As Itachi walked to the magic high school he could barely contain his excitement. Here he was against all odds about to become a mage something his realistically thinking mind had never thought possible. With his comprehensive ability and talent learning magic would be a peace of cake.
Walking to the class he could see all the familiar faces around him that were important in the main series.
Mu Bai and his dog zhao kunsan turned to face him smirks on their arrogant faces "look who showed up, the trash who got in through the backdoor I heard some people fail the awakening.
A dreg like you should stop wasting the expensive energy of the awakening stone" he said with a superior face as Mu Bai sniggered. Walking past Itachi literally gave 0 fucks because he's not a Chinese mc, and he could care about less what someone with an IQ below 60 said.
He just wanted to start his awakening. Greeted by his friend Zhao Zhang Xiao Hou, who would awaken wind magic and later go on to be a bigshot in the military, he made some small talk before Thoughtfully looking at the awakening ball in the front of the classroom.
He wondered what the others think if they knew he could already 1 hit KO a warrior levels beasts with his overpowered magic bow inside his mind. As much as Itachi hated showing off in his previous life, he seemed to be influenced a little by his other personality with the desire to prove his worth.
Putting away those silly thoughts he focused towards the front of the class as Xue Mu Sheng the homeroom teacher arrived and he went into some boring speech about how this was an important day for all of us.
Soon he started the awakening process and it pretty much proceeded in the same fashion as in the canon with the same characters awakening the same elements. Finally it was his turn putting his hands on the crystal ball he could barely contain his excitement.
He could hear the derogatory comments of Mu Bai and his lackey, Saying he would probably awaken light, but that was the least important thing to him at that moment as he excitedly reached out onto that crystal ball.
He was worried the timeline would be changed and he would be discovered for his talent early on, but sure enough a purple glow with shouts of a lightning element from another classroom had the whole classroom excitedly stampeding out the door leaving Itachis awakening to go undiscovered just like he wanted.
Calming his hurried breath Itachi closed his eyes going into a meditative state. Suddenly surrounding him was a vast starry sky around him. He looking around he found a large purple star cloud and he became very excited.
He awakened the strongest element lightning just like in canon. Lightning was known as the strongest overall element because its high piercing damage combined with its paralysis effect made even low level lightning magic a force to be reckoned with.
Getting over his excitement Itachi moved on to prepare for the next element. He wondered If he would also awaken the fire element same as canon. If he did he also wanted another element that could help him escape situations such as shadow or wind.
Seeing the silvery glow of another nebula come into view he was very shocked. First he thought it was the summon ability, but remembering how it was clear Itachi realized he awakened one of the rarest elements the space element at his first awakening.
Honestly he shouldn't be surprised with how many other rare abilities he had, but he was still surprised that he got this without even wishing for it. Remembering what he knew from the anime this could be said to be one of the best things for him.
Space/void element was mostly tied to mental ability. It theoretically has no limit to how far it could go and it was all tied to the users ability. There were 10 mental barriers to breakthrough that increased strength completely unrelated to cultivation and for this element it could be comparable to a spiritual seed.
A space magic user with level 9 spiritual attainment was said to be able to completely crush a mountain with telekinesis alone while someone with level 2 can only move objects up to 10 tons with their telekinesis and it would be like lifting something too heavy for you.
Itachi was only at level 0 just like everyone else when they get first get this element, but he was confident enough to quickly jump the spiritual tiers along with cultivating the element itself past novice tier in a short time.
Putting aside the ability to create a pocket space to store items, starting at mid tier Itachi could increase or decrease gravity. Itachi was kinda tempted to do gravity training from dragon ball z later and see if it's effects are as good as they looked.
The more magic stored in the body the stronger it became so Itachi would be an average of 3x physically stronger than opponents of the same tier. Of course it would be too noticeable until mid tier at the least.
Finally to finish his awakening he discovered the fiery red star dust of the fire element just like he expected he would. Opening his eyes showed his hand on the glassy orb emitting a bright red light across the room.
All the students discovered Mo fan inside the room having awoken the powerful fire element. Only 1 other person had awoken it in their class and it was relatively rare, although not even close to being as rare as lightning.
"Mo Fan you've awoken the powerful fire element" the teacher exclaimed in joy. Now he had two powerful fire mages in his class. 'Maybe I will get a pay raise for this' he thought happily "Now you need to train hard to bring out its strengths." the teacher chided thinking this would go to his head.
With a general lack of expression on his face Itachi thanked the teacher while walking back to his chair attempting to draw the least attention possible.
Finishing up the awakening Itachi finished up the day and left prepared to test his new elements. Arriving home a Itachi sat in his room as he prepared his first attempt.
Purple star dust swirling in his hand Itachi focused on the stars inside it. Concentrating on aligning it in a straight path was surprising difficult and after a few hours of attempts the most he could get was 5 in a row.
Deciding he wouldn't rush it he went to bed and was prepared to try again tomorrow. The very next day he finished aligning all 7 stars after a few more attempts. Doing what others would take weeks in a two days. Satisfied with this he traveled into the woods to test his magic.
