Chapter 69: Talk with Lucy
Rushing back into the Inn as fast as i could, because i never saw this really concerned look on Lucy's Face and right now i was really wondering if something was wrong with me like Lucy says.
Seeing the Wolfe's Pub before me i rushed in and instantly went up the Stairs with a worried look, totally ignoring the stunned Bernard and the excited Accalia who was happy to finally see us after waking up.
Bernard seeing the look on Adams Face instantly understood that something serious happened to him and following that asked Adams Guards, who were eating right now and didn't even notice their Lord to return, to prevent anyone from going up to the second Floor at the moment while some stand before the Inns Door guarding it.
Not even noticing any of this i rushed into my Room and instantly locked the Door when i entered it finally.
Jumping of my Shoulders onto the Bed she gestured for me to sit before her, though i was feeling a little more relaxed by this as it looked more like a talk when i did something wrong rather than a serious Problem.
I sat down on the Bed though not as alarmed as before i was still panicked about something being wrong with me.
Seeing that i have sat down and calmed down a little Lucy started speaking about what happens to me when i get into...that weird state, how my Nature seemed to change and i am only out for Suffering and Blood.
She told me about the first time the ,Shadow's Face' showed up and how it nearly instantly changed me full but was only prevented by her and the [System] with it's warnings.
Though i was starting to feel a little weird again i suppressed it and told her how it went for me, every time we would fight and finally defeat our Enemies capturing them, i would black out for a second before waking up and remembering that i had killed them and was about to leave like nothing happened.
Even when i woke up finding myself torturing the City Lord and his Aids after a short Pause i remembered that i suddenly decided to that, thinking that they deserved it.
The more i spoke about it the more i got this weird feeling again, like something wanted me to take a break even if it was only for a second.
Though i am not fully believing her Words, i still take them to Heart as i know that she wouldn't do anything that would hurt me so i suppressed this feeling further to talk with Lucy more.
But Lucy was able to see that Adam was struggling to keep himself under Control with his Face constantly changing Expressions, from his normal carefree Smile to the menacing one over and over again.
But Adam didn't seem to notice any of it, it is as he said before he won't notice anything wrong it is like even his Consciousness is telling him that everything is alright and that he should just accept things as they are.
,,I know you won't lie to me but it is very hard to believe you must understand, as i don't remember having anything wrong with me, but i will still take it serious"
,,It's good that you not simply ignore my Words but just to be safe i will take over the killing from now on, you won't even get stronger from them anymore like myself"
I nodded with a small Smile as i knew she liked to kill them as well thinking that i didn't mind doing that from now on.
But while talking a little with Lucy i remembered the Message the [System] had sent me after Lucy had kicked me.
,If i don't evolve my now [Unshakable Mind ] Skill some [Unchangeable Consequences will follow] though i didn't know at the time what the [System] meant now i partly do, if i truly turn into a laughing Maniac without any Reason...well let's just say that would be bad'
,Thankfully i still have some Skill Points left and i can use them if the [System] warns me again'
Though Lucy seemed to be a little distressed about me taking this so lightly she also seemed to feel relived for her to finally tell me about what has been on her Mind all this while and finally warning me about this so i am at least prepared for it.
Talking a little more about irrelevant things i remembered something else i wanted to talk about, it was about the Passive Charm Skill though it is useful at times it brings more Problems than Benefits considering all things.
Hearing me talk about it Lucy showed the same annoyance as me, as she also felt that this Skill brings more demerits than merits, but we didn't have any way to turn off the Skill so we just sat there in Silence.
I seem to have a Solution in Mind but i simply can't get on that Thought and was stuck thinking.
After some time i decided to give it a try and ask the [System] if it had any way for us to Control that Skill.
[Of Course Host can Control all the Skills of his Companions this also includes the Passive Skills without any exception or if Host isn't comfortable with this he can also wait until Lucy grows stronger and has then the Ability to regulate her Charm Skill]
[As for Hosts own Skill it isn't possible to Control even when Hosts grows stronger but the [System] has another Solution]
Though it's a good thing that i can Control the Skills of Lucy and turn off the Charm Skill it is even better News that she can Control her Charm Skill when she grows stronger but for me not being able to do the same even when getting stronger probably has to do something with innate Traits.
After hearing from the [System] that there is a way to cancel the Charm Effect for me as well i was ecstatic again and was waiting for the [System] to continue talking.
[For Host to be able to hinder the Charm Effect from activating the Host only has to...wear a Mask]
Hearing the Answer from the [System]...i was stumped and embarrassed at the same time, this seemed to be the Idea i had on my Mind all this time but simply couldn't speak out.
And as i was looking there stupidly at nothing Lucy started to notice and cast a strange look at myself.
,,Hey Adam everything alright with you ?"
,,Yea i just found out the Solution to our Problems but mine is a little Embarrassing"
,,Oh you found a Solution do tell me so that those Guys will stop troubling us all the times"
Telling her about her Solution off me turning it off and her being able to regulate it after she got stronger and trying it right after that...it worked !
After turning off her Charm Skill i didn't feel that weird Energy coming from Lucy anymore.
Being happy a little while she turned to me and asked what i could do to regulate mine, with a sigh i told her what the [System] told me.
But instead of laughing at me she embarrassingly turned away as well, when asked why she simply said:
,,Well i also thought about this Issue and exactly like you i didn't manage to get this Idea"
Even more embarrassed after saying that she hid under the Blankets not daring to look out.
This in turn made me laugh a little to which Lucy responded with attacking me lightly and we messed around a little together.
,,Let's get down to eat something and ask Bernard where i can get a Mask around here"
,Mmmh...' she hummed as she was still a little embarrassed...
