Chapter 67: TGP: The Emperor's demise
Ren Shou's devilish eyes glanced at the Emperor.
"You won't be leaving. You will die here."
He took one step as his deathly aura stroke to the sky.
The guards quaveringly blocked his way.
"Whoever stops me will die here along with that corrupted Emperor. I can still pardon you all. Just kneel to me and I will accept you. Or you will die. Choose."
Ren Shou said darkly as he stepped forward. He was unstoppable.
The nearest guard held his sword with shaking hands.
The Emperor did not wait for the guard to help him and turn around to run out of the room.
Seeing the emperor moved, Ren Shou squinted his pretty eyes. In a blur, he arrived behind the Emperor.
The guards did not stop him, instead they kneel.
It was too late. They could hear the shouts of their men outside saying that the city was attacked. If they lost the Emperor here, then they would be killed.
So the guards choose to surrender themselves and save their own lives.
Ren Shou dragged the Emperor's collar.
"S-stop him!" The Emperor struggled out of his hold.
"H-help me! You traitorous people!" However, no one answered his shout as all guard kneeled and turned a blind eye. They don't stand a chance to the god of the battlefield.
Ren Shou dragged him to the center of the room.
He tossed away the crown prince's swords and used his own to put it on the emperor's neck. Blood started to spill out.
"Your retribution finally came. The moment you betrayed and murdered my father who was loyal to you and executed my innocent mother, I, Ren Shou, their son, swear an oath that I will overturn you and kill you with my own hands." Ren Shou darkly said.
He could see his young coward self cried every night. Even he was sent on the bloody battlefield, he cried and cried alone until he fell asleep. It was only when he was numbed by crying that he stopped.
However, his vengeful heart did not diminished one bit. It got stronger over time. He had been plotting this rebellion from the very beginning he returned to the capital. Now, it was finally on his hands.
"Any last words?"
"I-" the emperor started angrily.
However, he could not utter any words as Ren Shou slashed his sword on his neck. Blood splattered on the ground and to his clothes. The red blood traveled slowly on the edge of his sword. Drop by drop, they made a distinct sound as they each fell on the floor.
Drop. Drop.
The silence was overwhelming as all the people except Ren Shou held their breaths.
The Emperor's head rolled on the ground. His old face was open-mouthed, his face had a vicious expression like he was about to curse.
In the end, Ren Shou did not let him.
"I forgot. You have no right to say any last words." Ren Shou kicked the headless body.
He picked up the emperor's head.
He then glanced at the man kneeling at the front.
"Spread the news, the Emperor is dead. " He then threw the head to the man who was still shaking.
"Wrapped it up and show it to your men in Lin City. Make sure they surrender or else, their heads will be displayed along with the emperor's in the capital's gate."
"Y-yes. G-general." The guards immediately left the room.
"Hey." Ren Shou suddenly called them.
The guards sweated. Does the new emperor changed his mind and would kill them all instead?
"Pick up this woman. " Ren Shou pointed at the crown princess who had a terror look on her face.
"I!I s-surrender, Y-your majesty! I can serve you! I can whole heartedly serve you!" The crown princess shouted in horror. She wanted her head intact!
"Is that so?" Ren Shou asked with a hint of malice in his voice.
"Yes. I-I am still a crown princess. I can be your wife-" Ren Shou's face darkened. Seeing this, the crown princess changed her word.
"-no, I can be your concubine instead! Please! My father has a lot of connections with the nobles-"
"Locked her up. "
"Yes, General."
"No! I can be of use for you! My father-" the crown princess' shout drowned on the hallway.
"Leave." This time, he finally dismissed the people in the room.
After all people left in the room, Ren Shou dark aura instantly vanished in a blink of an eye. His murderous eyes were now replaced by gentleness and worries.
"Wangfei.." He went to the bed and appease her like a loving husband.
"I'm sorry you have to see that. This would be the last time I will let you see something...spiteful." Ren Shou knew that his wangfei does not like violence or killing. He promised that he would not kill in front of her ever again.
"I-it's alright." Li Amm doesn't mind it. Aside from watching him sword dancing beautifully, she was bothered by something. The death of an emperor and the fifty so men could be handled later.
Ren Shou sat next to her. He took his wangfei's hand and lightly caress it.
"I am afraid when I heard you ran out. Where in the middle of the war, the enemy or my men wouldn't recognize you. If you are standing in the battlefield, I am afraid-"
"..Shou.." Li Amm weakly called out.
"...what is it?" Ren Shou finally noticed that Li Amm's complexion was not good. His heart suddenly turned nervous of the possibility that she was harmed.
"A-are you hurt?" He anxiously asked.
He immediately reached out to check on her but Li Amm held his hand to stop him.
"Their names are Xan'er , Yun'er, C-chian'er and Shan'er. They a-are good, innocent and b-bright children. W-would you help me to take care of t-them?" Li Amm pleadingly smiled as she asked.
Seeing her having difficulty in speaking made him alarmed.
He ignored her hand and carefully checked on her. He checked her chest, her abdomen and her legs.
"H-hey, l-listen to me. I t-think what you're l-looking f-for is in my b-back."
Ren Shou stiffened. His nervous eyes looked straight at her calm eyes.
He held her shoulder to make her seat.
"Aghh.N-no..n-no d-don't move me! Agh!" Li Amm felt that her insides was being torn apart. She was having difficulties in breathing. Just a slight movement was enough to make her feel unbearable pain from her back.
Ren Shou stiffened. He doesn't know what to do. Her shouts were enough to put him on edge. He then suddenly touched a sticky liquid on her back.
He knew what it was.
His whole body trembled.
"P-physi-physician! Call physician right now!"
