Chapter 9
Peter's POV
"You're probably not someone to reckon with,"
"It's on, you btch"
"You stupid? You triggered it"
Napanganga na ako.
Whoah. Whoah. Whoah! Now this is what I'm looking for!
"It's a fight! There's a fight!"
"Huh? Sino ba 'yung kaaway ni Candy?"
"New student! Oh, 'yung sa Black Ravens!"
"Whoah! She's gorgeous, man! She's sassy too!"
"Ang ganda niya, sis. Ang sexy pa!"
"Do you think she's strong? Can she really do that?"
Sa halip na maghintay sa assembly ay napatingin ang lahat sa may bandang likuran dahil sa ingay.
Napahalakhak ako nang makita ko si Anna na hindi makapaniwalang nakatingin kay Eve habang si Eve nama'y nagpapalabas ng kakaibang aura sakanya.
"It's none of your business, isn't it, you hero-wanna-be new student? Don't act all high and mighty. If you make a move in my territory, you're going to pay for it" sabi ni Candy kay Eve kaya naman napataas ang kilay ni Eve
"I can hear and see, can't I? You're stabbing Anna, my teammate. So it's my business. Who the fck gave you the right to be so annoying, huh? I'll slap them hard" sagot naman ni Eve at talagang taas noo pang tinataray tarayan si Candy
Wow! She's got some guts! It's Candy! Ranked 108th in the overall ranking, 40th ranked in the girls' division. Mas mataas ang ranko niya kay Anna because of one thing. Her persona. Her persona is water control.
She's got the best persona in the first years' girls' division.
"Tsk. It's her second day here, she's already gotten herself involved in some cheap cat fight. Savage woman," bulong ni Tim kaya naman natawa na kami ni Stan
"At least we don't have to worry about Anna being bullied anymore. Having Eve on the team sure is advantageous" sagot ni Stan kaya naman tumango tango na ako
"Ehem. Ehem. May I have your attention please?" napatingin na ang lahat sa arena nang marinig naman ang boses ni Professor Law, he's in charge of our class
Professor Law, Sir Lucas, Sir Page at Ma'am Riyo. Apat sila ang in charge sa pagmo-mold sa amin for us to become full-fledged agents of the Aegis Force.
Patuloy pa ring nakatingin ang mga estudyante kina Eve at Candy kaya naman nagtaka ang ibang mga guro sa baba at sumilip sa kung anong nangyayari sa may kumpulan.
Nang tumingin si Sir Lucas sa amin ay ngumiti nalang ako at tinignan na sila Eve at Candy. Nagtitigan pa rin 'yung dalawang dalaga. Halatang sinusukat nila ang mga kakayahan ng isa't isa.
Candy's an expert in offense so I think it's impossible to handle her in battle. But if I focus on her past fighting records, she's pretty low-graded in defense. It's probably her biggest weakness.
As for Eve.. I don't know and I can't explain it well. Fingertips, posture, built and expressions.. you can find information about a person's level of ability but Eve's just.. average.
Not that I'm insulting her, okay? I'm just saying this because that's my evaluation on her physical traits. Paano niya kaya magawang maging confident kung average lang naman siya? Could she be a technical fighter or just plainly strong in terms of her persona? But.. she's very pretty though.
I guess Eve is just someone as mysterious as Timothy.
"Tsk. Arrogant bitch" sagot ni Candy at agad nang tumalikod kay Eve at bumalik na sa kung nasan siya nakaupo
"Nakakahiya naman sayo," sagot pa ni Eve at pa-astig lang na nagpamulsa pabalik sa kung nasan si Anna kaya naman umayos na rin ang mga estudyanteng nanunuod sakanila
Nang umubo-ubo ulit si Sir Lucas ay tumahimik na rin kaagad ang lahat.
"Now, we're all gathered here today to hear a special announcement from the Headmistress. Headmistress, if you may," sabi ni Sir Lucas saka niya nilead si Headmistress Cashmiere sa may stage
Headmistress Cashmiere. Scarlet hair, unbeatable skills, unattainable intelligence and a fearsome persona, she's got everything!
"Oh my god! Ang Headmistress nga!"
"Ang ganda niya talaga!"
"Nakakapanindig balahibo diba?"
"I just admire so much I could cry!"
Natawa ako sa mga reaksyon nila. They're right. Busy si Headmistress almost 24 hours a day kaya naman bihira lang siyang nagpapakita sa amin.
"Students, teachers and friends," sabi niya kaya naman tumahimik ang lahat
Sumeryoso ang mukha niya saka niya isinarado ang kanang kamao niya't inilagay sa mga puso nila.
"Aegis force's sign for honor, respect and responsibility,"
Out of habit ay sabay sabay na nagsitayuan ang lahat at ginaya ang ginawa niya. We closed right fists and placed it in our hearts.
"For honor, respect and responsibility," sabay sabay naming sabi at nung ngumiti na si Headmistress at pumalakpak ay pumalakpak din ang lahat
"As expected that is. Please take your seats," sabi niya na agad naman naming sinunod
"She's just as intimidating as ever, huh?" tanong ni Stan kaya naman natawa ako
"Yeah. She's a girl and I still find her scary," sagot ko
"I can hear you, you know. Stop being rude and just listen" sabat naman ni Tim kaya naman pati si Stan ay natawa
"Now let me get straight to the point,"
"There are 1305 students, 1323 if we add the irregulars" dagdag niya
Ah. Hindi namin naikwento kay Eve ang tungkol sa mga irregular students.
Sinilip ko sila Anna at Eve dahil sa sinabi ni Headmistress pero nang makita kong nagsasalita si Anna ay natawa nalang ako.
"What? Concerned much?" tanong ni Tim kaya naman pinat ko siya sa balikat
"I'm concerned for the new student's well-being, bro. Hays. Kung inimbitahan mo nalang sana silang umupo dito" sagot ko
Ang irregulars nga pala sa pagkakaalam ng karamihan ay ang mga Black Listed Students pero sa katotohanan ay kasali dito ang mga estudyanteng walang pangalan sa Official Records at Documents ng school. Kumbaga, mga estudyanteng specially chosen by the Headmaster by himself when it was still his time to manage the school. Kung nasaan man ang ibang mga estudyante na 'yon, only the Headmistress, the Council and the Elders knows all about it.
"Anna wouldn't want that, wouldn't she?" tanong niya pabalik kaya naman napatango nalang ako dahil may punto siya
"Can't argue with that,"
Anna's demanding to have a certain distance between us everytime when we're with other students. Probably because they scare her with their criticisms and bullying. Kahit patago lang eh sinusuportahan parin namin si Anna at tinutulungan sa mga pranks na ginagawa sakanya. Wala na rin naman kasi kaming magagawa eh.
We once confronted some group of girls that bullied her just because she was with us but instead of thanking us, she was frustratedly mad and scolded us to not be mean with girls and that she can handle things on her own way.
She was cute being brave and all pero kahit minsan lang sana ay dumepende din siya sa amin. Pero it's fine now, maybe because meron na siyang kasama. Though sa tingin ko mas dadami pa ang makakalaban nila this time. Hahaha
"And there are 236 instructors, 237 including me. We've decided that each instructor will choose a worthy student for their individual special training and when I say special training.. I meant individual missions" pagkasabi 'yun ni Headmistress ay nagulat ako-- I mean kaming lahat
Ang daming napanganga at napasigaw sa gulat.
Sht. Missions! So all in all, there are 237 lucky students out of 1000 plus!
"I shall accept no form of requirement, even first year students are fine. But there's a condition. All interactions, details about the instructors and their agents and other facts about the missions are to be kept confidential,"
