Chapter 8: Chapter 8 - Stargate Project
It was a an early morning, as the scientists at Tanegashima Cosmodrome, were putting last touches before the inauguration of first live test for the media. Lots of funds went into creating a huge propaganda machine that Japan discovered unconventional means of FTL travel and created some sort of wormhole creator device. When the media swarmed the Cosmodrome where they finished building a big nuclear plant to fuel the Stargate it grabbed attention by how quickly it was made into being one. The site was 3 times bigger than Fukushima so it came to the media's realization that they are not bluffing.
When the final doses of liquified Energon were poured into the pipes, the tech was finally running at full capacity. Emperor's escort drove in as the scientists finished the last patches. Everything is now ready for the big show - Japanese foot on the moon. Indeed a glorious day.
As the Emperor comes into the control room, the press has eyes on the monarch. He smiled as he looked at the engineers and scientists working on the first-ever human-made space bridge.
"Thank you, Megatron." Said silently, under his nose, as he admired the technological supremacy of his allies. It was a good bargain. He sighed again and turned around. to the press, when he saw the Astronauts getting ready with their fancy new spacesuits.
"People of Japan and Citizens of Earth." Said as he stood proudly, speaking with a serious tone. "As the Emperor of Japan, I decided to take personal responsibility for the progress of this nation. I decided that in the face of great dangers that Japan as a nation is facing on international ground, as well as observing the space race between the US and China, the fact that nation of the Rising Sun can fall behind in this term, we made a critical discovery in terms of science, that only quantum theory could provide. And here we are, standing in front of our answer for rockets. A portal that will allow us to traverse the vacuum of space in a near-instantaneous manner, through... The Stargate. Ladies and Gentlemen, these 20 brave men and women from the JSDF, were handpicked as the best of the best. Their mission is to go to the moon, plant the Japanese flag on the surface of it, and return safely with the moon's surface samples. Are you ready, guys?"
Asked when turned to the astronauts who wear something similar to the Martian Marine suit from the Expanse, with advanced oxygen delivery system. "We are ready, your highness. We will bring Japan glory it deserves."
Says as they bow 45 degrees down, with respect to the Emperor. Naruhito bows back.
"Commence warm-up." Said with a serious tone as he ordered the teams to move in and run the bridge. The loud siren went through the room, Simple, loud unsettling sound went off as a warning. They are going to make the Stargate go online... Megatron watches the media report with his crewmen on the ship. Nemesis is behind the moon but is able to process media signals.
Megatron sighed. "Humans.. They do too much show like it is something great."
Starscream smiled, as he pointed at the obvious things. "Well. They used liquid-powered rockets at this point, My liege. A Space Bridge portal is definitely something of a technological curiosity for them. Please have in mind that they barely are type 1 civilization."
Megatron smiled as he looked at the screen. "Indeed I forgot that they managed to get to the moon on their own. In a rocket. For them, it is indeed a big scientific success. I'm glad that Naruhito did not reveal the true nature of the Space Bridge technology's origins. But I'm also a bit upset that he made it into a big media show off."
Starblade smiled as she approached Megatron. "I'm impressed that they were able to build it that quick too, Lord Megatron but do you remember how our race was for the first time, trying out the Space Bridge? It was a piece of global news. First, cybetronian to traverse space~! Now we somewhat see it again."
Megatron giggled as the media presented the team opening the space bridge portal to the moon,
Starlink smiled as she saw the signals of the independent human bridge on the screen, and it opening on the moon's surface. "Lord Megatron. They are on the surface. Humans commenced a successful bridging."
Actually when watching all the vehicons clapped in the respect that they were able to work with just the schematics of the technology.
"Humans.. Indeed they could be a good ally to us. " Said one vehicon when Megatron looked and smiled. "Indeed they can. "
As humans collected the samples and returned to the surface safely, all 20 of them, the portal closed. Humans just now got the ability to traverse space and there is nothing that can limit the range of the bridge.
"Powers of this world. Watch in ave as Japan reclaims its title of the Empire. This age is the age of Japan. First superpower to have truly interstellar capabilities."
