Chapter 3: How He Creates His Pills
Ragus sighed since they aren't going to leave any time soon.
He made his way towards the location where he had placed many pits.
"Well, come at me, vicious mutts." Ragus spoke, still holding the spikes on his hands.
The alpha started to rush, moving away from the pits as it charges at Ragus without care.
Ragus's eyes flickered with light, the alpha thought that he will use the spikes again, hence, he decided to take the first move to catch the enemy off guard, but to think that...
Ragus threw the spikes down, he immediately clenched his fists, he stood firmly and at the next instant, he punched.
The alpha wolf jumped, with no way to avoid a punch while it's midair, it received a punch from its neck
Swish~ Pak!
"Khahak!" The alpha wolf was sent away a few meters from its previous location, bearing the pain from its neck, it slowly stood up.
But Ragus didn't stop there: "Die you useless mutt!"
This time, he's the one that jumped, with a kick aimed at the wolf's head.
The alpha wolf still trying to balance itself couldn't dodge.
Pak~! BAM!
Ragus's kick landed on its face, slamming it on to the ground forcefully.
The alpha wolf yelps from the pain while Ragus's feet still stepping on its head, the latter then glared at the remaining wolf, but instead of backing away, the wolves actually glared more fiercely than before.
"The heck is wrong with all of you?!" Ragus couldn't help but exclaim helplessly, to think that even killing a wolf and then pummeling the alpha wolf isn't sufficient to force these wolves away from fear and actually became fiercer.
Ragus sighed, he removed his foot from the alpha wolf's head.
But then, he noticed something, the alpha wolf's stomach is actually too thin: "How many days had you all not eaten?"
The wolf is already beaten quite harshly with two attacks, but its eyes still fiercely glaring at him.
Ragus shook his head and then took something out of his pouch, a round blue pill and approached the alpha wolf.
"Grrrrr!" All of the wolves growled.
"Wooo." As they were about to charge, the alpha wolf seemingly stopped them in fear that more of them will die if they continue any further, so long as they can leave this place, then, they'll definitely stay as far away from this place as possible.
Ragus continued to approach the alpha wolf.
"Grrrr." This time, the alpha wolf is the one that tried to shooe Ragus away.
Ragus sighed, he then immediately threw the pill at the alpha wolf's mouth and kicked its jaw to close it completely.
The alpha wolf yelped, but as the pill melts in its mouth, the alpha wolf's health slowly returned to normal, it slowly stood up and licked its mouth until the flavor of the pill completely vanished from it.
Ragus sighed, he stood up and slowly backs away: "Now, get out of the village before someone else kills you, and remember to not come back!"
Sadly, the wolves couldn't really communicate with a human.
But for some reason, the alpha wolf made a sound before retreating back to the forest dragging their dead friend away too.
Ragus sighed: "Finally, I thought it will last longer than that..."
As he thought of this, he continued placing the stakes inside the pits and covering it up so that it wouldn't be visible to a monster's eyes, after all, there may be a next pack that will visit his house.
Dawn already appeared when he finished, the next thing he did is to sigh another time due to a depressing event, he took his pouch out and glanced at the pills inside.
"Nine..." Each of these pills is called 'Candy', it's something that he had been making himself.
And every day, he feeds them to his children.
He made his way to the end of his field, and there, a ten-meter squared land can be seen, planted are different kinds of medicinal plants.
"This, I'd have to make an extra."
He looked at the herb and touched it.

He plucked six of them and then walked to another plant.

Ragus sighed, these herbs are hard to make. especially when all of them are not available in this world, instead... he created them himself!
Ragus returned home with a heavy heart and took out a cauldron from underneath his house.
He placed it out and started heating it up: "Since I can't control mana to heat something as simple as this, it's a really troublesome thing to do."
It took nearly an hour before the cauldron heated up completely, he filled half of it with water as it started to boil immediately.
He placed all of the herbs he picked inside and started mixing it with a long steel spoon.
After a while, only 1/20 of the liquid remained, he immediately poured it on a bowl to cool it off.
Afterward, he cooked a pot of rice and mixed it together with a third of his concoction.
Ragus heaved a sigh of relief and started to make it form into a round pill, the remaining concoction is then used to make the rice more shiny and firm like that of a candy.
After an hour, he stood up, he heaved a sigh of relief: "I think I won't be able to guard the fields today, I'll ask someone to do it on my stead."

Ragus smiled at them and nodded his head: "All five of you will be having your birthday in six days, dada will go out tomorrow and head to the city to buy you all gifts!"
"Yehey!"
Ragus smiled satisfied at his children, he couldn't help but utter in a low tone: "A peaceful life doesn't sound so bad."
