Chapter 1: Slave Sisters
"Sister I'm hungry" my younger sister, Diana cling to me while trembling
"Don't worry Diana older sister will find a way to feed you okay?" I smiled warmly to make her feel better
"Oum" she shyly nod her head
A way to feed my sister... Even though I said that I couldn't think of any way to feed ourselves.
"LINE UP!! I PREPARED A NEWLY FRESH BAKE BREAD FOR ONLY CHEAP AS 3 BRONZE" that old man always shout even though his body is weak, actually he don't have to do that everyone love his breads afterall
"Hey sister... isn't that the mister who gave us a piece of delicious bread yesterday" Diana point out the old man and I strongly nod
"Then maybe... He... He will give us some again" she start crying while holding her chest
"Calm down Diana you stay here I'll go and ask if he can give us some leftovers again, okay" I sat her at the floor and pat her head
"COME ON BE FAST FOLKS THIS BREAD WILL DISAPPEAR IN INSTANT!!" as the people gathered... I don't know why fear suddenly started eating me
I wish I had money like these people, I wish I can wear those pretty and long dresses like these leadies, I wish I had title or property like these men... I'm afraid if I step out of the light, these people will kill me and my sister
"Sister?" Diana called me so I look at her
'Ahhh... she dying in hunger... but aren't I the same too' I look at the chain in my feet and the seal in my palm
"WHHHAAAAA!!!" I was shocked at the shout of the woman who is infront of me I looked at her as she looked at me with a disgusting look
"A RUNAWAY SLAVE!!" the people gathered around and picked up stones big or small it doesn't matter as long it can harm or kill
"Sister!!" I look back at Diana and signal her to go away and hide in the dark
"GO!!" I shout and suddenly a man pulled me out of the dark and throw me at the ground that is full of light
'Ahhh... I just want to get us some food, I didn't commit any crime, I'm just only 7 years old and yet this body is about to die' I stand up and walk towards to the old man baker
"Please give me a piece of bread and a cup of water, I'm tortured by hanger and dying by thirst... Please have mercy on me Mister" I cling to his feet but he froze... well ofcourse he will, after all helping a slave is a grave sin in this town
"Please Mister, I can feel and see that you have a big and kind heart so please help me" I hate this!! Begging for help, lowering your head for help I hate this!!
"I do have a big and kind heart" he response I looked up but all I can see in his face is disgust and guilt
'I see that is your answer... even though you helped us yesterday you will let me die today huh hahahaha it's funny how these humans just want to keep their image'
He kicked me, so now I'm back lying in the ground
'Actually it is tiring... this life of humans that is' people start throwing stones like I have committed aldultery and robbery
"OUT OF MY WAY!!" a man? maybe they are passers with a bunch of horses with them
"What is happening here?" he asked the old man baker and he just pointed me with that worried look, I sat up to show this man who is he trying to save
"Woah, a beastman! A rare and powerful type of beastman huh? I wonder what kind of animal are you?"
'Huh? how... how does he knew? I hid my ears and my tail even the presence of that beast inside of me... how... how this man knew by just one look'
"Hey little beastman slave, your sister did really a great job finding me" he dismount his horse and walk towards me... what should I do? I'm scared, so scared that I'm trembling with fear
"Come with me, I shall bring you to the mansion and make a good use of you, little beastman slave" he smiled at me and reach out his hand
'Why... If you help me you'll be in danger, so why... why are you looking at me with those kind eyes, why are you reaching your hand to a dirty child like me'
"Why..." I whispered as I look down at the ground, the light is being covered by his shadows
"Hahahhahhahha why you asked?" He laugh and still reaching to me, so I look at him
"The answer is simple, its because I want to" he smiles
'Is he an idiot?' without realizing I was holding his hands
"What is your name?" he asked as he support me to stand up and maintain my balance
"My name is Athena" I look at him
"Well then Athena, I'm William its really nice meeting you" huh? why did I felt a slight pinch in my chest? ... there isn't any sad happened but why?
'Why am I crying? Is this... Human emotions?'
