Chapter 8: Chapter Eight

Toy Chica leaned back against a wall, sword at her side. Ennard had attacked a few more times, but she had always been able to fight him off. It had been a month since his first appearance.

Bonnie approached her. "You should get some sleep," he said. Toy Chica pointedly ignored him. "You haven't slept for days," he pressed.

"The last time I slept, Ennard was able to get in here without me noticing," she snapped. "I don't need sleep."

"Yes, you do."

"Bonnie, leave me alone." She stalked off. He wouldn't leave her alone! Yes, she still had feelings for him, deep down. But he needed to learn his lesson. She'd ignore him for a little longer.

"Bonnie's right," a voice said from behind her. "How are you going to fight off Ennard if you're exhausted?" Mangle asked. Toy Chica sighed.

"I guess you're right," she agreed. "Just, wake me if anything seems odd, ok?"

"Fine. Now go get some sleep." Toy Chica dismissed her sword and found a place in a corner to rest. She leaned her back and head against one wall and her right side to the other, where she quickly fell asleep.

It seemed like no time had passed when she was shaken awake but she had slept for three hours. "Mmmmmmmm….." she groaned, opening her eyes. Mangle stood over her.

"You need to see this," she hissed, making sure a table was in between her and whatever was over there. "They just appeared. Everyone is laying low, we're not sure what they are." Toy Chica nodded, then peeked over the table. She saw four ghost-like figures standing in the middle of the room, looking about.

"They look like ghosts," she said. "Phantoms, even."

"We figured as much," Mangle replied. "They look like a few of us, too. There's one that looks like me, when my name made sense." Toy Chica glanced again, and saw she was right.

"Stay here," Toy Chica whispered, then crawled away. She snuck up on the phantoms, expertly keeping herself quiet. She hid behind a table, then summoned her sword and threw it at one of the phantoms. It disappeared with a flash. She dismissed the sword from a distance and crawled away as the other three approached where she had been, snarling.

She got herself behind them, then summoned her sword again and leaped, stabbing one through the head. It disappeared with a flash of light too. With a growl, the other two turned to face her, then attacked.

They were strong. Incredibly strong. Even though she had a sword, she could barely keep up with the duo. She switched to defense as they began pushing her backwards. She twitched as she heard a sound behind her, and she turned her head to see the two phantoms she had already killed running to attack her.

She waited until the last second, where she jumped into the air, doing a double backflip and landing gracefully on the ground two yards away from where she was standing. The four phantoms crashed into each other and all disappeared in a flash of light.

Toy Chica waited, sword at the ready. She wasn't taking any chances seeing as how two phantoms had come back to life. Or, not life? She wasn't sure. They were phantoms after all. She turned to see one sneaking up behind Bonnie, who's ears poked out from behind a table. She threw the sword, spearing it through the head. It disappeared. "Thanks!" Bonnie said.

"This doesn't mean I forgive you," she retorted, turning back to see if anyone else decided to attack or be attacked. Nobody appeared. Mangle emerged from her hiding place.

"Where did these things come from?" She asked.

"I don't know," Toy Chica said, dismissing her sword. "But it seems they can't die."

"Yeah," Mangle said. "But you saved Bonnie. Again."

"Shh!" Toy Chica said. "Come with me, I'll explain." She led Mangle into an empty room nearby and shut the door.

"Alright, what's going on?" Mangle asked.

"I… still have feelings for Bonnie," Toy Chica admitted. "But I've been ignoring him because he needs to learn his lesson."

"How long are you going to keep this up?" Mangle asked, folding her arms. "Not forever, I hope?"

"No!" Toy Chica exclaimed. "Just a few more days."

"Promise? I hate to see you and him so miserable."

"I promise," Toy Chica said.

"Good. Now, we need to get back to the stage. It's nearly six." Toy Chica nodded and followed Mangle back out the door. She caught Bonnie watching her as she stopped in her spot. She smiled inwardly.
