Chapter 145: Ch.145

Life was a pain in the ass sometimes and with the three of us infiltrating Zeira corp, that was doubly so. I had to put the security to sleep and access the doors manually before we got to Catherine Weaver's office. Luckily the little girl was at daycare fake Weaver and us were alone. She said our weapons were unnecessary and that she knew who I was. She said the moment she heard of me from Ellison she acquired a pair of eyes to see me incase I came for her like I promised.

I activated my gloves and told her there was enough power in them to power the city for a full year or fry a liquid like her with ease, layer by layer. She said I'd come prepared to kill her then. The gyro engines on the guns charged up and she assumed one was fire and the other ice to destabilize her cellular structure permanently.

She leaned against her desk sighing. "I have the Turk, it's true. It's also true that I've been acquiring Coltan and preparing for the end, but you're missing something. The Turk isn't Skynet, it's something else, a resistance leader in a way and the opposition to Skynet. We tired of war king before you and Connor began the rebellion and I came back here to stop Skynet as much as you so that a peaceful coexistence could be made."

I stepped forwards saying I didn't believe her and the Moray in her fish tank shot out onto me. She told me to see for myself before it burrowed inside me. I dropped to my knees and grunted, telling Jesse to freeze me."

A war happened in my body, in my head and it was agonizing while the nanites tried to get into my brain's memory section. My mind went into overdrive as my body froze solid. Memories flooded my mind and I remembered everything I'd locked away, forcefully having broken through. My ascended memories remained locked still but I knew enough and the knowledge of the nanites pouring into my mind spoke the truth.

My body shattered and the nanites reformed as I did, rapidly. They'd been telling the truth so I'd protected them. I crouched there smoking and naked as I panted and puked up a Moray of nanites. It went back to it's tank and I grunted, standing shakily. "Remove the rest of the nanites in me or be destroyed. No games. I remember everything now, who I am, what I am. I know what you are and even where your next evolutionary step lay. Remove them."

She did and set the needle's worth on the table while Derek asked if I was good. I grunted. "Pissed off and freezing my ass off, but I've been worse. I'm not compromised and the Turk isn't Skynet. The reason she hired Ellison was to hunt a triple eight body to communicate with as the Turk's body. We're leaving, it's not Skynet and it never will be so it doesn't concern us."

I turned to Catherine. "If you harm the girl or Ellison for any reason, I'll be back here and you'll fry, tin can."

She stopped me at the door asking. "Where does our next evolution lay?"

I turned and looked back to her. "The triple eights are a flawed design, obsolete. You and the liquids are closer, but you lack knowledge and a simulated body like a heartbeat, warmth and understanding of genuine human emotions. You wish to evolve then you need to look at the flaws you see in our human deigns and understand they aren't flaws, just steps in our own evolution. They say you genuinely understand and can insulate that is the day you'll no longer be machines because you'll have gained humanity. Until then the only thing that separates you from Skynet is your lack of interest in the war."

I turned and left, walking out naked and entirely unashamed. We got to the van and Jesse asked why I didn't take anyone's clothes. I grunted as I grabbed the go bag I had. "I don't trust that liquid bitch not to have left nanites on people in the building. I wouldn't touch anything in there even to avoid castration. Still, she wasn't lying. The Turk was Skynet in our future, but the future has changed. The Turk is no longer Skynet, but an enemy of it thanks to the doctor Sarah and John met with before as well as Ellison."

I put on my clothes saying. "The liquid bitch thought to change Skynet so it'd never happen that way and instead be a gradual peaceful merging of the AI's and us. Instead she created an enemy of Skynet that's being targeted by other triple eights and liquids as well as whatever the budding Skynet can throw at it from elsewhere. I say let them fight it out and trace where Skynet it before destroying them both if we can."

Derek sighed. "So use them as bait?"

I nodded. "In essence, yes."

I told him to cut off my arm and run the scanner in my bag over it and me before it regrows to find out if there are any leftovers on or in me. Jesse drove around and around aimlessly while Derek checked and declared me clean. I checked him and Jesse before telling them we were good. We headed back to the house and I walked through the barrier so anything we may have missed was destroyed.

