Chapter 16: He's mine!
The whole day went by and Genesis went back to her usual serious self. She went into full working mode. Aiden had a meeting with a business partner so they did not spend lunch together and he left the office. Genesis had to stay because she still needed to set up other important meetings and call the CEO's of other companies that have been requesting to meet with Aiden. Since his schedule was already full she had to squeeze them in for next week somehow.
Afterward when he came back they only talked about work. In the end the day was busier then Genesis expected but it was still tolerable since other days were even busier.
Aiden tapped on Genesis' desk. She was so engrossed on typing in the computer she had not noticed him get up.
He had been looking at her intensely for the past five minutes and she still had not given him any attention. He thought she was still too flustered to talk to him but he realized she was too into her world.
Genesis finally looked up from her screen with a pencil in her mouth. She placed the pen down and looked at him a bit startled."Let's go the day is almost over."He told her in a warm tone. Genesis looked at the time and furrowed her eyebrows."But there's still one hour left."She reminded him. Last time she checked he is the one always wanting to keep her for after hours.
"I know. We have a welcome back party to attend tomorrow remember?" Genesis nodded at his words."Then let's go we need to get you a gown."He told her."I don't need a new gown don't worry I'll be there." She gave him a small smile and got back to typing.
Aiden rubbed his temple and sighed."As your boss I'm ordering you to come with me." When she heard his words her eyes widened.
"Sir! That's abuse of power." Aiden nodded at her words."It is, now let's go." Genesis sighed."Who am I going as?" She asked.
It always depended. Sometimes at dinner parties and social gatherings she would go as his partner and his assistant but when his family she would often go as his fiance."As my lover."He responded. He took her purse and her coat in his hands and looked at her surprised face."Let's go Gen." He said.
Genesis got up and turned off her computer but before that she made sure the file she was working on stayed saved. She got up and sighed.
'Lover? What even is that? I already forgot what being a lover is.' She thought with mixed emotions.
This is why she keeps suppressing her attraction to Aiden. She is not only afraid of hurting herself but also him. What if she isn't good enough to be his wife? She truly doesn't want to get into this topic because to her it became extremely sensitive.
She took the purse in his hands and thanked him. He nodded and helped her place her coat on even though she insisted that he didn't need to.
They walked out but this time they didn't directly exit through the front entrance of the building."My mom is waiting for us in the underground parking lot."He told her as they entered a private elevator next to his office.
Usually Genesis and Aiden only use this elevator in emergencies or when they are in a hurry. But when Aiden's family comes to the company they would always use the private elevator.
Genesis figured that his mom would be doing the shopping with her today since is not the first time. She just couldn't help but feel sour inside thinking about all the outfits she will have to try on.No wonder Aiden took her out of work early. She couldn't help but glare at him. Aiden turned to look at her and smiled softly. He patted her head."Don't worry I'll be there to help you."He assured her. Genesis pouted.
Aiden gulped, having the urge to bite her pouting lip. He cleared his throat. He wanted to say something but at that moment the elevator door opened. Genesis huffed and walked out. He sighed and held her wrist.
She stopped and turned to look at him with confusion. He only slipped his hand on hers and started walking. He intertwined their fingers together stopping her from slipping away. Genesis lowered her head and secretly blushed.
They entered a black minivan and Mrs.Miller was inside. Her face immediately brightened up and she smiled when she saw Genesis. She admires Genesis. She was there to witness her grow up and since day one she knew that she is the one for her son.
When her husband informed her about Aiden's confession the other day she jumped in excitement. She can only help her son get married to her already. She wants grandkids to play with!
Genesis gave Mrs.Miller a small hug and sat next to her. Aiden did the same and closed the door. The driver who was already aware of their destination started driving away.
"Bae will meet us later on. She has already arrived and she was quite excited to meet you." Mrs.Miller told Genesis.
Genesis nodded. They talked through the whole ride. The atmosphere was friendly. Aiden who only talked a few words like usual only silently watched Genesis' interactions with his mother. He felt a sudden warmth within him. Just thinking about her made him smile.
Genesis laughed with Mrs.Miller and side glanced at Aiden. She was stunned when she saw his smile.
"I saw you two were holding hands. Does that mean there will be a wedding soon?" Mrs.Miller teased.
Genesis smiled politely not knowing what to say."Soon enough mother." Aiden responded. Genesis cleared her throat."We are still figuring it out Aunty."She said.
After a while they finally arrived. They came down from the car and entered the mall. Genesis looked around and saw that there was nobody inside the mall. She nodded her head towards Aiden.
They can't allow there to be many people in the mall because there can be someone wanting to harm them in the crowd. This is why they always made sure to keep their security at top-notch.
They entered inside and there was a line of guards already waiting for them. They entered a shop and the manager along with two other women who could help them choose their gowns were there.
A third woman suddenly appeared in front of Genesis leaving her stunned.
" So you're this so-called fiance of my boyfriend huh? Well let me tell you he's mine. Aiden Miller is Mine!"
