Chapter 236: Double Wedding!
"You better stay by Kyla this time. Before, nobody knew she was pregnant, so we can't entirely put fault on you for leaving her alone. But now, her pregnancy is confirmed. You have us on your ass if you dare walk out on her or bully her." Selina crossed her arms and leaned her weight on one leg.
"I know. I won't let anything happen to her anymore." Isaac confessed, feeling guilty for leaving her alone to deal with his parents while he was overseas. If he had known his mother's twisted mindset, he would've stayed with Kyla and not travel anywhere.
"So, what will you do now? Madam Wang nearly killed your baby. Don't tell me you're letting her off because she's your mother." Celinda questioned Isaac with an interrogative tone.
"No, I will not tolerate her behavior. I've never once thought of having Kyla endure Mrs. Wang's ridiculous nature. Last time, I thought I made it clear enough that she would have me as an enemy if she went against Kyla. It's been a while since her schemes that I forgot about her existence. I guess she really didn't take my words seriously. She dared harm Kyla and my baby, so I will also touch the thing she treats preciously." He grinned wickedly, evilness shone in the depths of his eyes.
"By the way, now that you guys are pregnant, what are your upcoming plans? Do you guys want to wait until the babies are born and then have your wedding? Or are you guys going to hold the ceremony first?" Jason didn't tell his parents about Celinda's pregnancy yet. Although he knew his parents aren't the strict type of parents who would make things hard for the couple, he still needed to respect his sister's wishes before telling them.
Celinda looked at Bryan and then at her flat stomach. "Mm...I think it'll be better to have the ceremony first. My stomach isn't showing yet and even if it does show, it'll look like a small bump. We're already engaged, so getting married is just a matter of time." She studied Bryan's expression when she brought up her suggestion as if she wanted to see if he would disagree with her.
Fortunately, he maintained a smile on his face and dotingly hugged her back. "I'll do whatever you wish. Your happiness is my everything." He answered sweetly.
"What about you, Isaac? You two had a whole wedding planned out already. The only thing left is really choosing the date for your ceremony." Bryan diverted everyone's attention onto the other couple.
"Hmm, it will depend on what Kyla wants. Her health is the most important right now. If she feels better and could go through with the wedding without exhausting herself, then we can hold it on a closer date. As you said, everything was prepared, it is really the date that is left. There are a few auspicious dates coming up that we could choose from." Isaac's meaning was the same as Bryan's.
Kyla hummed lowly for a few seconds before sharing her thoughts. "I want to have the wedding before I give birth. I only have a bit of morning sickness. As long as I eat more and rest well, I'll be good in no time."
Holding her hands in his, Isaac smiled. "Okay. Everything will be done according to your wishes."
"Hmm, Celinda, Bryan, have you two started on planning for your wedding yet?" Selina thought about how long it takes to plan a wedding. She knew the process could take at least half a year.
"No, we were planning on talking about the details later. Now that I think about it, I wonder if we could have a wedding before my stomach shows." Celinda frowned when she thought about the stack of tasks they have to do.
"Hmm, I got an idea! How about the two of us have our wedding on the same day? You and Bryan and look at the plans we have and see if there are any details you might want to change. We can easily accommodate one another since our tastes are similar." Kyla sat up in bed, feeling more energized at the thought of doubling the fun.
"A double wedding? That sounds more exciting than a single wedding! Hahahah! What do you think, Bryan?" Celinda bit her bottom lip as she asked Bryan for his opinion.
"If you like it, then we'll go for it." Bryan held her hands lovingly. her fingertips were slightly cold from the air conditioner in the room. Quickly, he took off his sweater and placed it on her shoulders.
"I'm not cold." Celinda felt his hands pulling his sweater around her body.
"Your hands are cold. Keep it on. Better to stay warm." His eyes wandered off to her stomach for the nth time today. Ever since she told him she was pregnant, he would subconsciously look at her tummy. It still felt like a dream that a small life was growing little by little inside Celinda. Soon, the little one will greet them and follow their guidance. Everything felt surreal.
Soon after, the nurse stopped by to inform Kyla about a scheduled body examination. Since visiting hours were over, Celinda, Bryan, Selina, and Jason left the hospital. On their way to the parking lot, Celinda kept yawning.
"Tired?" Bryan asked, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb.
"En. A little bit." Her voice sounded hoarse. She felt her eyelids weighing down every minute that passes.
"Then, let's go home. We have ingredients at home to make dinner later. Take a nap." Bryan saw her bopping her head in agreement.
"Okay. Then, Brother and sister-in-law, let's eat together next time." Celinda faintly smiled at the couple whose attention was focused on her.
"Alright, rest well. Remember to rest more. Since you two decided to have the wedding with Kyla and Isaac, you can let mother-in-law and father-in-law know about it. They're having a vacation right now anyway. Watch them book the next flight back as soon as they hear about your pregnancy." Selina could hear her in-laws screaming over the phone already.