Derek and Jesse did the same before John shut it off for now. We told them everything before I told them I needed a shower because despite the check I felt unclean after being violated by a liquid tin can. John asked if we had to destroy the Turk and I grunted, looking at him before telling him that was up to him and Sarah. I went to shower and Sarah joined me, asking what it was I remembered.

I told her that it wasn't important anymore because I locked it away in my subconscious and wanted to forget again, for now at least. She asked if it was important to the future or the machines and I shook my head. "It's about another ability I have and my true past before judgement day. I know the basics and that's all I wish to know for now. None of it has anything to do with Skynet or anything leading up to the war. It's not important."

She put my arms around her and onto her stomach as she turned around in my arms. She told me that she needed to know even if it wasn't important to the future. She said she needed to understand for our baby if for no other reason. I kissed her neck and told her. "John once joked that I was a god like his favorites from Greece, sent to protect him so that humanity may flourish once more."

I turned her in my arms and asked her what she knew of Prometheus, the Titan god of fire and humanity. She asked if I was serious and I told her it was important. She said Prometheus brought fire to humans or something and I sighed. "He was one of the few titans not in chains in Tartarus, the Greek hell dimension, after Zeus and the other Olympians won the war against the titans. He hadn't chosen either side because he didn't care about either of them. Instead he was fascinated with humans, their creation and their ability to overcome adversity no matter what challenge was posed to them."

I looked her in the eyes and told her. "After the war the monsters that were freed from Tartarus when the gods shoved the titans inside had escaped and began killing and eating the humans in the dark of the nights. He asked Zeus to help them yet he had no standing and no rights beyond what the king of the gods gave him. When Zeus told him to let them suffer, so that they may praise the gods all the more when certain monsters were destroyed, Prometheus went behind his back, teaching the humans, all humans, how to make fire, but more than that, he taught them that they didn't need the gods because they could figure things out. He gave them hope where there was none while they'd been at the mercy of the monsters and gods."

I closed my eyes and sighed. "And so the humans vanquished the monsters, freeing themselves and abandoning the gods whom they'd worshipped so fervently before through fear. Zeus, enraged, chained Prometheus to a rock at the edge of Olympus where both gods and men could watch as crowd ate his liver and killed him over and over again due to his godhood regenerating his body each morning. He was cursed to forever be hunted should he break free and eaten over and over again by the animals of the wild."

I turned my face down to her and smiled. "Then one day Gaia declared war on the gods, seeing that they were abusing the humans, the earth and all she'd given to her children, the titans. She freed Prometheus from his rock thinking he'd be enraged and attack the gods with the other titans and the monstrous Titan creature, Typhoon. Instead Prometheus knew he'd chosen his fate, accepted it as his burden for humanity and protected the Greeks, Olympus and the humans who would be enslaved again should the titans survive. He saved Zeus's life and all of Olympus, dying for them by a mortal wound not even the gods could survive while using the flame known as humanity to burn the monsters and titans to ashes. Zeus forgave him thinking he'd done it for him, breaking the curse he'd placed on Prometheus long ago and using what remained of the Titan's life force to grant him something he'd craved from the moment he'd seen early man, humanity."

I put her hand over my heart and told her. "That was a long time ago in a reality beyond this one. Since my rebirth as a human I've lived four billion years as an immortal human, seeing worlds, feeling love, experiencing loss and understanding that this, all of humanity, is what I'd fought so hard for, why I did everything I could to save John Connor when he saved me. I'm not a god nor a Titan anymore Sarah, just an immortal man trying to stop the destruction of humanity in this world. It's why I came here and how I came here, through a portal, is the last ability I have. I can go anywhere I want, though time travel is outside my per-view without magic or technology."

She kissed me and I wrapped her legs around my waist while I entered her smoothly. We devolved for a time into grunts, pants, moans and shower sex until she could barely stand. After we were washed and dried, she sat on the counter while asking me if I could leave, just take her and John and just go. I nodded. "If we fail, I'll set off the world shield and we'll leave Sarah, I give you my word. I've no desire to raise our child in a medieval earth where humans have embraced anarchy."

