Chapter 1: Memory

I woke up with a head-splitting pain as I unconsciously scrunched up my eyebrows together.

[Ah... I shouldn't have drank too much] I thought as I clutched my head with my left hand and probed for my phone with my right hand.

When I still felt the mattress, it was then that I opened my eyes and realized that my twin-sized bed suddenly became queen-sized and is surrounded by carved wooden pillars lined with embroidered cloth curtains.

I also noticed that I am clothed in a pastel pink robe with my hair, which used to be shoulder length, flowing down my shoulders and have pooled in circles on the bed.

"What..." I can only utter so as I try to assess the situation before me and tried to sit up with my free right hand blocking the radiant rays of sunlight shining through the open window.

Well, as much as I could since I can't really think that much with such an intense headache.

"Eldest Miss, you're awake!" A concerned and gentle voice attracted my attention as I faced towards the source and saw a woman in her thirties with tears in her eyes.

She placed the tray in her hand on a nearby table and hurriedly went beside me as she helped me sit up properly while saying "Thank goodness." repeatedly.

"Someone call the physician! Somebody also go and inform the general that the Eldest Miss has finally woken up." The woman ordered the people outside the room.

I, on the other hand, am greatly baffled with the turn of events as I looked from her beautifully done-up braided hair with a simple hairpin stuck in it to her moss green hemp overlap robe with simple embroideries of daisies, a fashion that can only be seen in ancient Asian cultures.

[Transmigration, really?]

My headache is getting worse as I feel the absurdity of what's before me.

"Eldest Miss, are you alright?" The woman asked me, visibly concerned with my lack of response.

"Who..?" I asked timidly but the woman wasn't able to reply because a group of people came in wearing the same weird trend of clothing.

[Why am I having such an absurd dream? I really should lay off those novels.]

"Eldest Miss, this is the physician. Please let him examine you." The woman gently said as she moved aside to let the man he called a physician be in front of me.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to register his questions as the intense headache had taken over me.

When I reopened my eyes, I found that it's already dark but I'm still in the same room as before.

Thankfully, I found that my headache hurts less than before and is now manageable. It would probably be great to drink a hangover soup right now.

I, then, carefully sat up to not alert the people outside, whose silhouette I can faintly see through the gaps between the door and the wooden floor, as I process the situation alone.

Right after thinking that, a flood of memories of a flashed into my brain. Strangely, though, it doesn't feel uncomfortable nor, oddly enough, foreign.

It just feels me.

I slowly went towards the bronze mirror by the dresser table as I sat before it and looked at my appearance as I digest the memories I just acquired, or my memories? Well, as much as I could see since it's still dark and I'm just relying on moonlight to see.

My current body is of a 15-year-old girl with a similar name and face. It really feels like time has just been turned back as I was already near my thirties from my original timeline, a thriving workforce even. And here I am seeing my 15-year-old self again.

I feel quite nostalgic as I can't help but relish my appearance with the corner of my lips unconsciously tugging upwards a bit.

I still have bits and pieces of my memory to recover and sort out from the messy mix of my jumbled memories of both timelines, though. Nevertheless, it's great that I still get the gist of each.

I seem to be from a modern time with all the machines and infrastructures. The thing I can recall the most is probably my last day before all of these happened where I was excitedly dragged by a colleague for a drinking session with the special, authentic Lambanog from his hometown.

We drank until we were wasted in celebration... of something. Unfortunately, I can't remember what it is exactly. But I know that we were celebrating along with a few more people.

That Lambanog is definitely the real deal as I, who can't get drunk that easily, was hit really hard. Hard enough that I blacked out and felt myself floating away. And the next thing I know, I woke up in a different time and as a much younger version of me.

Don't underestimate the prowess of Lambanog. Or you might end up like me who got too drunk that I died.

Ugh, I want to hit myself, who merrily drank such an amount of Lambanog, in the head to snap me awake. I mean, even dying because of overwork or getting in an accident is way cooler than what happened to myself.

The main point is... my death didn't involve any drama! Ugh. Where is the tragedy? The determination for the mc who was suddenly transmigrated?

Where. Is. The. Tea.

I can only sigh as I thought of just accepting that I gotta live this life with the knowledge that I died in such a way.

I just can't help but sigh, yet again, as I shook the thoughts about the idiotic turn of events out of my mind and started to think about my present status.

She-or rather- I am the only daughter of this country's general with only a single older brother since my current mother's body had become weak to carry another child.

Added to the fact that the general and his wife are in a love marriage, which is quite rare during this era, the general doesn't dare to have another child with another woman even with the repeated criticisms of other people.

The rest is still hazy to me, though. But I think it will clear up as soon as I have or encountered the triggers for the memory.

There's no reason to rush things. And, weird enough, I just feel content right now. It's like the restlessness felt during both lifetimes was suddenly fulfilled. It's a refreshing feeling, actually.
