Chapter 3: what could go wrong?
'what could go wrong' boy the number of movies and books I have read would have taught me not to say that, but as I have said multiple times, I am an idiot, boy was I wrong. Slowly moving towards the wolf that was twice as big as me, honestly, I am surprised it could even fit into my house. Anyway moving toward the wolf I saw no signs of hostility I put my hand on its head and got no response the wolf just sat there I started to pet it the wolf it now giving an excited and happy response as I continue " who is a good puppy you are yesh you are" it turns over showing me its belly I give it belly rubs. It was just so cute, so different from the scary monster from before, good thing I'm a dog person "ummm … miss veronica are you sure this is the wolf from last night it seems very different?"
"definitely I can smell it"
"why is it behaving like this?"
"must have imprinted, I killed its master last night, only way to escape, you apparently are the only other human around that it knows that it can bond with"
"excuse me run that by me again"
"ah yes your new to this, this" she points at my new puppy, I wonder what ill call him " is a warg, wargs imprint on a human until the human dies of old age or is killed, then will go on to find another master they will only imprint on humans and only ones they have known beforehand, usually the masters family"
"one meeting is all it took"
"yes that is unusual, but maybe it thinks you smell just as nice as I do"
"wait you think I smell nice"
"yep like a stake" she grins in such a way that I know she is joking but I can't help but feel a little uneasy "so where were we … oh yes so Elliot good exchange?"
"what do you mean"
"you get magic and in return I get whatever residence you will ever reside in and company … deal?"
"deal"
"are you sure?"
"yes"
"like really really sure?" she said this while leaning closer to me
"yes"
"thrice heard and bound by the law of the deal" she said this with a smile as she held her hand out, I took it. Suddenly green and red energy latch onto both of us and somehow, I get this feeling like if I break this arrangement I will die on the spot. "I think I will teach you that one first, you don't even need to be a mage for this one you can use the other persons mana … it makes it easier to trick demons" I gulp, why are there demons too, this isn't fair. I think from now on it will be safe to assume that all things from fairy-tales and myth are real.
"demons?"
"yep ill teach you how to summon those too if you wish" I was about to answer when I hear whining from the wolf … no my new wolf I must have stopped petting him when I was talking, I get back to petting him, he stops whining and begins to pant and wag his tail again genuinely smiling for the first time in ages I think about what my life will become now … I just know that it will be interesting.
I woke up I didn't remember going to sleep my room. From outside I could see that it was late afternoon my curtains opened which is unusual for my room. My room had black walls and blackout curtains I know it's a little edgy but eh I don't care my room rules. I saw I familiar sight from yesterday veronica buck naked I immediately adverted my eyes, cause perfect gentleman over here. I decided to try an experiment just a small one mind you nothing too drastic, I go up to my comics grab a page and give myself a papercut. It was only big enough so I bled a little, but it stung like a bitch. Veronica was sat upright when I looked back her eyes staring at me as she licked her lips "Elliott it is not wise to tease me like this" her voice served as a warning, I could hear the hunger in her voice. I steeled my resolve.
"drink from me" I didn't regret what I said because her eyes widened, and she looked at me with joy, her smile was deep and genuine.
"really" she was next to me in an instant, I tiny bit of fear seeping through into me "what would you like in return?"
"I want you to turn me into a vampire like you" I smiled back at her offering my neck