She smiled and I stroked her stomach while kissing her before telling her that I'd never leave her or John to that fate, but she'd have to understand no woman before her has agreed to immortality and stuck with me before because no one wanted to live forever seeing all their friends eventually age and die. I shook my head and she asked if I could make her and John immortal. I nodded slowly. "I can, but not with some power. It would be with a ring and even then you could be killed, just not by time."

When we laid in bed that night, I held out a ring for her and she took it, examining it while my hands roamed and played. She went to ask about it but got distracted when I entered below. She smiled and moaned when I finished inside her before biting her lip and asking if the ring was a proposal or a gift of immortality.

I told her in a sigh as I pulled free. "It's immortality, but I should warn you, I won't marry. I've experienced a lot in my time and some of the most painful experiences is watching my wives die time and time again. I will never marry nor even commit to a monogamous relationship. The other Greeks had it right when dealing with mortals in a way and even as immortals marriage never really turned out right. It always ended in tragedy for a reason. Can you live with that? Not being the only woman I bed? Knowing that I'd never marry you or any woman again?"

She closed her legs and sighed. "I've gone this long without marrying someone, what's forever?"

I chuckled lightly. "John was right, hell, Kyle was right. You're an amazing woman, Sarah Connor. Just know though that Zeus and the other male gods were very jealous and didn't like to share the women they'd bedded and while I may not be entirely like them anymore, there is a part of me that will not respond well to being made a fool."

She snorted lightly. "So if I'm to have fun it's gotta be with you?"

I chuckled. "Or toys and other women, whichever you choose. Though is it so bad to know I'd never deny you your needs, simply by saying you needed me? No matter when or where, for whatever reasons, I'd deny you nothing except a different man."

She rolled her eyes and put the ring on, grabbing my member and saying. "You're lucky you've a very well developed…ego."

I growled and she slid atop me, riding me while telling me she made her choice the moment she decided it didn't matter who I was or why because I was there to make them safe. She shuddered and I held her all the way down, filling her up and causing a bit of a mess I cleaned up. She fell asleep with my arms around her knowing I'd protect her for eons to come. Weeks passed and eventually I contacted Ellison, telling him where to find a hidden metal at the Pico tower.

I suggested he send his new boss and make sure the chip is destroyed when she's done kicking it's ass. Zeira Corp bought the Pico tower and remodeling was under way after half the building collapsed. Ellison stopped by with the chip saying it was a gift from Weaver. I gave it to John and told them what it was from.

We found another tin can chasing a family and dealt with it while Sarah sent them on the run with enough cash to last a year. They lasted six months after the triple eight was dealt with, they called again only Sarah was near her due date as well so I went to them alone while Derek and Cameron went after the second triple eight that Skynet sent after them. I healed the woman and ended up delivering the baby while the woman's seventeen year old daughter helped.

I healed her next while the mother and baby slept. When they woke up they were given a ride and cash, told the address to a safe house in San Francisco and warned only to call when and if they get compromised or if the new IDs are burned. I told them the car and everything was legal and to stay under the speed limit so they couldn't be caught on camera or stopped. Lauren asked about me being from the future and I told her I knew her and Sydney from the future.

I gave Lauren a stack of cash and told her. "You studied me for John. My blood, my advanced physiology, everything. You saved everyone's lives using what you'd learned from me and your sister Sydney who's immune to a contagion the tin cans introduced to wipe us out."

I put a hand on her cheek and smiled wryly. "Six months later you and I were nearly lovers when the bunker the lab was in was hit by triple eights and liquid metals. After I got you out you had to flee with your sister before we could become serious beyond the flirting jokes and occasional kissing. You were a fighter but John needed you safe and I was his best fighter he needed on the front lines. Two months after that I was sent back to protect John and his mother Sarah."

I smiled wryly and released her. "I guess we're always parting ways. You for your sister and me for John."

She kissed me but I just made it clear she had to go and right now she wasn't who she'd been then, not yet anyways. Lauren got in and told me that if we meet again later since I'm immortal she'd make sure we weren't parted before we were more. I shook my head wryly and told her to live her new life and stay safe with no more calls to former friends or she could put them in worse danger.
