Chapter 7: Muerta and Merideth

It was pitch black, It always did this for a couple of seconds when the merging first takes place, but it had been weeks. Muerta was confused; whenever she fused with a mortal to increase her strength, they would be the ones in the darkness of her soul. Muertas' soul was pitch black because she was evil, all humans had a white soul because they were all born pure, which is why Muerta was confused. It had been a week inside the darkness she thought was her soul, but maybe it wasn't. Maybe she was the one who was trapped in another soul. 'How did it end up like this?' Muerta thought back to the last mortal she crushed.

It was a dumb boy named Magnus. She must be inside Magnus' soul. Muerta was the new god of death but she was still too young to know how to break and manipulate souls, so she was trapped in here forced to listen to Magnus' every will. If Magnus ever noticed he had a soul then he could decide what to do to her.

Muerta only knew two beings with a dark soul, herself and Artanis, the overgod of the Carastine galaxy. She, as a new god, was put under the overgod of the milky way galaxy to watch over Earth.

A god has to spend the first 20 years of their rule on the planet as a mortal themselves. Once they have spent 20 years and gathered enough energy by doing what they are the god of enough, they could ascend to an overlord rank god and use the planet itself as an energy source.

With this in mind, Muerta tried to find a way out of his soul, if she didn't get out in the next 4 months she would belong in body and soul to Magnus.

The black choker collar tattoo already began to appear around her neck and for the first time, Muerta felt bound to the mortal realm.

Muerta flew upwards, the darkness made it hard to grasp whether she was moving or not, but she knew she was going to the center of the soul. 'Once I get to the center of the soul I'll just destroy it and be released. I have 4 months to break out. I got this…' She thought to herself.

Meridith sheathed her twin daggers and left the battlefield. Around her were dead bodies, elves and humans alike. The bodies stretched on for as far as the eye could see. This was the final fight for "The Battle Of Mirden" This black, body littered plains used to be a lush forest named Mirden.

The humans did not want the elves to be so close to their kingdoms, so they decided to destroy the elves' entire home forest. The humans set the forest on fire and surrounded it so the elves would have no option but to fight for the escape of their people and not for the safety of their homes. The destruction left the elves with no other option than the hidden gem of a forest, Artek.

The sole survivor Merideth made her way towards the largest of the human kingdoms, Terion. Merideth opened her arms to the side in a welcoming gesture and the earth underneath shook with great force. The ground directly in front of her parted pushing away bodies and cracking the ashen ground.

Five one and a half meter tall wooden wolves clawed their way out of the hole and bowed towards her in a semi-circle.

Meridith mounted one of the wolves wich made the wooden beast make a small saddle-like throne, and she rode off into the distance.

_______________________

Muerta had severely underestimated the size of the black soul she was trapped in. After three weeks had gone by just flying upwards she did not notice anything different from regular. She sped up to match her fastest flight time, and still, after one month of this she couldn't notice a difference in the space around her.

Added up, It had been two and a half months. The nearly formed collar was severely restricting her movements. After the last month, she would have to exert her full strength just to move normally.

Muerta told herself this was far enough. Her dark purple eyes turned to a brighter violet, and her long black hair started to flow freely as if the wind was blowing her face in slow motion.

This was Muertas' special move, "Death Bomb," it made an explosion that could cover half earth. This bomb would completely flatten everything and make it a no-mans' land for the next 300 years.

"NOW LET ME OUT OF HERE MAGNUS!" She shouted within the channeling of the bomb.
