Chapter 2: Episode 1: A Guardian

AVA's POV

"Mother!"

I gasp as I sit from the lying position. My head feels heavy from the dream-like situation. There is no way my mother could die in an explosion! I can't accept to believe it...

I palm my face still thinking about the memory. Maybe it is real? Someone like me should not forget something that fasts? To have an IQ of 200, there is no way something like that could happen.

I rub my eyes to get a better vision from the blurriness. "It's dark in here" Maybe we died together in the explosion? Am I in hell? I shake and stands from the ground. To be perfectly said a watery ground.

"Who dare puts water here!?" I hate to get wet! Flicking off the water from my hair I set myself straight and adjust my clothes. To be an OCD person is not as easy as you think it is. Can you imagine waking up at midnight just to clean the toilet or washing your hand for 3 full minutes before touching your food? If you did then you are an amazingly patient and diligent person!

After a while of arranging myself, I let out a satisfying smile fully proud of myself. Now that I notice, there is nothing in here. Nothing...not even a soul? My eyebrows quirked as I jump around the space. A few hellos escape my lips as I look at the dark sky.

I sigh at what I obtained from these past hours...Nothing!? There is not a single sign of living or nature. Just the dark murky sky with no cloud and the watery ground. Sitting back on the water I explore the silent moment. If there is not even one sign of living then, my mother is probably not here. Tears start to forms in my eyes again but I quickly stop them from falling. I cannot cry! ... No... I must never cry!

'Crying just make you weak and people will look down on you! Even if you are sad, puts up a brave face and speak back!' That is what my aunt told me. She is an extraordinary woman. Even if the world turns its back on me, she will never do the same thing and I can be sure of that. Unfortunately, she didn't have a long life to live. When I am 12 she died from cancer and left me to face the harsh world alone. Still, I don't hate her for that, she already has given me a lot of skills to protect myself from any harm.

"What is life?... I lost my father before I was born then I lost my aunt before I reach a matures age and now? I lost my mother before I became an adult!...and I still don't dare to cry my eyes out!" I laugh...I laugh my guts out from those stupid incidents. Cause finally I even lost myself! These are the most ridiculous and absurd things to happen. What is the use of being a gifted child if you are just going to pay back for it?

[TEERRETTT]

I stop from the crazy action. The hooking sound makes my wandering mind stops in place. "What the hell is this thing!!!!" I shout subconsciously from the extreme shock. A screen suddenly comes in my way. As well as a small doll. What is this? A ghost ritual or something?

Gulping, I brace myself to poke the living looking doll that seems like it's almost moving in a quick second. 'Poke'. At that moment there is only one-word playing in my head...cotton candy...

The doll's cheeks are surprisingly super soft like a hot rice cake. It keeps me still there, poking it for quite a few times. However, the sweet sensation dies when the doll unexpectedly bites my finger which makes me shriek from the electrical impact.

[How dare you touch me human!]

The doll speaks in irritation. The sudden minute makes me curse put of abruptly. "A doll speak to me!" Scurry off from the voodoo doll, I stand in my fighting position. This...this is one of the things that I hate the most...a talking doll like the "Annabelle". When I am six years old, my aunt says that she wants to watch a movie with me. In my whole life, I have never watched a movie...I just know that there is a thing called a movie. Hence, I agree and that day... I found my second trauma in life.

[I am not a voodoo doll nor an Annabelle!]

"You can read my thoughts!"I dead scream while swinging a strong punch towards the doll. The doll jumps from the ground in the air forcing me to change for a kick. But the kick is easily avoided as it spins in the air and lands on my feet. It then runs like a mouse from my legs to my shoulder before sending me a flying kick in the face.

My head hits the watery surface splashing the water around. The small voodoo doll steps on my nose at an arrogant pace pointing its finger towards my eyes.

[Listen here, you filthy woman! I am your guardian, not a stupid voodoo doll! ... Remember that!]

He squinted his eyes this time with murderous intent.

[If you touch me once more, I'll kill you!]

I am in trance. Some tiny little thing just claimed to be my guardian. This is one ultimate surprise!

" What are you? ... What is a guardian?"

The small creature huff in bitterness. His complexion holds 100 reasons for not wanting to explain something to me. It seems that I am a complete source of annoyance for him.

The doll steps down from my face. His red Chinese rob lifted a little bit as he jumps in the air. Abruptly, arrives on the red screen.

[Sit properly, then I'll tell you]...
