Chapter 50: Side ventures.
On another note I had taken up a few business opportunities as being the smart person I am even if I'm a billionaire I can't just be dumping money out all the time and not making a lot back. That just seems utterly ridiculous.
First off I had reopened my clothes shop. I hired muggleborns that needed work and made sure to use my Merlin name as the selling point again. The buildings had all been remodeled aswell like how I enjoyed them but this time I had bought most of the buildings from knockturn alley either with nice amounts of cash or subtle disappearances of more trashy people who somehow signed over the rights to the buildings for me. What a coincidence. Even if people suspected something there was nothing they could do.
So what came next was me having all of those malls tore down and building a wizarding mall complex. Merlins Mall was a huge hit. Clothes stores, rentable areas for other stores that were in the alley. The beautiful mall artwork like flowing fountains. The Veela sales girls. Those were a stroke of genius. And with a Veela as my wife I was able to discuss with the coven in France and help them find nice jobs and made sure there was trained mall security to keep them safe. Old aurors and the like. Top of the line security by the goblins aswell. The wizards who never went to the muggle world were shocked by some of the amazing items.
I had also purchased the leaky cauldron, I had the place totally remade and more staff brought in. It went from and old and dusty inn and diner to a brand new bar and grill with rooms for rent with some of the most comfortable beds and designs most hotels wish they had. I had also helped staff it with some hogwarts elves who wanted to do extra work. I had added on a nice fancy area up top for lords who almost got the same food and such just the prices were about 100 times more expensive and there was fancy artwork everywhere. They bought into to like the suckers they were.
The deals that were making me the most money were of course stocks I had invested in. It was the fucking 90s Microsoft stocks were like 2 dollars a pop. You think I wouldn't invest in something like that? I fully invested cash flow into all the technology I could remember and made sure to keep watch over things that would pop up. Yahoo, Apple, Google. Anything I could remember that already popped up or would be popping up. Like most people I didn't know shit about stocks however I knew of some of the bigger ones.
Other items I invested in were rare coins, rare guns, and sports cards I knew would only go up in price. Babe Ruth cards, Micheal Jordan cards and items, anything that would go up in value with time. If your magically time traveling and not doing this then your a idiot.
I had a magical system that allows me to buy books from my time on collector items and stocks, if I didn't use this to my advantage I'd be a fool.
Other forms of profit were auctioning off items I didn't need like stuff from the chamber of secrets or the founders vaults. People would pay huge money for those items and I already had what I wanted I wouldn't need extras.
Literally all I had to do at this point in time was just buy whatever showed up and just sit on it until the price increased. I have nothing but time on my hands I literally have two philosophers stones. Elixir of life is ready whenever I need it. Best of all this was all legal and there wasn't anything anyone could do about it.
I also invested heavily in rare metals like gold and silver ingots. They would drop a bit in the next few years but then skyrocket once more after that.
All in all my cash was down but that only because I invested. I still had patents making me money and even sent out the dragon pox cure which made me even more.
I had made Bella my stand in for wizengamot meetings. She was known as lady Slytherin and used her metmorph magic to disguise herself and was busy helping fix laws and make things easier around wizarding England. With majority vote and Amelia voting with her there was literally nothing anyone could do. The entire ministry went through changes. Muggleborns were offered more opportunity for jobs. Werewolves were given better rights provided they took the wolfsbane potions. Most creatures got better rights all around. Lots of pureblood families were dissatisfied with changes and most of the dark ones had already been killed off or fled England so they couldn't do too much to resist.
Dolores umbridge tried to speak up against Bella and said some nasty things which led to the fat toad women being called to an honor duel right on the spot and being killed by Bella. This was an eye opener for everyone as people didn't do honor duels nowadays. Even though they were still valid it was kind of a taboo to kill off another witch or wizard pure blood.
Bella of course didn't care.
They learned that the lady Slytherin was not to be messed with. Mostly by the fact that Dolores umbridge was just a smear on the wizengamot floor at this point in time.
In other news Sirius had finally gotten his name cleared and barty crouch was being investigated for throwing a lord of a most noble and ancient house into Azkaban without a trial. Sirius was retried in front of the whole wizengamot and under veritaserum with pensieve memories to confirm his story. He was unanimously cleared and allowed out in the public once more. Peter pettigrew had his order of Merlin taken away and if they thought he was still alive he'd be a wanted man. Remus lupin would be shocked when he read this paper.
