Chapter 22: Homecoming (3)

"Mother and father went out of town to look for iron in the nearby mines."

Yllana looked at her sister's face. Her once golden eyes now covered with a piece of yellow cloth with a few stains of blood. Yllana felt her heart being squeezed by an unknown force as she listens silently to her sister's story.

"One of the servants said that our father acquired a treasure from a commoner and it has reached the queen's ears. At first, she asked kindly, sending gold and other treasures in exchange of that stone. But father refused. He never showed me the stone, I never saw it. After the war, the queen already guessed you did not survive because you were not present with the other knights. I don't know how she found out that you were a knight. That's when she had her people raze our estate through the ground. I was out hunting with the other mercenaries when I got hold of the news. I came back as soon as I could but the queen already captured our parents." Yllana clenched her fists and her eyes grew cold. Only Yrah knew that she has entered the imperial army as a knight when she was young. And ever since then, she's been wearing a mask to conceal her hair. She also wraps her chest to hide the fact that she is a woman.

"Have you ever heard of the blood drop stone, sister?" Yllana held Yrah's hand and placed the blood drop stone on it. It gleamed under the bright sunlight. But it didn't produce the same buzzing sound when she held it on her own hands.

"I haven't heard of it before. Is it this stone? This stone seems to hold some sort of strong power. I can feel pressure coming from it. Sister, you must hide this well. I doubt we could exchange it for our parents' lives.

The Queen is a wicked woman. Since father refused to give it to her, she will never let them off easily. I don't know if we can rescue them but we have no power against the crown." Yrah passed the stone back to Yllana's hand and went quiet. It was true that they are weak at the moment. They couldn't face the powerful army of the Emperor.

"How could we get mother and father back then?" Yllana pondered.

"If we sneak out mother and father out of the palace, the queen will hunt us down. That's how proud and wicked she is. She won't stop and she won't yield." Yrah stated.

"If worse comes to worst, then we have to fight back!" with a determined tone, Yllana knew she has to grow stronger.

"Sister, why..." Yrah raised her hand to feel Yllana's aura. "You have become weaker? You were already at the Honor level last time. What happened?"

"A demon cursed me. But you don't have to worry. I will get stronger. I have to. Get some rest. Mira escaped and will be attending to you soon. Nobody knew that I came back so we will stay low for now."

Mira saw Yllana coming out of the room. "Second Young Miss... dinner is ready. I have already delivered it at your room. The mage and the little girl already ate." Yllana uttered a silent thanks and walked past her.

"S-Second Young Miss, your eyes? Are you ok? Do I have to go and fetch the doctor?" Mira asked as she examined Yllana's blood-red eyes.

"It's ok. You don't have to worry about it."

"By the way, I will be going back to the estate tomorrow to get a few things we need. I'll be going alone so look after the First Young Miss and our guests."

"Yes, miss."

Sound of light footsteps whispered almost into nothing inside the Saber Estate. She came in as stealthily as she could to avoid peering eyes. Her red eyes sweep around the common grounds of the estate. She grabbed the space rings she hid in a wall of her room.

'Space rings, the family treasures, and some medicinal herbs, I have to get these quick.' Yllana's thoughts were as clear as day as she lifts her hands to store the things she needed inside her space rings.

Before she stepped a foot outside the estate, her body froze in place. A terrifying force pushed her down to the ground. Her eyes widened in surprise and her heart started trembling when suddenly...

"Oy! Who are you?! What are you doing inside that estate?! This is my woman's place! You dare to-" the shrill voice of a young man echoed through the courtyard. He was about thirteen or fourteen years old with a head full of yellow hair and sea-green eyes.

"You! Wait...you are not my dearly beloved pretty young woman, are you?" He stopped at the gates of the estate and looked at her with squinted eyes. Yllana looked up at the roof in front of her. She was about to jump there if not for this brat who has a terrifying aura around him.

"Oy! I'm talking to you! Don't you dare ignore this handsome man here!" She almost puked from the words she heard. Handsome? Man? She was a head taller than this brat and he dares to call himself a man? How thick can he get?

"I need to get out of here. Let me go." She mumbled under her breath.

"You haven't told me who you are. Seeing that you are trying to escape through the roof you could be a thief who coveted the Saber's belongings. Hand all those you stole to me and I might just cripple you and spare your life." He crossed his arms over his chest showing how haughty he is.

"I own these things, you brat! I don't know who you are and don't let me know because I will hunt you down!" she cursed him through her clenched teeth feeling the pressure getting heavier on her shoulders.

"Tsk, such a pain, idiot..."

She looked from where the voice sounded and saw the familiar black eyes and black hair. It was him! She hadn't thought they would meet again but he's there. He walked in front of her and she felt the pressure ease until she could stand straight again. "Lucien..."

"Hello, idiot."
