Chapter 4: Liu Lan
Therr were too many things in her head right now; why she was reincarnated again and why this time was different compared to what she experienced in the past. She wanted to explore about it more but those strangers kept calling her so she would notice them. The middle aged woman said to President Qing who was standing slightly behind the family. "President Qing, please check my daughter."
President Qing nodded, "Yes Madam." Then, he called some of the doctors involved in the treatment. As soon as they arrived, they did a complete check up. The result was acceptable. The daughter had regained her consciousnesses, only her physical had some problems that would completely be solved once she undergo a rehabilitation. Everyone in the room heaved a sigh of relief. This time, the young miss of Liu family was back. She was officially awake now!
Well, it was not only the family of Liu's young miss who was feeling joy upon her awakening. All the doctors felt the excitement with different reason. Well, if one could say they finally relieved and freed themselves from the suffocating pressure of the Lius these past three years. Only God knew how happy they were at this very moment. If there were only them, the doctors in the room, they would probably immediately had a celebration banquet. Fortunately, they restrained themselves. One of the doctors said, "We'll make some plan for young miss physical therapy so she can recover soon. We'll excuse ourselves first." Then, all the doctors went out of the room. President Qing congratulated the Lius before he also went out of the room.
The woman said to her daughter. "Little Lan'er, what are you feeling? Are you okay?" She really wished that she could hug her child but her concern outweight her wish at this very moment. She should not move recklessly because her daughter was still weak.
"I'm fine...mom." The young miss, the daughter of the woman who was now possessed by another soul replied hoarsely. She decided to call the woman 'mom' for the time being. First, because she had no idea about her circumstance, she needed to have a safe haven and the family of the body she possessed seemed to have a considerable background and secondly, the woman in front of her was literally her mother because of the body she was in. "Water please, mom."
The mother stunned in disbelief because there was something different with her daughter but she quickly signalled her first son to fetched a glass water. Her daughter was thirsty. Then, she gave it to her daughter.
After she quenched her thirst, she said, "Mom, dad, brothers, why are you all here? Don't you all have some works to do?"
Before the mother could say a word, a cold voice was heard, "Even if I want to work don't you think the empress and emperor in front of you would allow me?" His words werr like a criticism but the seemingly cold tone he made was unable to conceal the joy emanated from his eyes.
"Second brother, why are you being tsundere all of sudden? If I'm not mistaken you were the one who urge us to come here soon the moment we heard little sister wake up. You dumped your work to your secretary right? How about the meeting for collaboration today? Didn't you say to me a week ago that it's important for your company? Why are you here?" Another man with similar face with the first man chided in. He was the eldest brother of the young miss the woman possessed.
"You..." the second brother flushed red in embarrassment. His brother exposed him without any reservation. How could he held his dignity high in front of his sister.
"Alright. Don't fight. Your sister has not even say anything much but you are all this childish?" A middle aged man interjected the his sons from talking further. Then,he asked his daughter with concern. "Little Lan'er, are you okay?"
Little Lan'er, the woman nodded. "I'm okay. Can you all tell me everything happened during my coma?"
Everyone looked at each other. They let the mother to tell everything.
After almost an hour and half, the mother,with the help of the father and the brothers told her everything happened in the past years. Then, when they saw Little Lan'er was exhausted, they went out from the room to prepare her necessities.
The woman who was now in the body of Lius young miss was finally able to grasp the situation she was in. Although she had the memory about this family and sorts about it, after hearing them, she had a clear view about this family and the situation she was in.
The body she possessed was the body of Liu's youngest daughter of Liu Family, Liu Lan. Liu family was a family of tycoons, a giant family which industries spanned for some, if not vital at least important to the country's lifeline. Because of this, they were hailed as one of the four most prestigious family in this country.
Having a great reputation and wealth inevitably made some shrewd people jealous. There were already several attempts to the Liu family members. The mother, Shen Mingzu, the father Liu Deming and brothers, Liu Jianjun and Liu Jianyu had ever suffered because of those people. Fortunately, none of those attempts claimed their life. First, it was probably because those people were not brave enough to make an attempt for their life and second, everyone from Liu family had always been meticulous so it reduced the possibility of those attempts from being successful.
But it was different with Liu Lan, the body she possessed - she was quiet unlucky
Three years ago, she was involved in a car accident that unfortunately almost claimed her life. At that time, she was on the way home from her friend's house before the accident occur.
This accident greatly angered the Lius. They moved their power and personal army to find the culprit. A week after the accident, the culprit went to the police station and confessed to the police about the car accident. He explained that he was under the influence of alcohol. After the investigation, the police concluded that what had happened was exactly the same with the man's confession. So, the man was sentenced to several years of jail.
Liu family of course would not buy this cheap story so they did an investigation on their own. Truthfully, they did an investigation on the same day when the accident occur and linked some clues they found before they concluded that it was a premeditated murder but they were unable to find evidence to prove it was a murder attempt. It was as if the car accident was really an 'accident', not a premeditated murder.
So, after they heard the result of police investigation, they intensity their investigation. After much effort they finally unearthed an important clue. They found a traitor in thier family. One of the staff from their household betrayed them. But, before they could investigate him, the staff died mysteriously. Because of his death, their investigation came to a halt as they didn't have any substantial clues to trace the perpetrator. Liu family could only gritted their teeth and stay low for the time being because they were unable to find the evidence to pointed out that the accident was a murder attempt.
Although they had power and wealth, they couldn't willfully bend the law. It was because their competitors would create an opportunity to bring the Lius down if this situation was really happening - bending the law was a loophole that would surely be exploited by those people. So, for their survival, the Lius had to ensure every step they take was correct. Even so, they allocated some of the man power to keep investigating the perpetrator behind the scene.
