Chapter 39: Variation fae
Stepping out into the vast forests outside of Parachenko Village, Arthur took in a deep breath of air, letting his origin essence circulate calmly throughout his body.
The difference between vapour quartz origin essence and liquid quartz origin essence, wasn't just the concentration and purity of origin essence, but also how a Fae Master controlled and manipulated origin essence.
Any sought of vapour origin essence was inert, stagnant, and needed time and effort to be able to be manipulated efficiently.
The first month of Lectures with the Elders were mainly regarding the usage of origin essence, and how to manipulate it and let it flow into their Fae, in order to utilise their abilities.
To much origin essence pushed into a fae can sometimes damage them, while too little will make the activated ability fail, and cause a rebound that could fatally harm the Fae Master in most cases.
Once a Fae Master got used to using vapour origin essence, they would find that liquid origin essence responds to the wishes of the Fae Master much easier, and would have a smoother time cultivating, as well as activating Fae.
The liquid state of origin essence flowed smoothly throughout Arthur's body.
It was much more potent that vapour origin essence, and without the impurities that he remembered there being.
In his previous life, Arthur had to use a Impurity Eater Fae in order to get rid of these impurities, and had to spend a pretty penny in order to do so.
Without the need for an impurity eater, Arthur's future cultivation would go a lot smoother.
He smiled.
"In order to prepare for the future, I need specific fae in order to specially prepare me. So I don't lose out during these events, and so that I don't need to fear the repercussions of my actions".
Arthur' smile grew, as he arrived at the stream where he had planted the Ten Year Stony Bark.
Winter had yet to come around this year, so the Ten Year Stony Bark plan had yet to bear fruit.
However-.
"There are somethings that I can do, that I can use in the future".
Arthur was now a liquid quartz origin essence Fae Master. His abilities and gains were only limited by his cultivation.
Putting down a bag filled with Fae materials in them, Arthur picked out the large jar of wild beast pheromones, before placing it down carefully onto the soft grass.
This next plan of his would be even more bloody than the time he tried to form the bloodseeker leaf fae.
One of the Thirteen Great Fae Mysteries of the World is why Fae Masters from one Continent, couldn't create fae from other Continents in their own.
Some speculated that this was the result of heavenly laws, which forbid those from forming fae in places where the specific heavenly laws needed to create them didn't exist.
Some believed that the powers of fae only resided in one region. And that while every region could support humans, due to their non-innate connection to the Heavens and the Earth, fae could not.
However, some fae could exist in multiple regions, such as the origin essence gathering tree, or the spirit essence gathering tree.
Most just believed that the heavenly laws about this fae resided all over the Thirty-Three Heavens, but some people just weren't convinced.
Arthur.... for whatever reason, created a fae that shouldn't, or couldn't exist in the Azure Envy Continent, or at least one that couldn't be created in the Azur Envy Continent.
For whatever reason, he had gone against heavenly laws, and created something.... abnormal.
This particular.... abnormality had always puzzled Arthur.
If for some reason the heavenly laws weren't.... applied to him, or for some reason, ignored him, then-.
His smile became more of a smirk as he took out the last Fae material from his bag.
"Then shouldn't I make the most of it?".
In some of the other Continents in First Heaven, there existed variations of certain fae.
The origin essence gathering tree and the spirit essence gathering tree were remarkably important fae, which all Clans and Sects protected and nurtured with their lives.
Origin essence gathering trees could create origin essence stones.
While spirit essence gathering trees could congregate the essence of the heavens and the earth in order to create an area where flora and fauna grow at a remarkable rate. These specific fae could influence the creation of spirit beasts as well as Fae materials.
However, very much like the bloodseeker fae and the bloodseeker leaf fae, there existed variations of the same fae.
In the Viridian Greed Continent there existed the wood essence gathering tree. Which promoted the growth of plants and flora spirit beasts as well as the chance of forming a wood attributed fae.
On the Crimson Wrath Continent, there existed the flame essence gathering tree. Which promoted the development of fire spirit beasts, fire attributed fae materials as well as the chance of forming flame attributed fae.
