Chapter 3: Hunting the Mana Wolves
Arriving to the area where he remembered feeling another group of mana signals, Xol took out again a spear from his inventory.
'This should be the place, did they already move?' Xol wondered as he scanned closely the area.
Closing his eyes Xol tried to feel any mana signal in the immediate area before trying again his Mana Sonar skill.
Feeling some mana signals, Xol smiled ´Good seems I can save some mana before using it again´
Moving in the direction he felt the mana signals, he found 3 mana wolves wandering around.

'I should wait for them to cluster together before trying to use Mana Bomb and save some mana' Xol pondered as he watched the group.
Waiting for a opportunity, the LVL 7 Wolf sniffed Xol and glanced at Xol. Being found out Xol shot 2 Mana Bullets toward it, taking a chunk of its HP. Growling at Xol, it charged at Xol, hearing the combat the other 2 wolves turned around, one of them following his partner in the charge while the other shot a ball of mana toward Xol.
Fending the first wolf and throwing him toward the incoming mana ball, Xol shot a Mana Bullet toward the second wolf aiming for its mouth, taking advantage of the successful impact, Xol dodged the wolf.
Glancing at the first wolf, that was recovering its bearings, Xol shot a mana bullet at him finishing him off. Redirecting his attention toward the other wolves, Xol ducked as the wolf that had shot a mana ball at him was currently pouncing at him.
*Swoosh
Xol swept his spear making some room for himself, one wolf received damage while the other fully dodged him.
Both wolves started circling in opposite direction looking for a chance to attack Xol, as he tried to keep them at bay with the spear. Seeing an opportunity Xol sidestepped and used mana bomb on the wolves, barely dodging the explosion.
Shooting a Mana Bullet at the one who had less HP, Xol charged at the other one and pierced it side, finishing them off.
Sitting on the ground as he recovers from the battle, Xol checked the Jade Token and his status afterward.

Smiling as his progress, Xol quickly moved to another area he still remember with mana signals.
Arriving at the area, Xol tried to sense the area for wolves, but wasn´t as successful like his prior time. Xol decide to use again his Mana Sonar skill and moved toward the closest group that should b the one he came looking.
Finding another pack of 3 wolves Xol planned to replicate his previous success, sadly it didn´t went as he hoped.
It took him longer to kill the first wolf of the pack and they managed to hit with 2 mana balls before achieving this, once he took care of the first one, he got glazed by a mana ball before finishing off the remaining two.
Seeing that his killed wolves only went up by 1, Xol felt as if a cold water was dumped on his head.

'Seems like I need to be more cautious against a pack of 3, packs of 4 or more are big nono and pack of 2 be the safest but I shouldn´t underestimated them either way.' Xol reflected about his experience in hunting the wolves.
'Also I was sure I get at least 2 wolves since I managed to do around half their health in mana damage but only got one' Xol continued reflecting as he searched for a safe place to recover his health.
Finding a tree tall enough, with a good amount of leaves, Xol climbed it as he waited for his HP to recover.
'Should I go now or wait to recover more HP' Xol pondered after seeing he fully recover his mana but only managed to recover 120 HP. 'Each of those mana balls they shoot at me take around 180 and 210 off my HP´
´Let's see if I can find a lone wolf and test the amount needed of mana damage before looking for bigger pack´ Xol decided after some thinking. Climbing down, Xol used Mana Sonar and moved to the smallest mana signal.
Finding a pair of wolves, Xol moved onto other signals trying to find a lone wolf but he couldn´t find a good target. Once the cooldown of the Mana Sonar was up, he repeated his actions. Taking him around 15 minutes, he managed to find a lone wolf.
Fighting the wolf, Xol tried to only deal mana-based damage until he took a little over half of its health, once that was done, he switched to using only his spear until he killed the wolf.
'Seems like I need to deal even more damage than only half their health' Xol thought after seeing his kill count the same as before fighting the lone wolf.
Seeing that he had recover a good amount of health he returned to hunting wolves packs.
Going to the smallest signal he remembered of his prior Mana Sonar usage, he found 2 LVL 7 wolves. Waiting for them to be close enough, he fired a Mana Bomb toward them. Unlike the first time, he shot 2 Mana Bullets to the wolf that received the most damage from the explosion.
Seeing its partner in a pinch, the healthiest started shooting mana balls nonstop covering the second wolf as it struggled to its feet. Returning fire as he dodged, Xol managed to hit each wolf 1 time but he got grazed by one mana ball in doing so.
Seeing his partner up they started charging toward Xol, pouncing at him at the same time, sidestepping toward the wolf with the least health and slashing it, killing in the process. The remaining wolf tried to slash Xol after landing but Xol block him with his weapon.
'Lets try going over 1300 mana damage before going for the kill' Xol thought as he took some steps away and shooting a mana bullet at the wolf.
The wolf quickly jumped off and shot a man ball at him, moving forward as he dodged, Xol fire a Mana Bullet at it and killing it off with a stab on its side.
'Looks like I need around 1300 mana based damage for it to count.' Xol came in conclusion seeing both wolves tallied in the Jade Token.
Considering this information, Xol continued his hunting. Staying away from the biggest mana signals which he though where packs of either 4 or 5 wolves, Xol hunted packs of 2 and only when his HP was full would he engage with packs of 3. If he felt tired or he received damage Xol would climb a tree to rest and recover his HP.

Seeing that the Jade token was glowing green, Xol couldn´t contain his excitement as he jumped for clearing the first trial.
'Seeing as I can use the skill anytime I want, lets explore the mountain' Xol though as he glanced with gleaming eyes toward the mountain. 'Dungeons are meant for being explore after all'
Walking toward the mountain, Xol used Mana Sonar to avoid any unnecessary fight.
