"How?" My tone was sharper than I intended it to be. "How will you fix the reputation of those who wear hijab out there? All of those who are trying to be better people? You already know how the media portrays us. We really didn't need this crap from our own people."
Oh, I was angry. It wasn't Knight's fault but I was angry.
"It happened in my hotel," his voice was like steel—determined. "I'm promising you we'll clear the misunderstanding. Do you trust me?"
"Of course," It escaped my lips without a second thought. "Of course, I do. Please be quick. Please."
He stepped closer, "Hey," he whispered, "Look at me."
I did as asked, though my vision was blurred with tears. Honestly, the rage was eating me inside and it all came out in the form of crying.
