Chapter 81: 1999 (part 3)
"The Walkers are influential in our country. Government officials, the police, businessmen, etc. they have connections all around," Julian spoke bitterly, "I went to several police stations that day but the moment I spoke that old hag's name, they kicked me out. That's how strong their family is," he said.
"Why didn't you ask Uncle Javier for help?" Alexander asked, "He's a Walker. If they didn't believe you, they'll believe him for sure," he said.
Julian looked at Alexander, "You think I didn't?" he told him.
After making a trip to almost all police stations within the town, Julian decided to seek help from Javier.
"Brother, help me please," Julian begged, "Nobody wants to listen to me because I'm a nobody," he cried.
Javier's heart broke seeing his brother cry endlessly in front of him. He walked towards him and patted him on the back, "Go back to the hospital, I'll take care of everything," he said. Not wasting any time, Javier immediately boarded his car and sped away.
Julian on the other hand, went back to the hospital. As soon as he arrived, he went straight to the morgue where Olivia's cold body lied.
Walking slowly, Julian can't stop himself from sobbing. He removed the white cloth that was covering her dead body.
Olivia was just smiling beautifully at him earlier when she agreed to run away with him, but now she was lying lifeless in front of him. Pale, cold, and dead he couldn't accept it.
Julian held her cold hand and pulled closer to his face. He kissed the back of her hand and continued to sob, "How am I supposed to continue without you?" he said.
Olivia was Julian's first love.
Among all the maids they had inside the mansion, Olivia was the only one who didn't treat him as a disgusting person. Everyone looked at him as a bastard but Olivia saw him as a person.
Although Julian was always being mistreated by Ysabel, it wasn't so bad anymore because of Olivia's existence.
She gave light to Julian's darkness and now that she was gone, how was he supposed to continue?
"You and our baby left me alone, I don't know how I'm going to continue my life anymore," Julian said. He held her hand closer to him and rubbed it against his face.
It was very cold.
The warm hand he used to hold was now very cold.
After a very long time, Julian finally decided to let go of Olivia's hand. He leaned forward to her face and placed one last kiss on her pale lips. He reached out for her face and rubbed his thumb gently against it, "I promise I will get her to pay for what she did to you and our baby," he said.
Julian turned around and left the hospital immediately.
As soon as he arrived home, there were police officers inside the house.
"Julian you're here," Javier said. He rushed towards Julian.
"Where is she?" Julian asked.
Javier tapped his shoulder, "Mom is currently at the station right now, being interrogated," he said.
Julian's face instantly lighted up a bit after hearing what Javier said, "Really?" he asked.
Javier nodded, "I got some help from friends, officers came here to get her," he said.
"Are you okay?" Julian asked Javier worriedly. Ysabel was still his biological mom and here he was, helping him lock his own Mom in prison.
"I've had enough of my Mom, maybe this way she'll learn," Javier answered him, "Although she's my Mom, my conscience cannot tolerate her," he said.
Julian felt very lucky to have Javier as his brother. Given that he was an illegitimate child, Javier never made him feel that way. He welcomed him with open arms and became the big brother he needed.
Javier was the only one who gave him the warmth of a family.
"Go rest now, I know you're tired," Javier said, "I'll take care of everything," he added.
Julian nodded. He forced himself to walk upstairs and entered his room. He threw himself on his bed and fell asleep immediately.
Today was a hell of a day for him.
As he slept, he dreamt of Olivia and their baby.
They were happily playing in a park. Julian was chasing a little girl who looked like a little version of Olivia.
"Catch me daddy!" the kid shouted happily.
Julian smiled, "Daddy's coming!" he said then ran after the little girl.
"Be careful, the both of you!" Olivia reminded them as she fixed their food.
Julian and the kid continued to run and run at the park.
He was happy.
The family he always wanted was right before him and it was everything he could ever ask for.
But as they ran, the little girl suddenly tripped.
"Uwahhhh," the girl cried.
Olivia and Julian immediately ran towards the little girl.
"Mommy told you to be careful right?" Olivia scolded her. She brushed off the dirt that was on the little girl's knees.
"Are you okay honey?" Julian asked from behind them.
Both Olivia and the kid turned around to look at him.
Julian was suddenly taken aback.
Olivia and the kid's face were suddenly covered in blood when they turned to look at him.
"Why do you look scared daddy?" asked the little girl.
"Are you okay honey?" Olivia asked him. She stood up and walked towards Julian.
In a blink of an eye, she was instantly in front of Julian, looking at him with her bloody eyes.
Julian immediately woke up after. He gasped for air as he sat up from his bed. He placed both of his hands at the back of his head and started to sob once again.
He just dreamt of the family he always imagined with Olivia.
A happy family with their daughter and her.
But now it wasn't possible anymore because they are now dead.
Olivia and their 1 month old baby are now dead.
"Julian!" Javier suddenly appeared. He was catching his breath and was panting heavily.
"What is it?" Julian asked, wiping his tears.
"Mom," Javier said breathlessly, "She's out," he said which made Julian stand up from his bed.
"What did you just say?" he asked in surprise.
"She did something to get herself out," Javier said.
Julian's expression suddenly changed.
"Come with me," Javier said, "We need to go there now," he said.
Julian immediately changed into something and rushed out of the house with Javier.
