Chapter 8: Chapter 8 the troubles a named monster can bring, (friendly fire!)
Walter was making his way to the Den of evil, the way to reach it wasn't a pleasant sight as a good number of rogues, some mercenaries, and a large number of monster corpses littered the roads as none of them were intact displaying how severe the battle had gotten.
At first, he was tempted to loot the corpses of monsters and so for a few using his two companions, however, there was no loot even the strange pebble-like objects were either gone or due to another reason.
Thus he decided to ignore the corpses and headed to his destination with haste, as he needed to hurry or Yok'ta will be able to strengthen his growing army even more.
at the entrance of the cave, there was a barricade with armed yet wounded rogues and mercenaries, while Kashya, Warriv, and Silvia were recovering from different injuries.
Kashya had her left arm held by a sling as her armor of removed with her torso covered in bandages as blood was seeping through it showing the extent of the damage, Warriv had bandages wrapped around his head covering his eyes.
they said he was temporarily blinded by Corpse poison with both arms broken by a greater undead, Silvia the little minx had the least injuries but she was exhausted as she was the one that saved the other two when they were downed tending to the campfire as she messed with the burning coals with a stick with a solemn look.
Upon seeing Walter, Silvia dropped the stick then attempted to get up with a smile on her face but she lacked the energy to rise to her feet only for her fall back on to her small bum!
Walter saw this had a helpless smile form on his face before he approached the three he ordered Angel to scout the first area of the Den and the sleepyhead of a blood hawk to help him gain a layout of the den and how many monsters they going to deal with.
Sharing his senses with the blood hawk, Walter was able to get a general idea of how bad it was the first area wasn't looking good as the scouts sent by Kashya and the mercenaries were all dead except for a few of the rogues which were being made into 'toys' of the fallen.
they were trying to make them into corrupted rogues, through torture, being raped repeatedly, leaving them at the borderline of the living and dying, with numerous curses as a large pentagram glowed ominously as the skin of the surviving rogues slowly turned grey as they tried to resist but unable thanks to the ropes that held them down and gags that prevented them from screaming.
Seeing the method of how a corrupted rogue can be made, it was disturbing for him to say the least, and there was very little of what he could do right now as the numbers of the monster that resided within the Den became clear to him with the help of the Blood hawk.
there was 70 fallen with Yok'ta and two more shamans, the hungry dead numbered a whooping 200, with some large muscular monsters covered in stone and fur leaving only their heads, hands, and feet exposed which numbered around 40 with the corrupted rogues numbering over 60.
so all together the number of monsters was 373 it may not seem like much but with the nuisance Yok'ta leading them this would be challenging for a group with more than half of them injured that numbered 101, so the odds were against them.
Walter reported the information he had gotten to which made the morale of the camp drop significantly but his following words brought them some hope.
"If I go in alone, I might be able to cut down their numbers."
Some of the people there assumed that he was either suicidal or was putting on false bravado, as the suffering they endured, the fear that they felt, and the situation seemed hopeless so they wanted to vent somehow.
With the words of Walter acting as a trigger, they made him their scapegoat since he was being suicidal for even attempting to clear the den on his own.
Some of them tried to get physical as he was ignoring them, only to earn a bitchslap which either knocked them out or made them shut up!
Silvia released an exaggerated sigh before declaring this.
"He won't be going alone, I'll be there to assist my Gufta!"
As for the reaction it brought was even worse than when he told them of his plans more so from the males within the camp as they looked a tad bit more green as they all looked at Walter with hate and envy!
What Walter didn't tell them was that he'll be using his two companions to aggro some of the monsters towards two directions to increase their chances of survival.
As one thing he learned about Angel and blood hawk that he named as Quinn since it made him think of Harley Quinn in her jester outfit, these two were as strong as he was stat-wise meaning that they'll be able to handle a good number of monsters before being overrun.
But Walter also hoped that they would run when things reached that point as he and Silvia killed as many as they can as the little Rogue could easily kill the weaker monsters with a single arrow.
Walter and Silvia entered the cave while crouching as quietly as possible but the sight within the first area Made his follower gasp lowly thanks to the atrocities the monsters brought upon the corpses, dismembered and mutilated beyond recognition.
It made her grit her teeth in anger as some of them were her sisters further fueling her hatred for the Named monster that she wanted to make into a pincushion for her arrows!
A strange surge of energy flowed through his body then out of curiosity her checked his stats.

it was nice he had another one to join him but the stats confused him as when he was in the form of the blood hawk it didn't have the limit so it was rather upsetting but as he was focused on that matter and the new creature that was under his control another soothing surge traveled through his body as another creature was added to his collection of monsters as another fragment was added to Angel and to the one after Quinn.
It was becoming somewhat addicting but Walter reigned in that urge before focusing on the monster they were here for as it was surrounded by the fallen as Yok'ta was torturing the rogues again trying to turn them to his side as his knife was serving into their skin and flesh as the blood of the helpless rogue flowed from her body gradually making a pool of blood together with the others that were barely holding on.
But Silvia who was barely able to control herself since earlier, then upon seeing her surviving sisters being tainted it was the last draw so she drew her bow loaded five arrows then fired exposing their location as she was blinded by fury as she shouted out some vulgarities!
"Damned needle dick fiends! I'll show you what happens to impotent dirty fucks like you when you mess with the sisterhood!"
Mind you that was only part of her words as it went on as she fired more arrows with a few words that mentally attacked Walter's ego for ignoring her previous advances.
"Walter's dick is kinda small but you guys can't even compare to a needle!"
As the victim of the crossfire was mentally crying while unleashing his anger on the monsters that headed their way as he knew that she wasn't going to stop there!
