Chapter 55: SAO part 10: Traps.

Those were the sounds of arrows getting shot and flying in the air with the glowing white light of SAO skills.
The arrows did a curve in the air and left a trail of light in the dark corridor while flying towards Akashi(DIO) that was charging to the front.
Akashi(DIO) took one step forwards while looking at tens of arrows flying towards him calmy.
With the assist of <<Moon Sight>>, the dark corridor was clear in front of Akashi(DIO) that used <<Emperor Eye>> to scan all the arrow's trajectory in the air.
Raising his hand, Akashi(DIO) took a knife from his belt before flinging it toward the first arrow in the air.
The knife assisted by SAO system flew at very fast speed and hit the arrow before it ricocheted into two more but that wasn't the end.
The ricocheted arrows hit two other more, opening a big hole in the arrows formation which allowed Akashi(DIO) to rush to the front directly.
Akashi(DIO) rushed to the front while more arrows started shooting at him from all directions.
Looking at all the arrows that were flying in slow motion, Akashi(DIO) took his long knife in one hand before using <<Dash>> to escape most of the arrows.
Rushing at a very high speed, Akashi(DIO) twisted his body before raising his knife and blocking two arrows from behind while scanning the corridor again and rushing to the front.
<It getting faster with each step...> Akashi(DIO) watched the arrows in this slow world made from his eyes and DEX before raising his hand with the gauntlet quickly and blocked an arrow from his blind spot.
<Attacking the blind spots now...> Akashi(DIO) frowned before using his fastest speed to dodge the arrows while blocking the ones that he wasn't able to dodge.
<But arrows with this speed will never be able to hit me...> Akashi(DIO) kept dodging the arrows using his knife and gauntlet to block them.
<At this rate I might have to use <<Zone>>...> Akashi(DIO) frowned while feeling this trap need a shield user while using those gaps in the walls to hide, but he didn't have time because of the sound coming from behind him.
<They entered... I need to hurry up> Akashi(DIO) used <<Dash>> again to rush to the front while dodging an arrow to his ankle and tilting his head to avoid another arrow aiming at it.
<Hm?...> Akashi(DIO) suddenly noticed in this space filled with slow down arrows, there was a big arrow.
The arrow was flying toward Akashi(DIO) with a considerable speed unlike the other arrows while hiding behind the arrows glow.
Akashi(DIO) didn't have time to think. Raising his hand, Akashi(DIO) gauntlet glowed with a grey color before swinging it at the arrow.
*Crash*
Akashi(DIO) blocked the arrow, but he completely lost his balance while looking at the arrows rushing towards him.
Twisting his foot, Akashi(DIO) rolled on the ground to avoid those arrows, but his thigh got shot by an arrow.
Akashi(DIO) ignored the pain and stood up instantly from the ground, but the moment he stepped forward a light flashed under his foot.
<Sh*t...> Akashi(DIO) twisted his body and used <<Dash>> instantly to rush towards one of the gaps of the wall and hide while the ground collapsed showing spikes under it.
"It felt like a ballista bolt...> Akashi(DIO) frowned while taking the arrow from his thigh and looked at the ground recovering.

