Chapter 105: Small Fire
A day had passed. I received a letter from Arden. He told me that he'll need to train for a whole week. After finished training, he'll be allowed to rest back at his home. But I'm already guessing that he'll come straight to my place.
It's not like I don't like it...
I missed him as well.
Oh, that's right. I'm too focused on baby Crow that I forgot about Arden. I wonder how he'll react about Crow.
"Young master, morning report," Lilith informed me.
"Oh! right," I blinked several times. She surprised me. I was thinking so much while staring at Crow who's sleeping in his crib.
He's been squeezing my pinky finger this whole time.
I carefully let go of my finger from his tiny hand, then straighten my back. Lilith started to tell me that nothing happened in the demon realm. Just everyone doing their work as usual.
"What about Septhis?" I asked.
Lilith slightly tilted her head to the side. "Well, nobody, including me, ever check the descendant of wrath in the temple,"
True, I never ordered anyone to keep checking on him all the time. I've been keeping him prisoner. But I might require his power when I go to war later.
And there's a chance that he might possess me again.
"Alright, I'll go check on him. Inform Io, Callisto and Lavender about it,"
"Yes, young master,"

Once I arrived on the demon realm, Lilith gathered Io, Callisto and Lavender. Then all of us make our way to the isolated temple where Septhis was kept. Ever since the battle that had happened some time ago, Septhis became quite tame. Not fully, but quite tame. He didn't go berserk anymore, and he didn't cause any ruckus.
And because of Septhis, I could push my power off the limits. I gained some confidence because of him.
I won't get scared of him.
No, I'm not scared of him.
We entered the temple. It was quiet. Even the bustling noise from my demons outside didn't reach my hearing. The sound of our footsteps echoed. And the deeper we walk, the darker the room.
"..."
There he is. Behind the giant bars, Septhis was sitting on the ground with his arms and legs chained up. His head hung down. But upon sensing our appearance, he slowly lifted his head to meet my eyes.
"... Septhis," I called his name.
"..."
"How impudent," Io commented with a scoff on his voice. "Your master just called you,"
"..." Septhis didn't react to Io's words.
Callisto yawned loudly and put both of his hands behind his head. "Master, you should do something about it,"
"I agree~ he should respect his master~!" Lavender nodded her head several times.
I remained quiet and kept staring at Septhis. Septhis stared at me back.
"... I will use your power," I said in a low tone. "I don't need your permission. You understand that, right?"
"..."
To my surprise, Septhis lowered his eyes and hung his head down again. Then slowly nodded.
Lilith smiled happily. "Young master," she said quietly. Io smiled and Callisto nodded his head to me.
"Our master is amazing~!" Lavender chirped happily with her hands wrapped around my arm.
Alright. Baby steps. Septhis wasn't fully tamed yet. But I can probably control him completely before the war.
I told Io and Callisto to get rid of the chains from Septhis' body. But Septhis is not allowed to leave the temple yet. He didn't say anything, but he stayed still inside the cell.
