Chapter 3: Uncover
Miko waved "Yes, hello senior~". Krime in confusion and surprise yelled "What? senior? " Indra suddenly felt dizzy. Indra blurted "There are gaps in my memory, Fia how long have I lived with you" A short warm wind blew in from the window and stirred up the confusion in the air.
Sofia let out a long sigh and said "I guess I have to explain huh? I never thought this day would come so soon"
Sofia went to the kitchen and poured some tea, the boys waited in suspense for what Sofia had to say. "This, might take a while" she warned
She began "Hmmm where to start~....It was 13 years ago after my squad and I fought Marcela, we won but at a cost. There were only 2 survivors the current queen who was just a girl then and Indra's mother. As for me, I was dead, I don't know why but she used her PATTERN and exchanged her life for mine.
Before she died...I asked what I could do in return she said she had a son and asked me to take care of him In the mean time until someone came to take him back to The kingdom. So I did I took Indra during the aftermath here to Aris. But sometimes I have to suppress his power leaving gaps in his memory in the process"
"So, my mom knew Miko would come" Indra assumed.
"What about this mark, did she say anything about what it meant? He inquired tensely. Sofia sipped her tea and placed the cup at the far edge of the table and replied "I really don't know, she didn't really leave any details, you know dying and all, all she could do was name you but before she got to your last name she...."
Indra knew he was an orphan, but he never gave much thought as to whom or where his parents were or even if they were still alive. This news shook Indra further cementing the fact that he was an orphan. "What about my father" he asked urgently.
Sofia waved her head, showing she knew nothing more. Lastly he asked "Well, what was she like my mom?". Sofia picked up her tea again and said "My memory from that day is pretty clouded, but as I remember she was, open minded hahaha" There was a deeper meaning behind "open minded" one that made Sofia laugh nervously, but that's a story for another time.
"How about us going with Miko" Krime queried
"Mm mm, I'll have to talk to Miko about it" she said as she pouted.
"Great, just convince her Miko, Miko? Miko? The great Miko Adval is....asleep?
"I've got this" Krime said happily as he slowly pours Sofia's tea on Miko laughing menacingly.
"What where am I, yawn oh yeah I'm still here" Miko said as he wiped his eyes.
"hahaha, thanks Krime here Miko" Indra said politely
"Thanks kid, at least someone still likes me"
"Why don't you boys make dinner, the adults need to talk"
"Now, Sofia right" Miko paces about the room.
"If I let them go, how can I be sure they won't die on their first day" She said crossing her arms.
"That barely ever happens~" Miko objected.
"How about their second third fourth fif-
Miko interrupted and said "I walked around this place, it's not nice but it's peaceful here" he continued "The first king would say 'He who eats of Adams tree will inevitably return to it" He still continued "There are answers they need that they won't find here, they have to come with me"
Sofia hesitantly replied "I need you to promise me that no matter what, those two….won't die!!
Miko answered "You have my word I swear by my name Miko Adval, I will protect them with my life!"
"Don't die either okay" she whispered subtly.
Miko briefly saw an over-lay of someone he once knew on Sofia saying the same words. "It's been a long time since someone said that to me" he smiled.
"So Indra Krime what did you make? Sofia asked.
The boys made a hot pot a typical Japanese dish eaten with friends. The gave their thanks and dug in.
"Mmm, this is actually good" Miko said with his mouth full. Krime put down his bowl and asked Sofia if she agreed to let them follow Miko, she stuttered and said yes on the condition that she would come too. "Good, but before we go there's something you all need to know"
He took off his shirt and turned around "I, have a mark too" And so the plot thickened.
In shock they stopped eating well all except Indra. "He has a mark too, could it be? Miko pondered "How long have you had that" he asks Krime
"Since I was born I guess it's always been there" "It's a curse" he adds.
"Indra I always wanted to apologize you, your mark was on your face but you never tried to hide it, In fact at times you- Krime stops and realizes Indra's been stuffing down this whole time Sofia and Miko giggle hysterically "Stop it" he says, Indra keeps eating frantically and their laughter increases.
"This food is so good, what's Krime apologizing for, why're they laughing so hard did someone choke? Indra thinks. He puts down the plate and breaths out heavily "That was good" he says as he puts down his chopsticks.
Sofia takes the liberty of explaining what happened while he was eating "This bastard" Krime muttered to himself. "You don't have to apologize Krime, it's cool that you have a mark we're like brothers now"
"I don't need you to tell me that, we were always brothers, But even if you say you don't need my apology then I will pay"
"That's why I'll never wear a shirt again and become the KING OF THE JOKER KINGDOM!!!" Krime yelled.
"I expect nothing less from my brother, I have my resolve too I'LL BECOME THE GREATEST ROYAL ASSASSIN AND MARRY RAVEN!!! Indra roared.
Miko watched their exchange and said to himself "[ I would think they were just being childish, but the look in their eyes so fierce, it even gives me hope"
"You see Indra, 'everything always works out'
