Chapter 3: Scared Friends and My Name
School let out right after my Fantasy 101 class and I rushed to get out of the school and head to the game testing area. I knew my friends would have to be there for the gameplay as its in the contract. They dont care if you are throwing up you have to be there or you forfeit all of the money you will earn and can be fined. I arrived to see my friends get out of a taxi together and they seemed to be terrified of something.
"Hey guys and gals, How are you doing? Is something wrong? You all look frightened about something." I ask concerned.
My friends looked at each other and then Claire asked me, "How are you not scared? Were you not greeted as well by your slave in your dreams or nightmares?"
"Slave?" I asked
Ethan nodded his head and looked at me carefully, "How far have you gotten in the game Onyx? Have you not met your slave yet?"
Confused I asked, "I just finished creating my avatar looks but I havent came up with a name yet. What is this slave you are talking about?"
Claire looked at Ethan and whispered something to him then she turned to me and said, "We cant answer that as you are behind us in the game. Just be very careful of the test and make sure you pick wisely with a goal in your head of who YOU want to be and which of the races if you could have as your lackey is clear as well. The results can be a bit frightening if you are not careful. I for one plan to see is I can drop out of this crazy game and I do not have the heart for this kind of game."
"You are such a scaredy cat Claire, Ethan are you going to follow your girlfriend with her decision and back out too. I for one love what I got and whom I was given and it didnt really frighten me at all. I am proud of my choices, You should be too. Own them vs letting them control you." Damien said as he came around the corner.
"Hello Damien," I said trying not to blush.
I have had a huge crush on him for a few years now and we have flirted from time to time but he was always dating someone until a few months ago. This is the first time we have had more then a class in common with each other. He was assigned the room right next to mine in the testing area and we took the same needed breaks together because of it. They never wanted us to be alone during our breaks.
"Hey Onyx, love the outfit today. Its my favorite combo of red and black. I went with black with white accents of skulls today like you wore yesterday. Maybe we should share our contacts and keep in touch to cordinate our clothes more often. Oh and my name in game is Devlin. Feel free to look me up if you want. This is a RPG but also an MMO. Just remember I prefer to relax in the tavern by the river."
I nodded my head and looked at my friends. "Remember Claire and Ethan this is just a game, you choose how you react to what you see and dream about. As for a slave situation, they are just that. A slave by definiton cant disobey you without punishment of some kind. Are you a master who lets them run around and do what they want or are you a master that is firm and strict? I do not know what exactly you are talking about but YOU are the master, command your servant. Do NOT let your slave command you. I know I will be a firm master if I was one and would make sure my slave respected me and obeyed and if it doesnt respect me and obey then I would by Lucifer as my witness I would make him fear me into obedience."
Ethan looked at me and said, "You are so sure of that huh, lets see how you are tomorrow."
I turned around and walked inside the building right after Damien did so I could look at his butt on my way. Once inside I went into my room and changed into the gameplay suit and put my clothes into the locker. I put my head on the wall scanner and the screens dropped around me to hide the modern walls. A chair came out and I took it and put it in my spot. I loved how this game would let me move around and touch items as if they were in real life. It was like I was transported into the game and could actually do something. When I was creating my character I could walk around it and touch it and how I pushed or pulled affected the overall effects. If I walked to the clothes area it was filled with tons of fabrics. I could sort out the fabrics I didnt like and go from there. I was basically god in my avatar creation. That is why I was late getting home last night.
My character screen came up and I went to the name area. I was trying so hard to come up with a name for my character. I thought about what we just talked about and my name just came to me. I knew what race I wanted to get and what race I hated so I should make sure my name reflects that. Walking over to the name part I tapped it and put in the name Lilith. I thought about it again and confirmed the name.
The room went pitch black and the words Welcome Lilith popped up all around me. I couldnt help smiling and saying, "Thanks for the welcome let the games begin."
A voice started to speak" Welcome to the game, we will now begin the questions that will allow us to customise your race and gameplay so you get the best experience that you can. First we will ask you about different abilities and you will be able to select the ones that are your favorite. Then we will move on to races you like and dont like. Finally we will ask you questions about how you view things in everyday life. Any questions before we begin? Do you need me to repeat what I have said again?"
"I have no questions and am ready to begin."
