Chapter 56: Mana Origin and Vacations.

Just wanted to say that I might have made the reasoning of Konrad sound a bit weird in this chapter but just go with the fact that they both wanted to have some vacation. Hope you like it no matter what weird mind shortcuts i made here today XD

It was bizarre...Konrad looked at the stone obelisks with a look of wonder and fascination.
The Mana was slowly pulled towards the edge of the pyramidal shape at the top from all around the obelisk, before moving towards the top and clashing with the Mana from the three other sides. The clashing Mana would then spin randomly, and after a while, return back to the surroundings..
"What is it Daddy?" Asked Octavia. She saw his weird expression so she guessed that he found something. She could also feel something with her Mana Sense but it was much worse than Konrad so she only felt a weird breeze.
Konrad explained what he saw, making Octavia very interested.
"Is there some kind of magical inscription or special material used in those obelisks?" Octavia asked but Konrad shook his head.
"No...it's just stone as far as I know...that's why it's so interesting...i need to use Observe. Give me a second." He said before activating the skill on one of the bigger Obelisks.

Description - An obelisk made in honor of God Ra. It was made as a monument to stand in front of the temple of Ra in the vicinity of Sakkara. It consist mostly of Granite but the pyramid-shaped tip was covered in gold to flaunt wealth and 'strenghten the connection with god'.
Because of the tip having the shape of 'Divine Connection', Mana in the surroundings gets pulled towards the obelisk and regenerated under the powers of Nature.
The golden tip improves the process.

Konrad's eyes opened wide. This...This obelisk was a Mana generator!
His eyes darted over to all the other Obelisks in the room, neither of them reaching the same amount of generation but all of them doing so nonetheless!
A pyramid was really a magical shape! Not exactly like people believed but if what he just read was truth for any pyramid shaped object, then Mana was actually slowly being produced in the world! It was an amazing discovery!
Konrad was really shocked and either was Octavia after he told her what he found.
It was also another big research for the two of them, and he couldn't wait to finally make their 'Secret Base'!
Suddenly a thought went through his head. 'And what about the Great Pyramids?!' This thought made him even more excited to visit them. He was only two kilometers from them so Konrad could very well visit them even today, but it was already getting late and he wanted to see them in the daylight. He would have to postpone their sightseeing for another day. After all, they still had to look through this museum a bit more thoroughly.

Two days passed and surprisingly, they didn't find anything more worth mentioning in the museum... But Konrad wasn't discouraged. He enjoyed the trip and Octavia was just happy to be with Konrad so all was good.
It was time to finally see the Great Pyramids of Giza!
Konrad took a cab, and before long, the duo stood once again in front of the Grand Egyptian Museum. he decided to take the trip from here because he wanted to observe the Mana fluctuations and he could clearly see the Pyramids from afar.
The duo started their walk as soon as the cab was gone. In the beginning Konrad didn't feel any changes, but the more he tried to sense the Mana, the more he was assured that...it was increasing the closer he got!
It was not a recent discovery for him that Mana Would usually spread rather evenly, meaning that if a place was more Magically saturated from the surroundings then the Mana would spread to stabilize the amount, and the same could be said here.
He didn't realize that the entire city had much more Mana than his village until he tried to compare the two. But as he approached the Pyramids, he could clearly feel the source of Mana of the entire City, or maybe one of the main sources of Mana of the entire present world!
The Great Pyramids!
Konrad could feel big amounts of Mana condensing and crawling up the triangular slopes, before clashing and turning in a mystical dance that slowly produced even more Mana than there was before.
He tried to take it all in before glancing at the biggest of the three pyramids. He hoped that Observe could work on such a huge building...

His resting place, that was never discovered, exists in between the lower chamber and the Queen's chamber.
The Tomb's shape originally formed the perfect "Divine Connection" Mana Generation form.
Due to the the disappearance of the limestone that covered and smoothed the Pyramid, the ability to generate Mana greatly diminished. Only the size of the Pyramid allowed it to keep it's position as the strongest source of Mana in the world after the XXXX.
Thanks to this building, The depleted Mana could recover by a miniature margin, through releasing over one hundred milion Mana points into the atmosphere after all the years of it's existence.

One Hundred Milion!!! It was a crazy number!
Konrad tried to understand the implicationd of releasing so much Mana into the air...but then it struck him.
'How much Mana could the entire planet contain?...And it was released in the timespan of over three thousand years...' Konrad thought before finally understanding.
The world was huge!
If so much Mana spread evenly on the entire planet... then it wouldn't be much!...and three thousand years was certainly enough to spread it.
'A minuscule amount, huh? Then how much Mana was there before this "whatever happened" actually happened?!' Konrad couldn't get his head around it.
But he couldn't just stand here contemplating all day. He still needed to decided what to do with the second part of what he read.
There was an undiscovered chamber! Should he go in? Tell somebody, or what? No one would believe him without mind magic and was there a point to tell them...no...from another perspective, was there a need for HIM to go there?...He didn't expect to find much more than the Meteorite Dagger he saw the other day.
Even though it was an interesting discovery, he just... didn't feel like grave robbing today...It was really confusing, because every other day he would jump on the chance of basically exploring a dungeon...
He asked Octavia and surprisingly, he received a similar reply from her.
Both of them wanted to just relax today...
"Huh...it was a really long time since we had vacation right Octavia? It's always training, learning and research. Is it weird for me to say that I'm actually, currently not interested in checking out an untouched Pharaoh Tomb?" He said to her getting a response.
*No Daddy... Surprisingly, i also feel like we should get some rest. You always work so hard and when we finally have some free time, even more researches appears to take it away. We are basically tourists so let's act like them for a while. This tomb was here for over three thousand years, so it wouldn't disappear if we dilly dally.* Said Octavia after jumping onto Konrad's shoulders and wrapping around his neck like a scarf.
The Formation she carried inside of her instantly affected Konrad, making both of them invisible and Ignored.
He caressed her slime affectionately and said.
"I know your excited with this sudden idea of leisure vacation, but if you stay like this, i won't be able to buy you your favourite ice cream."
Octavia suddenly stiffened and then slithered down his body like a snake before converging back into a ball shape and jumping in excitement all around him.
*Ice cream, Ice cream, Ice cream, Ice cream!!!*

Strolling the city, visiting museums, eating delicious food and relaxing on the beach were only the time of the iceberg that represented all the activities Konrad and Octavia enjoyed on their vacation. They of course didn't stop their regular training but Konrad was already at a point where Increasing his Mana capacity was very unproficient with the technique he used. He needed to figure out another technique, or make some kind of magic device to help him exhaust his Mana or stop the regeneration temporarily. Until then he focused on his Mana cotton and Mana Sense.
As for Octavia. She continued with her regular training in slime control but also tried her best in controlling her Mana like Konrad.
In that leisure pace, two weeks passed in the blink of an eye. They didn't make much progress in their strength but it was their vacations after all.
In the end they had a great time, so it was a time we'll spend in their opinion.
Now it was time to take care of all the other matters. Like for example...A certain set of buckets that contained a bit over one hundred litters of blood...
//Right... honestly i didn't have any intention to make the Cheops Tomb as there is really no need for that. there are more pressing matters than that and it's just a Tomb. At most he would find some meteoric iron and...hmm...actually maybe I'll actually do something hehe... Whatever i decide, For now he has over a hundred gacha openings to do and this is going to be a real pain in the ass to write LOL//
