Struggling in a cruel god's survival game Chapter 4

[Get up David.] The voice says, very annoyed with David's pathetic self pity. ' I-I can't!' 'What the hell do I do now?!... What the hell do I do?' David thinks, feelings of guilt infecting every corner of his brain, self pity filling filling in the space between the folds.

[Do you want to die David?] The voice asks causing the manchild to feel a bit of fear, waking him from his pathetic state.

'O-of course not.' David answers, managing to build up a small bit of determination.

[Then start moving.] [And put some goddamn clothes on...]

David, just now realizing that he is only in his underpants, decides to man up and takes off Aaravs clothes.

After he takes them off and gets a good look at what he had actually done, he can feel his stomach churning and an irresistible urge to empty it fills him.

[Are all humans this pathetic?] The voice asks as David pukes.

"Guh... Hah... What the fuck do you know?" David says, vitriolically.

[A lot of things actually.] the voice answers sarcastically, causing Davids frown to deepen.

[Just start moving and I'll explain the system to you.] The voice dismisses.

[Also, pick up that sword. It'll probably come in handy.]

'So how does it work?' David asks, while walking, having calmed down.

[To start of with there are three main functions.] The voice explains.

[ (status), (shop) and (inventory).]

'What do they do?' David asks.

[Try saying "Status" out loud.]

"Status." David says, unquestioningly.

The screen shows up once again, now with a yellow background.

'F-Four affinities?! What a goddamn monster...' 'Ggpc¤%1093652 really struck big on this one... Lucky bastard...' The voice thinks to itself. If it had teeth it would be grinding them.

'So... What the hell does any of this mean?!' David asks as the voice in it's bewilderment.

[Oh! Umm... so the name shows your name, though i bet you could figure that out on your own.] The voice teases.

'Yeah! I'm not stupid!' David says slightly annoyed. 'So what's Hp, and affinities and-'

[I'll explain all of it, just have a little patience.] the voice says unperturbed.

["Condition" is, as implied, your current condition.]

[Tired, bleeding, thinking, cursed, close to death, you know, stuff like that.] The voice explains.

'Ok, I think I kind of get it...' David thinks, slightly confused.

[Don't worry, you'll probably get the hang of it eventually.] The voice reassures.

["Hp" is basically how close you are to death.]

[If your head gets lopped of it goes straight to down to 0% but, if you lose an arm it'll probably go down to about 60%]

'Ok.' David thinks, understanding it, thinking of a game he used to play as a kid.

["Affinities" are something that almost every being is born with.]

[It is a bit too complicated to explain briefly so lets just say that it shows what paths are possible for you right now.]

[Say "describe affinity: skills!" out loud.] The voice beckons.

David complies. "Describe affinity: skills!"

Natural Affinity: (Skills)

Allows your body and soul to create unique "Skills" Through repeated action, learning and understanding.

Allows you to exchange "Skills" with other beings.

Creating, gaining and upgrading skills strengthen your body, soul or mind, according to the skill.

When you exchange a skill you lose the strength gained by the exchanged skill.

'What? Who? Why?' David asks, slightly scared.

[It's the god that brought you here.] The voice explains.

[You'll completely ruin the balance of the game if you survive so It'll probably place a hit on you.]

'...And what does that mean?' David asks, despair creeping up on him.

[Every other person in the game will try to take your head.]

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!" He exclaims.

[Cal-] "WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO?!" David puts his hands on the sides of his head.

[David!] "I'M FUCKING DEAD!!!" He falls to his knees.

[CALM DOWN DAVID!] The voice roars, causing David to shrink in fear.

[YOU THINK SCREAMING LIKE A CHILD WILL GET YOU ANYWHERE?] The voice reprimands.

[It'll probably be another hour or two until he releases the quest anyways so you have time.]

"Time for-" The voice interrupts him.

[Speak in your mind you bumbling monkey!] The voice disciplines.

[Don't you get that somebody will hear you?!]

'Sorry...' David says, in a downtrodden tone.

[Now get back up, and keep walking.] The voice demands.

'Time for what?' David finishes the question.

[To get stronger.] the voice says.

'How?' David asks.

[I'll show you... But first! Let's continue the explanation.]

[Now! Sp points is short for "slaughter points", which you can use in the shop to buy... Pretty much anything.]

[The shop is full of things that have been collected and mass produced by Ggpc¤%1093652.]

[Say "Shop" out loud.]

"Shop." David says. The screen changes.

[Yes, you press your finger on the screen .] The voice preemptively answers, annoying David.

[There's a search bar in the top right.] The voice answers.

'Do you have a name by the way?'

[Me? Why would you want to know that?] The voice asks, confused.

'Just so i can have something to call you by. It'd be a bit awkward calling you "you" all the time.'

The voice thinks in silence for a few seconds before answering.

[I don't have a name.]

'What should i call you then?' David asks, a bit perturbed.

[Don't call me anything, I'll speak to you when it is necessary.] The voice answers.

[Now search for guns.]

'Ok then... Grumpy...' David responds.

[You know i can hear you right?]

'I-I'm sorry!' David exclaims.

David complies, even though he knows he can create skills, unknowingly placing his trust in the voice.

A wave of dizziness flashes through David's mind. He stops walking and gets on his knees before laying down on his back, trying to deal with the dizziness. After about a minute of laying down he once again hears footsteps running towards him. The footsteps seem smaller this time.

[Well... I'd be lying if I said it's been nice knowing you so... Goodbye.] The voice says, slightly disappointed.

[Skill created: {Sense danger} ]

David panics and tries to get up on his feet and makes out what looks to be a midget, running at him with a sword, though he cannot quite make anything out.

As the midget does not have its sword ready to be swung David proactively stabs the midget two times in the left shoulder as the midget tries to hit him with the sword, before falling over, hitting his face on the dirt floor, breaking his nose in the process.

As his face connects with the floor he notices how strangely hard it is before coming back to his senses and rolling on his back. As he looks back at the midget he feels a sense of danger coming from behind him. He looks behind and sees a sword moving towards his face.

He quickly moves his head out of the way avoiding a lethal blow, the sword cutting from the corner of his right lip, back to his molars, through the back of his jaw, narrowly avoiding his throat. He screams in pain and stabs the person in the wrist, then slashes the persons thumb off, making the person drop their sword.

He quickly gets up and runs towards the child, now understanding that It's not a midget, who is crying on the ground and lifts it up by the hair and holds the knife to it's throat shouting. "DONTH MUVE! DO- AH! FUCKH! FUCKH!" Before tripping forwards and falling onto the child.

He lifts himself up with his left arm, looking at where the knife ended up in horror.