Akashi(DIO) looked at his back to see players using shields to block the arrows while rushing forwards but some of them fallen to the traps and died instantly or got shot and wasn't able to get up.
Taking a deep breath, Akashi(DIO) activated his <<Zone>> and scanned the corridor front and back before leaving the gap and rushing forward.
The moment Akashi(DIO) left the gap, the arrows started shooting at him from all the places again, but this time they are much slower than before.
Using <<Dash>>, Akashi(DIO) skipped most of the arrows in the front before throwing two knives at his back which made the arrows ricochets and turning towards the players in the back especially the bearded man in the front.
Bearded man that was protected by his men with shields looked up to the extra arrows before using his ax and chopping all of them.
"Motherf**ker..." Looking at the front, the bearded man gritted his teeth while looking at Akashi(DIO) in the front, but before he and his men moved forward, they heard something behind them.
A player with blond hair rushed at a fast speed before using his spear that was glowing with SAO skills as a pole to jump above the bearded man and his subordinate.
"Thank you..." Golden Cat said while flying above the bearded man steam before rushing to the front.
"Wha- Ugh!!" one of the players said in confusion before a large number of arrows hit his shield.
The arrows that were pointing at Golden Cat changed their target after locking the bearded man team which put them in a tight position and Golden Cat rushed to the front safety.
"One after another... YOU BASTARD!!!" the bearded man screamed while looking at Golden Cat and Akashi(DIO) in the front.
Akashi(DIO) heard the angry screams behind him, but he didn't care about it because the arrows increased even more and started to shot at the same time.
Akashi(DIO) raised his knife and slashed the front 4 times in a row, blocking six arrows before rushing forward while dodging more arrows.
Another large arrow flew towards Akashi(DIO), but he stepped away instantly while raising his arm to block an arrow that he didn't even see from behind.
This's the combination of the <<Emperor eye>> and <<Eye of the Mind>> which allows Akashi(DIO) to block hidden attacks as long at they were calculated by his <<Emperor eye>> before and leaving the rest to <<Eye of the Mind>> even if its level is low.
Suddenly, Akashi(DIO) saw a light under his foot before he jumped in the air using <<Leap>> while reaching the left wall of the corridor instantly. The ground where Akashi(DIO) was standing got crushed instantly and turned into a dark deep hole before recovering.
Akashi(DIO) that reached the wall didn't stop, but he used <<Dash>> almost instantly to run alone side the wall while all the arrows hit the wall behind him.
After three seconds, Akashi(DIO) speed decreased which lowered his balance on the wall and forced him to jump towards the ground while throwing some knives to stop the arrows.
But during his flight in the air, Akashi(DIO) forced his body to twist in the air before raising his knife with SAO skill and blocking an ax that flew from behind him.
The bearded man clicked his tongue when he saw Akashi(DIO) blocking the ax, but the next scene completely shocked him.
Akashi(DIO) that dodged the ax twisted his body again while his foot glowed red before kicking the ax from its handle and sending it towards the bearded man at a very fast speed.
"S**T..." the bearded man screamed while moving to the side to dodge the ax.
The bearded man dodged the ax, but before he felt happy, he saw the position where the ax landed started glowing. This's the first trap Akashi(DIO) activated.
The bearded man and his team didn't even have time to scream because they rushed with their fastest speed to the front in an attempt to dodge the trap.
The bearded man and his team survived the trap, but three of his men weren't lucky as spikes rushed from the wall and killed them instantly.
The bearded man turned around and looked at Akashi(DIO) that didn't land yet while his eyes shone red from wrath.
Akashi(DIO) didn't care about the bearded man's condition because he's in the air now with a lot of arrows rushing towards him.
Putting a stance of stabbing, Akashi(DIO) rotated his body to the front before his knife started glowing.
Without any delay, Akashi(DIO) thrust his knife forwards as the skill activated and his body shot to the front using the skill assistance.
This's mid-air skills trick that allows players to attack and dodge in mid-air using normal sword skills.
Slashing his front 5 times, Akashi(DIO) deflected most the arrows while blocking some with his gauntlet before landing on the ground, but the moment he landed he felt like he activated a hidden mechanism by hearing some sounds from the walls.
*BOOM*
All the players turned their heads back to see a giant boulder rolling from the corridor start and rushing towards them.
"S**t..." All the players said at the same time before rushing faster while dodging traps.
The boulder speed increased with every roll it did in the corridor until it surpassed the speed of some players in the back and forced them to hide in the gaps.
The players that saw the boulder passing them breathed a sigh of relief, but before they felt happy they saw the entire corridor behind the bolder turning into fragments.
The players screamed, but they caught instantly by the destruction and fall to the darkness before dying instantly.
Akashi(DIO) that saw the boulder rushing while crushing everything in its way turned and started running at a faster speed than usual.
All the players that saw the boulder killing those players increased their speed while abandoning the gaps and using all their power to escape the traps.
But if there is a player rushing better than everyone, it'll be Golden Cat that started to rotate his spear to block all the arrows while running.
Akashi(DIO) that increased his speed started to spam <<Dash>> every time the CD finished to increase his speed before he saw the corridor design changed suddenly.
But before he understood anything, he jumped to the front because a wrecking ball came crushing to his direction while destroying a part of the wall.
Akashi(DIO) saw another ball rushing at him before he jumped and landed on it.
The ball swung in the air while Akashi(DIO) was on it, but before it hit the wall Akashi(DIO) jumped from it and landed on the wall before jumping into another one while leaving the arrows behind him.
When Akashi(DIO) landed on the ball he heard something above him to see the rope of the wrecking ball getting chopped by an ax before he and the ball started to drop to the ground.
<Again?...> Akashi(DIO) looked behind him to see the bearded man smiling.
The bearded man that saw his attempt was successful smiled, but that smile didn't last long.
Akashi(DIO) that was falling with the ball jumped to the air slightly while the ball landed before getting on again and the ball started rolling around and blocking all the traps and some arrows from the wall for Akashi(DIO).
Akashi(DIO) started running on the ball while shotting knives and tearing all the other wreaking balls ropes while blocking the few arrows coming at him.
The wreaking ball that falls from their ropes started falling in front of Akashi(DIO) that jumped above them while using them as a tool to clear the path. Akashi(DIO) that almost passed the corridor turned around and did a thumb up to the bearded man before rushing again.
The bearded man saw Akashi(DIO) disappearing from his vision while his expression darkened from rage and all his team started trembling before rushing at a faster speed.
Akashi(DIO) that was rolling with the balls reached an end where the ground disappeared and the only place to land was pillars that made a way to three doors at the distance.
Akashi(DIO) looked at the doors for a moment before his foot started glowing.
The moment when the wreaking ball reached the end and started falling, Akashi(DIO) used both <<Dash>> and <<Leap>> to blast towards them.
Akashi(DIO) flew in the air for a moment, but he started to lose speed and distance is still far from the gates.
Doing the thrust stance, Akashi(DIO) used SAO skill to blast towards the door before he also used the skill by his fist and increased his speed mid-air.
Almost reaching the gates, Akashi(DIO) that was in the slow mode of his eyes and zone noticed that the symbols of the right gate matched his book, so he changed his direction and rushed towards it.
The moment Akashi(DIO) was close to the gate. The gate opened up instantly and a blue light engulfed Akashi(DIO) before he disappeared.
Opening his eyes, Akashi(DIO) saw he's inside a wide room with a lot of statues and symbols in an unknown and some familiar language was around them.
But the most striking was the giant statues at the end of the room that had six arms and equally 6 different weapons from a giant hammer to giant blade.
The statue didn't have eyes, but Akashi(DIO) felt it was looking at him directly while a cold sweat run on his back.
<... You really thought of this Kayaba> Akashi(DIO) smiled while watching the giant statue that had a name and HP bar after Akashi(DIO) entered the room.

The moment the HP bars appeared, the statue moved slightly while turning his head without eyes towards Akashi(DIO).
