Chapter 33: Chapter 25 - Brain Problem

"I've already read the minds of the man named Stiyl and the woman named Kaori," Touma said while drinking the tea that was made by Chitose. "They both have a goal to erasing Index's memory, so her brain wouldn't burden.

Because according to them both, eighty-five percent of the memory capacity in Index's brain was already full due to being filled with one hundred and three thousand grimoires. And the remaining fifteen percent of the memory capacity in Index's brain was left so that Index could live her daily life normally, which must be erased once a year, when the remaining fifteen percent of Index's memory is full."

"They're both really stupid if they believe in such things," Chitose said, who sat opposite Touma while eating senbei. "A normal human brain is capable of recalling memories for up to a hundred and forty years, there's no way that a nun's brain couldn't be full just by storing data from a hundred and three thousand grimoires, Hiko-san and I are people who have lived for hundreds of years. But neither of us had any problems in remembering something, and that was all because it wasn't just our brains that held the memories we had for hundreds of years but our soul too, so we can both live for hundreds of years without ever having memory problems."

"It's natural that they don't really understand how the human brain works and the amount of memory the brain can hold," Touma said. "It's all because the two of them never delved into science too deeply and focused more on studying magic. To the point where they both believe the words of their superiors who say that fifteen percent of the human brain's capacity is only enough to accommodate one year of memory, they are completely unaware that they have been duped."

"It's most likely that the superiors of the two of them intentionally erased the nun's memory so, she wouldn't betray the organization that put all those grimoires into her semantic memory," Chitose said, looking annoyed at what had happened to Index. "With one hundred and three thousand grimoires in her brain, the nun's chances of becoming a magic god are very high."

"What exactly was Necessarius aiming for by inserting a hundred and three thousand grimoires into Index's head?" Touma said. "I have absolutely no idea what they're doing that for."

"Necessarius? That nun named Index is part of an organization under the auspices of the Anglican church?" Chitose said, who didn't look too happy when she hears Touma mentioning the Necessarius. "That means most likely, Laura Stuart, the leader of Necessarius is the one behind Index's memory erasure."

Touma knows about Laura Stuart, who is the leader of Necessarius, because that woman appeared several times in the Toaru anime he watched in his previous life. But unfortunately, Touma doesn't know much about Laura Stuart, because as Ranma he only watched the three seasons of Toaru's anime and didn't read Toaru's novel in detail. Because in his previous life, for Ranma reading books with lots of writing is something that he didn't like.

"Chitose-san, from your somewhat curt tone it seems that you don't really like Necessarius and Laura Stuart," Touma said. "Did you have a bad experience with Necessarius?"

"Thirty years ago, Necessarius tried to kidnap me on Laura Stuart's orders, because they were curious as to why I hadn't aged for hundreds of years," Chitose said with a gloomy expression on her face. "But their attempt is failed because I gave the Necessarius members bad luck."

"Hmm, it's only natural that you don't feel too fond when I talk about Necessarius," Touma said who drank his tea till in gone. "Apparently the anti-magic organization of the Anglican church did something bad to you."

"Yeah, those Necessarius members are sometimes more troublesome and more insistent than the scientists in Academy City," Chitose said, looking annoyed. "That's why I don't want anything to do with Necessarius."

"Then what should we do with Index who is a member of Necessarius?" Asked Touma. "Should we kick her out, or are you going to keep on letting Index, stay at Yuragi Sou until she can pay off her debt?"

"Of course I won't let Index go, until she can pay her debts worth tens of trillions of yen," Chitose replied. "Because Hiko-san will be mad at me if he finds out someone ate his senzu beans for free without paying."

"That means we have to deal with Necessarius," Touma said who felt lazy if he had to frequently meet with Kaori or Stiyl in the future, because they were both very troublesome, especially Stiyl who in the anime uses Touma as a tool to solve problems. "This is really troublesome."

District seven in a windowless building, which is the residence of Aleister Crowley one of the founders of Academy City. Tsuchimikado Motoharu was reporting the results of the surveillance to Aleister regarding the surveillance he had carried out for the past twenty-four hours on Touma, Yukina and Index.

[Tsuchimikado, I hope you give me some good news, which can make me feel happy,] Aleister said, who was currently speaking in a strangely high-pitched voice like a woman and his body in the glass tube was not upside down.

"Number zero of a level five Esper, Kamijou Touma managed to defeat Kanzaki Kaori and Stiyl Magnus, and he only suffered minor injuries from that fight," Motoharu said, who was actually currently feeling somewhat disgusted with Aleister. But chose not to show his disgust, so that Aleister would not be suspicious and he would still look professional in front of Aleister who was his client. "He took them to Yuragi Sou, but after that I don't know what Kamijou did to the two of them."

[The defeat of a Saint and a mid-level mage, at the hands of Kamijou Touma is still within my calculations. It's just that I can't guess what Kamijou Touma will do to the two of them,] Aleister said. [I hope he doesn't kill both of them, because they are both important pawns for my plan.]

"Kami-yan won't kill those two super intendent Aleister," Motoharu said with a grin. "He's too lazy to do that kind of thing."

[Apart from Saint Kanzaki Kaori and Stiyl Magnus, do you have any other news you want to tell me?] Aleister asked.

"I intercepted the conversation between, Himeragi Yukina and her superior in the Lion King Organization," Motoharu replied. "And Kami-yan turned out to be the fourth primoginetor as suspected by the Lion King Organization since he seemed to heal his wounds in an instant right after his fight with Kaori and Stiyl, I don't have any information yet as to why Kami-yan could become a primoginetor. But I'll try to find that information as soon as possible."

[You don't need to look for that information, Tsuchimikado. Because I'm sure if you try to find the information you will only provoke Hiko Seijuro's anger. Kamijou Touma's as a Primoginetor is something that is beyond my control, but that won't hinder my plans. Though it's a bit troublesome since I have to change the contents of my plan a bit.]

.Aleister didn't think that Touma could be such a dangerous figure like Primogintor, but when he realized that Touma had never used Primoginetor's powers except to heal his wounds. But that sort of thing wouldn't really affect his plans to eliminate magic and miracles from Earth. And he wasn't afraid of Touma because he himself had a special way of killing monsters like Primoginetor and magic gods..