On the Violet Lust Continent, there existed the harmonious essence gathering tree. Which promoted the growth rate and reproduction of spirit beasts and fae materials by several folds. Additionally, having two of these specific fae working in tandem will produce an effect far greater than just using a single one.
It didn't have the ability to form fae, but those Clans and Sects on the Violet Lust Continent mainly specialized in using fae to tame and capture spirit beasts.
From the Golden Sloth Continent, there also existed two variations of the origin essence gathering tree. One was called the night gathering essence tree, while the other was called the day gathering essence tree.
These specific fae could generation sunlight and moonlight, promoting the growth of certain fae materials that needed large amounts of daylight or moonlight in order to grow.
While these fae had derived away from their original ability, that is, to create origin essence, they could create an area where certain types of materials, or certain types of fae had a higher chance of being created.
This was the type of fae Arthur wanted to create.
However this one was from the Orchid Gluttony Continent.
Arthur took out a large shovel and starting digging in a spot close to the riverbank. This particular fae needed lots of nutrients in order to grow, so placing it near a river, or a large body of water was a must.
The hole was at least a foot deep, causing Arthur to nod slightly as he picked up the bodies of over a dozen rabbits which he had just purchased.
For this particular fae, one needed a large amount of blood and flesh. Bone wasn't really necessary, but bone powder was an excellent material which greatly increased the chance of this fae forming.
Arthur wanted to purchase the bone powder of spirit beasts, but just shook his head when he saw the prices that the shopkeeper was offering.
'I have enough for three chances, so things hopefully won't be too bad', he thought
He had gotten lucky with the bloodseeker leaf fae, but that didn't mean he would get lucky with this particular fae.
Which is why Arthur had purchased enough for three of these fae.
This was only a Rank 1 Fae, even though it could be promoted to Rank 2, and even Rank 3 with the materials in Azure Envy Continent.
Taking five of the fifteen rabbits out of his bag, Arthur quickly pulled out a knife, dismembering the rabbit, taking off its skin and fur while leaving the blood and flesh relatively intact.
Arthur removed the bones of all these animals and placed them on the side.
Next, he gathered the flesh and blood from these animals and placed them in a single hole.
Arthur had dug three holes, and placed five rabbits in each hole. The scent of blood quickly filled the air.
Arthur placed a bundle of leaves from the spirit essence gathering tree, in addition to 250 millilitres of Spirit Water in each hole, letting it splatter on the pool of blood and bones in the holes beneath him.
'The next step is to place the poison around the holes'.
Arthur had purchased quite a few different poisons from the Clan, one's that were fatal to wild beasts or spirit beasts when touched.
These poisons included the Black Night Flower Pollen, the venom from a venom spider spirit beast, the thorns from a Thorny Poison Rose as well as the scentless Consciousness Lotus.
The Consciousness Lotus could knock out beasts and lower their guards. At the first whiff, they wouldn't noticed anything different about them, but after a total of seven whiffs of the Consciousness Lotus, even Rank 1 Fae Masters would have trouble staying awake.
This particular material cost the most out of all of Arthur's purchases today. A total of 10 origin essence stones for this single Fae material.
Arthur placed them neatly around the holes, holding his breath as he poured the final material all around the edges of said holes.
The wild beast pheromones.
Arthur had purchased both wolf, bear and deer pheromones for this occasion, seeing as though the more blood and flesh he gathered the better his chances of these fae to form.
The moment Arthur poured these pheromones out of the jar, he immediately picked up his backpack and knives retreating back towards Parachenko Village.
He had been careful not to get any of the pheromones on him, but just to be careful he headed straight back towards the Village.
These Fae needed a much longer time to form, in comparison to the bloodseeker leaf fae. At least a couple months before any of them would form.
Arthur smiled slightly, turning back to look at the direction where he had placed his little "experiment".
"If I can form a blood essence gathering tree, I wouldn't have to worry about the coming beast tide at the end of the year".
