Chapter 43: Proofs

Hearing his voice that seemed to be made loud on purpose, the policeman narrowed his eyes, urging him to speak.

Chen Fang politely raised his hand that was holding the plastic bag filled with food. He handed it first to his roommate, Gong Weisheng.

"Bro." He saw the worried look of his friend.

But he assured him with a hand gesture. It's okay.

Chen Fang took a deep breath. He was actually nervous when he roamed his eyes. He was betting. This was why his heart was pounding loud.

When he found the people he was looking for, a corner of his mouth rose.

'Good, there's no need to tour the campus anymore in search of them.'

Amongst the spectators, only Zhang Mei Xing who had blended with the crowd had a clue of what Chen Fang was planning to do. She was secretly relieved that the bloody ticket did not have to be used.

Not long after, the man finally spoke. "I am more than willing to come to the station, but I also need some others to go with me to clear my name."

"Clear your name? When it's clearly an assault?" The handsome, rich student almost laughed out loud. The ex-girlfriend also found Chen Fang's statement ridiculous.

However, Qin Li's face changed when Chen Fang began to point his finger at the students dressed like they were afraid to not be known as gangsters. They had joined the crowd to sightsee.

"Them!" Chen Fang shouted. He even recited their names, afraid that they would not come forward.

Surprise showed on the faces of the ones called out.

"What's your problem with us, huh?" asked an intimidating guy who looked like the leader. The person had a large built that would remind one of a bear. His hair was dyed yellow and well, it was a wonder which particular department tolerated having him.

Chen Fang did not cower upon meeting the evil gaze from the person. When he caught sight of an aged professor arriving, he said in a loud voice. "Sirs, I request these people to come along with us. They work for Qin Li, that guy who reported me, and has been wanting to ambush me since yesterday."

'What?' Everyone looked surprised, although they did not dismiss the idea since Qin Li was quite famous on the campus and even the police knew of his family's ties with a local gang. As for Qin Li, when he heard of those words, he immediately panicked.

"Lies! What the hell are you saying! Are you making up stories now to avoid detention?"

Chen Fang swept him a glance and then spoke fiercely, "Sirs, let me just say this. If I hadn't left yesterday to visit my hometown, I would have been in great trouble because of them. Before I arrived last night in the dorms, somebody warned me that Qin Li has hired many thugs to either cripple me! Or appear like I beat them up badly so they can force the university to expel me!"

Qin Li felt color drained from his face as he couldn't believe what he just heard. He indeed ordered that after being annoyed by the indifferent attitude of the man when Long Lingqing broke up with him. But how… How did this rat know?!

'Who said it to him?!'

"You're speaking nonsense!" One of the student gangsters called out denied the accusations. Unfortunately, he was not good at lying.

"Why would we want to do that thankless thing! Do you think of us like idiots with nothing better to do with our time!?" This member must be new, or else, he would not have flinched a bit and swam his eyes around when he spouted that lie.

'This fool.' Qin Li grew angry. He then threw the guessing of the rat's identity in the back of his mind as he thought of what to say. He then opened up his mouth to remind them. "Hey, officers, don't forget why you came here!"

Chen Fang gave him a smirk. The policemen who became a bit annoyed by the second gen's attitude nodded at Chen Fang. "Do you have any proof of what you just said?"

"Yes, sir!"

There was a confident look radiating from him as he led them to the guardhouse and requested to see the surveillance footage for yesterday.

"Where is it now?" The policeman urged Chen Fang with his eyes.

"Here. My informant told me, he sighted the ones I just called out, those people hired by Mr. Qin, at this spot." He said a place and a guard cooperatively retrieved the CCTV footage for that place. "Since there's a CCTV in this area, I'm a hundred percent sure they wanted to set me up."
