Chapter 54: End of the year.
Hermione didn't speak to me for the rest of the year. Even after exams were done and we were on our way home she refused to speak to me. She was even colder to Narcissa as she looked up to her as a respected professor and then she ended up married to her student. It shook her trust in authority figures.
There was nothing the girls could say to make her speak to me and if they kept insisting she started to ignore them too. So we ended up leaving on bad terms. Never a good end to the year.
However the other girls had all been wonderful and done their best on their testing so I would be fulfilling my promise to let them have the animagus ritual done. They were all excited. Shit i was excited for them. Now if I never told you what my animagus form was most of you would probably be like oh it's an elder dragon. And you would be wrong.
It was one of my favorite monsters from a video game I enjoyed. Monster Hunter. And my favorite monster just so happens to be a Zinogre. A massive blue skinned white furred wolf like creature. A 1 ton 14 foot monster of speed, power and intimidation.
The day Sirius learned I was technically a 'wolf' type animagus. He thought it was going to just be a big dog and he wanted to play a game of tag so he could show off his superior control over his animagus form of a big black Grimm dog.
He was severely mistaken. When he transformed and looked over to see a hulking beast with draconic eyes and skin tearing claws and teeth grinning at him he nearly wet himself. Then I hit him with the old roar and he did wet himself.
It was all caught on film be Bella aswell.
So I can understand the girls excitement. I truly can.
The other reward was even though I knew who was going to win we were going to the quidditch World Cup. Sirius wanted to go and bring lupin so they could try to pick up chicks. The girls invited Hermione to go with aswell.
We had bought some nice tents for the camp grounds the girls would all be staying in one tent while the boys in another. This was so that Hermione wouldn't blow another gasket. They would be a few tents down from ours as the place was so packed we couldn't find a side by side lot. Not a big problem. We would still be watching the game together since I could get nice box seats using Amelia as a cover.
We all met up at the leaky cauldron and would be taking a portkey from gringotts this way we could pick up a bit of cash to buy souvenirs and then head out.
I was currently being ignored still by Hermione who would glare at me every so often.
After getting our cash sorted and making sure we had the tents strapped up we went to one of the conference rooms where our portkeys were waiting. We grabbed onto the hula hoops and waited after a minute or so we felt the familiar tug of the portkey fling us off wherever. After a second of the screaming whirlwind that is a portkey we felt our feet smash into solid ground. I'd gotten training a while back to be able to land properly with portkeys and floos. The key was to bend your knees at the landing.
We tossed our rings into the used portkey bins and headed off towards one of the campsite directors.
"Party name?" He asked us looking at the group.
"Black family two lots." I tell him.
"You have lot 37 and lot 54 in the C area. The lot rent is 100$." The man says pointing us towards a gate which had a big C on it. I pass over two 50$ bills and with the group head off in search of our camping ground.
We let the girls have closest one and then we take the farther away one. I make sure to set up their tent before me, Sirius, and lupin head off towards our camp area.
Setting up the tent quickly in our lot we quickly scrambled off to pick up souvenirs. Being the fan boy that I was I picked up all sorts of neat stuff. These would go into my trunk where I keep cool stuff I like to collect from the Harry Potter world. I had things like dumbledores pensieve. Harry's glasses he wore when I got here. Just all sorts of random stuff.
After buying our fill we headed back to camp to cook up some dinner before heading off to pick up the girls to head to the arena. The cup was supposed to be held all day then we party and rest up for the night here before going back home.
Everyone was excited even me. I loved seeing this stuff in person even though I wasn't a sports fan it's the thrill of everyone around you and the loud booming voices shouting play after play.
We got a really good box seat since Amelia was quite well known and powerful in her own right as head of the DMLE. If she wanted good box seats by god she would get good box seats.
We bought our snacks and waited eagerly for the show to start as the crowd filled up the massive stadium. Lights were flashing omnioculars were shining you could see the scarlet and green mascots and souvenirs dancing in the wind.
After about 20 minutes of waiting there was a boom of a cannonblast from a wand and then Ludo Bagmans voice filled up the arena. "Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the 422nd quidditch World Cup!" His voice roared over the excited crowd.
He was really a master at getting the crowd going even if he was an idiot.
