Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Zombies are everywhere.
Dead bodies are everywhere.
Bloods are everywhere.
Pungent and malodorous smell was everywhere.
A group of people, armed with sharp and deadly weapons, were roaming around a city filled of ruined buildings and dangerous foes. Zombies.
Kaleen was keenly observing around, watching out for an attacking Zombie.
She was holding a very sharp Long Sword. She wears a suit that mostly used by soldiers and Police.
But her arms were covered with heavy metallic tube. For Kaleen, it wasn't heavy anymore. Years of practice with a heavy metal on her arms made her strong and numbed.
Her strength surpassed the capability of humans could ever reached.
They arrived at a place where broken debris and rubles of rocks are everywhere.
Kaleen focused her senses.
She passed a pile of rocks. Then, that pile of rocks suddenly moved. A Zombie suddenly popped out of it.
The Zombie was far more different in the movies that we usually watched. Instead of bloody, the Zombie was clean. No speck of blood could be seen. It looks like a normal human being.
Kaleen swiftly moved and slashed the Zombies in half.
Her face changed when the body began to build up together.
She missed the core.
Zombies have called cores inside their bodies. Those cores are once virus that turned into a crystal ball making the Zombies live longer and made them more powerful than ever.
Kaleen attacked once again and hit the Zombie's head. Its head was cut in half and along with it was a green Crystal orb inside it.
Kaleen smiled and pulled the two semi sphere Crystal orbs.
" Kaleen, Are you alright?" A guy appeared and asked Kaleen about her well-being.
" Yes. I'm alright. And... I killed a second rank Jumping Zombie. Here, catch." Kaleen said and threw the half of the orb at Alec.
" Cool." Alec caught it and stare at it.
" You've become so strong! You killed that Zombie on your own. Unbelievable!"
He complimented her and Kaleen just didn't mind it.
She went towards him.
As she stepped forward, she sensed something bad will happen.
She looked everywhere and drew her sword once again.
" Alec, I sensed Zombies around us. Stay close." Kaleen said. Kaleen had sharp senses, sharper than anyone. Two of her powerful senses were her sight and smell.
Alec was alerted and drew his two red guns. The guns had words on it. It says, ' Phoenix'.
A Zombie jumped up to the sky. Alec aimed his gun at it and he pulled the trigger. Red line appeared and hit the Zombie's head.
The Zombie dropped on the ground, dead.
" Nice." Kaleen said. Alec smirked.
Many more Zombies came out everywhere and surrounded them.
The Zombies all attacked at once. Kaleen charged and slashed her way through the Zombies.
Alec savagely shoot the incoming Zombies with his gun.
A Zombie with a big hand and huge claws attacked him. Alec dodged it by sliding down, then he shot it on its huge hands.
Alec thought that the orb might be on its arm.
The Zombie stopped moving and dropped on the ground. Alec smiled, he was right.
It was another kind of Zombie. It was called Claw. Their Orbs are usually located in their arms where huge claws are growing.
Every kinds of Zombies had their own location of their orbs.
Kaleen swung her sword crazily at the Zombies she encountered. She'd struck their orbs and they eventually died.
She killed more and more Zombies but as time passes, more began to appear.
" Kaleen! Let's retreat. We need back up!" Alec shouted while shooting a Zombie on its head where the Orb was located.
" Alright." Kaleen said and slashed a Zombie in half.
She climbed a top of a small hill of piled debris. She took a deep breath and she made a loud and sharp "Sssst" sound. It even echoed.
Then a vehicle appeared out of nowhere with many armed humans on it.
They dashed towards the horde of Zombies, smashing and hitting them. The Back ups had arrived.
They helped out clearing the wave of Zombies. They were very skilled. Some are more skillful than Kaleen and Alec. They even took more Zombies down than Kaleen who was killing more earlier than them.
They had just arrived but they killed lots of Zombies.
After an hour, they cleared the horde.
They've collected the Orbs on the Zombies. It was a bountiful harvest for them. It made them more happy.
The team, Kaleen and Alec drove back to the base.
They've arrived at a humongous wall and a gate. It opened and inside it was a beautiful and lively city called The Last Resort.
They entered the City's premises.

Kaleen was sharpening her long Sword when someone entered her room.
" Hey." Alec's voice echoed in the room.
" What do you want?" Kaleen asked Alec. She knew it was him because of his voice.
" Wanna do some training?" Alec said. Kaleen looked at him and smiled.
" Maybe later. I'm going to take a nap." She said.
Alec was a little disappointed but he smiled bitterly. " Alright. Rest first. And call me if you're awake. And... Here I'd brought fruits."
Alec handed a basket of fruits to Kaleen. Kaleen smiled and stood up.
" Thank you. Alec." She grabbed the basket of fruits and put it down on the near table. She faced Alec then grabbed Alec's face and kissed his cheek.
Alec turned red.
" Alec..." Kaleen said.
" Y-yes..."
" You can go now." She said while smiling.
" Oh... Alright! I-I'm gonna go... I gotta go... I better go... Good night..." Alec said jittery. He bumped into the things in Kaleen's room before he got to the door.
Kaleen laughed and a little blushed.
Kaleen knew that Alec has a crush on her, Alec just couldn't tell her because of their promise. Best friends shouldn't fall in love in each other.
Alec was outside the door. Holding his pumping chest. It was an unexpected moment for him. He was joyous on the inside.
He likes Kaleen for a long time now but he couldn't tell her. He knew that they couldn't break that promise of theirs.
He walked away and thought of what he said earlier.
" Goodnight? It's still afternoon..." He thought and laughed a little.
" Stupid Alec." He whispered to himself.

A while later, she woke up. She called Alec and she prepared her training gears.
She arrived at the training room. The training room was very wide like a mansion. Thousands of people could fit in here are training equipments everywhere but Kaleen used for training was the Holographic Training.
Where they could train on how to kill Zombies through Holograms. They were not real Zombies but the Holograms has still power on it.
The power and nature of an original Zombie is copied and adapted to the Hologram. Therefore, you could also die using the Holographic Training.
But not everyone could use the Holographic Training. People with Golden Card only could.
Cards are used to classify the Rank of a fighter. Bronze are the lowest Rank. And second are Silver. Third was Gold and Final was Diamond. Diamond Cards are very hard to get.
In order to get it, you need to be strong as a city. Persons with Diamond cards are considered Superhumans. With their immense power and skills, they could wipe out an entire city.
They usually became Masters and Leaders of a City. In the Last Resort, there are Twelve of these persons that had become Diamond Level.
One of these person was Kaleen's Father. The 8th General.
Kalher saw Alec that was pushing up, nearby.
She sneakily went towards Alec and then, she jumped on Alec's back. Alec's eyes almost popped out from their sockets. Kaleen was heavier than a thousands of thousands of boulders.
It didn't stopped him though. He pulled himself together and lifted his hot and muscular body.
" Come on, Alec. You can do it." Kaleen said while still sitting a top on Alec's back.
Alec was sweating all over but he still managed to lift Kaleen's up.
" Good, good. That's one." Kaleen said. When Alec dragged his body down, he felt the intense weight that making him drop.
He was breathing heavily.
And he was red all over. Kaleen noticed it and thought of something.
She reached Alec's butt and caressed it.
Alec was shocked. Adrenaline rushed into his body and he started to lift his body up and down.
Kaleen was still on Alec's back trying not to laugh. She also counted how many push ups did Alec do.
And miraculously, he obtained 20 push ups.
After that Alec was gasping for air. His body felt very weak. But he managed to smile back at Kaleen.
" Nice! You got 20. Highest Record!" Kaleen said.
