Chapter 2: Chapter 1
Have you ever felt empty? Alone, or even not loved? Well I have, ever since I could remember, I felt that way. No one loved me, nobody cared what I had to say. But at this point in my life, I can't think about that.
"Thank you, come again!" I said forcing a smile. The cafe was 14 minutes away from closing. I got my stuff ready since it didn't look like anybody was coming. *DING* There was a man at the door. He was wearing a black hat with a black cover mask. He also had Adidas stripe pants with black converse high tops. He looked behind him with his hands in his pockets.
"Hi, how can I help you?" I said smiling. "I, uh...can I get green tea, please?" He said stuttering. I could tell he was worried or bothered about something. "Okay, anything else?" He turned back at me. "Oh, no thanks." I nodded and turned to mix the water with the teabag.
He sat at one of the tables near the counter. I could hear very faded yells...like girls? I heard him say "Oh, sh*t!" Before I could even ask what was going on, he was already almost behind the counter. He must have jumped over. He ducked low and held my hand.
"What the hell are you doing!" I said in anger. He just put his hand over my mouth and told me to be quiet. I managed to get him off of me but tripped back. I fell on him and I accidentally pressed my lips on his. I blushed so hard I threw back. "I-I I'm so sorry, I didn't me-" he stopped me. "It's okay, it was an accident. To pay me back, could you please tell those girls I'm not here...please?"
Before I could answer, I could hear girls screaming "Jay!" or "Jayden!" outside of my cafe. I turned back at him, "Fine, stay here." I got up and went to the front door. "Yes?" The girls stopped talking. One of the girls in front said "Hi, did you see a man dressed in all black?" I tried to look confused as I could. "Umm, I don't accept robber like people inside my cafe, now kids you go along and play before I call your parents."
Even though they looked only a couple of years younger than me, I still tried to act 10 years older than them. The girl rolled her eyes, "Fine old lady, me and my Jay Fan Club will go." As soon as she said that, her and her 'club' were gone.
I heard clapping from the counter. "Well done, great acting." I tried to keep a straight face but when he laughed I couldn't help it. I never felt this way before. Is this what you call 'fun'?
"Well since you saved my life, can I have your number." I looked at him. "I-I don't have a phone." He looked at me with shock. "So, you never had a phone before?" I nodded. "Well let's go get you one!" Before I could even look back at him, he grabbed my hand and walked out the door.
He took out his phone still holding my hand. "Yes, yeah can I get my car. I'm at Henry's Cafe. Okay, thanks." He put his phone in his pocket. "So beauty, what's your name?" He smiled. "Oh, sorry. My name is Mayla. What's yours?" I asked blankly. "My real name is Jayden, but everybody calls me Jay. By the way, cute name. It suits you."
I've never felt this before, today I'm learning so many things because of this guy. Is this what you call making a friend, wow it's amazing. "Thank you, Jay" He nodded with a smile.
A black LaFerrari appeared in front of us. A man in a black suit came out with keys. Here you are Mr. Hovi. "Ben, my dude Ben, you don't always have to call me by my surname." I couldn't tell what was happening. "Fine, Jayden here's the keys to your car." He grabbed the keys, "That's more like it 'Benny'." I giggled.
As we were inside the car, I saw Jay put down his mask. I stared at him with aw, he looked at me. "Beauty, I know I'm soOO0o handsome but you're gonna have to save it for later." He smirked. I just turned away in embarrassment. "Y'know, you're quite dumb." I looked at him. "Hey! That 's mean, take that back!" He chuckled. "You didn't let me finish, Beauty." I looked at him still mad. "You're dumb by letting a man that you don't know take you somewhere. Luckily, I don't take advantage of women, it's wrong and disgusting."
I stared at him, he isn't like anyone I've ever met. How grateful can a person be? "I followed you because you were different," I said playing with my fingers. "You're the 2nd best person I met." He looked at me confused. "2nd?" I smiled. "Yup, 2nd. But if it makes you happy. You're 1st on being annoying!" I laughed. He turned to me and looked back on the road, "You're one real interesting girl." He chuckled.
I think this is going to be a fun day. C:
