Chapter 3: Chapter 2

"Princess Lucinda Rosethorn of Alvinia has arrived."

The doors opened and Luce walked in. Her silver shoes clicked on the marble floor of the ballroom. She was surprised but tried not to show it. The room was almost full of people. Royals, Dukes, and Guards were all here. Those were the high classes. The first person Luce's eyes landed on was Landyn, he was already looking at her. His mouth was in an amused smile, his gaze sweeping down onto her dress, blue eyes glowing bright. I walked to him and he kissed the back of my hand. They began to dance.

"You look beautiful Luce. More than anyone here ever could. There are no words to describe you enough," Luce blushed.

"I can't be. There are many other girls who look stunning," he laughed.

"Then can u explain why the other men are looking at you? The girl look jealous."

Luce looked around and saw he was right. The men were not moving, and when she locked eyes with them they stumbled and looked away. The girls were also looking, more like staring daggers at her. She looked back at Landyn.

"Fine I can see that. I don't want the attention. It's overwhelming. How do you stand this?" Luce was getting even more nervous.

"Calm down. Try to picture that it's only you and me here, no one else. It's easier that way."

Luce closed her eyes and tried to picture it. Only Landyn. Her. No one else. Just them. She opened her eyes with new found confidence.

"May I have this dance Princess?"

Luce didn't realize the song ended and they stopped. She looked at who was talking to me. Landyn was quicker to answer.

"I'm sorry but the Princess promised me the next dance."

The man left and she looked at her cousin. He chuckled.

"Why did you do that? No one will like me now," she frowned but it was mad to stay at him for long.

"Dear you don't need anyone else if you have me," chills rolled down her spine, his blonde hair falling down on his eyes making him more handsome if that was possible.

The night went on and after the third dance she was getting dizzy, her legs growing tired. Lucinda ate some food while talking with two men who were interested in her life for a reason she didn't know.

"I need to check on my cousin. Please excuse me," she stood up and walked toward where she saw Landyn last.

Someone grabbed my arm and turned me around. Landyn.

"Come with me."

We went out of the ballroom, my shoes clicking on the floor. Passing Luce's room, they went into the gardens.

"It's so calm out here. No one looking at you," she was mesmerized by the many stars in the sky.

Luce looked and Landyn and he gently moved her closer to him. His blue eyes captivating her, eyes drooping. His lips met hers, gentle and careful. Wanting. It became more forceful, each of them couldn't take enough. He released her and their breaths came out deeply. Luce was speechless. Neither of them talked, just sat down on a bench.

"Do you love me, Landyn?"

Silence. He looked at her and took her hand in his.

"I do. I love you more than anyone in the world my Luce," the possessiveness sent a chill down her spine.

Lucinda felt water dripping on her and realized it was beginning to rain. She loved it. The cool water against her skin, the breeze refreshing. Landyn stood up and held out a hand.

"Dance?"

She grinned and took his hand. They danced gracefully, Luce hoping this wouldn't end soon.