Focusing on his magic he internally shouted 1st level thunder seal pythons scar as a long streak of lightning shot out from his hand scarring the ground a deep black as it lashed against the tree creating a deep burn mark against the ground over all it was pretty much what he expected from the 1st level novice lightning magic.
It couldn't exactly be called too strong, but he estimated it might be able to deeply hurt or even kill lower-normal level servant monsters which shows its advantages as level 1 novice magic for the other basic elements besides fire basically had zero destructive capability with fire doing nothing more than causing a small burn.
He should have a spirit for lightning that he could turn on and off. The lightning looked completely normal right now so he assumed it must be turned off.
Focusing into his mindscape he saw his lightning constellation and right next to it was a little ball of sparks shining with a dark purple light. On instinct he fused the two together as he heard the roar of thunder in his mind.
Taking root into the center of the purple stardust it shot out turning the light purple stardust into a deep dark violet that swirled dangerously around the 7 stars. Grasping the purple mark on his hand again he again internally shouted 1st tier novice lightning magic Thunder Seal Pythons Scar as a dark violet beam of electricity shooting straight through a tree scarring the surrounding wood badly.
He couldn't yet tell if it had an accompanying effect or not and he might have to wait tell mid tier to discover it. He could tell that when he fused with the lightning seed it had a power surge of around 2.5 already nearing average tier three novice lightning magic he estimated it could even deal a good amount of damage to a strong or even an evolving rank minion beast. Satisfied he went home to keep practicing.
<Eight months later>
The lightning energy surged in Itachis body as he prepared to break through to mid tier. During all this is time he had mainly worked on his space and lightning element while showing off level 2 fire magic ignite which made him the top genius next to Mu Bai who surprisingly enough also brought his ice magic to level two soon after him which was alot quicker than in canon.
His space element also made advancements already breaking through the 2nd spiritual barrier his telekinesis could lift a near ten tons if he went all out while he could make smaller objects weapons as he controlled them with his telekinesis.
Even with his cultivation speed it was surprisingly difficult to bring an element to mid tier. Lightning took a sole 2 months to finally attempt a breakthrough and he now understood while most people needed special areas such as the three step pagoda or external resources to breakthrough tiers.
The difficulty couldn't even be compared to the difficulty of breaking through the smaller levels. Luckily the mid year competition was coming up with the winner getting time to cultivate in the holy spring.
While he didn't really need it, it would save some time breaking through space and fire. Also during this time his spiritual seed for lightning and the blue fire seed for the fire element continued to grow stronger with his cultivation as both were close to breaking through to the soul grade as it was at the very limit of the spiritual grade with a near x4 multiplier.
Focusing on his lightning element he felt the energy violently surge around his core. He felt the star dust expand and condense forming the purple star cloud filled with magic containing another 42 stars condensed inside making a total of 49.
Instantly he felt full of strength as the mid tier energy flowed through his body. This was a qualitative leap for a magician at this tier because their magic evolved greatly increasing the energy capacity.
After an element is brought to mid tier, a mages reserve go from being able to cast low tier spells around a dozen times to over a hundred.
With Itachis magic recovery speed he could almost continuously fire low tier after low tier spells without getting tired. He could imagine himself spamming low tier spells as the opponent helplessly defended and a smirk came to his face.
He'd have to give Yu Ang a treat at the End of the year competition coming up. Also during this time His bow had evolved becoming stronger with the growth of his magic. With his current strength the drain for the magic arrows was almost negligible and he could infuse his lightning magic into it as a web of lightning dangerously crackled around the arrowhead.
Traveling deep into the forest he came across a one eyed wild standing around 4 meters high. As a strong minion it would be difficult for most low tier spells to kill it.
Jumping up 2 meters to a branch with his magic infused body was not too difficult as he crouched low over the branch leaves hiding him from the eyes of the beast up ahead. Summoning his bow into his hand Itachi scoped down his prey thirty meters away.
Targeting the Itachi pulled the string back and in a smooth motion released the arrow filed with electricity as it flew through the air at the speed of a bullet. Almost as if it could sense it's impending doom the lone wolf turned its head seemingly in slow motion as the arrow shot deep into its ribs.
The condensed magical energy burst out upon contact completely obliterating the creatures torso as it died before it hit the floor. The smell of charred flesh drifted through the air as the dense lighting had seared around the massive wound. This was his trump card. Combining his magic with the bow was still the most destructive attack he had even more so then his mid tier lightning magic.
Over the past few months he would test his skills by traveling past the fortress and its border guards into the wild territory. While it wasn't too dangerous near the city as he went farther out there would be an increasing number of minion ranked beasts.
He had absorbed quite a few souls from the and just recently he had upgraded the first 7 the stars of his lightning element making his novice tier 2 times stronger.This combined with his soul grade lightning seed with a multiplier of 5 led to his novice tier attacks being ten times stronger than a normal mages with out any enhancements.
He even killed a warrior ranked three skins python with a barrage of low tier lightning magic effectively paralyzing the beast before charging up a powerful arrow that shot deep into the snakes head destroying its brain and effectively killing it.
Upgrading his first 7 stars with minion ranked beast souls greatly enhanced his attacks and even a few evolving ranked minions were still killed by his novice third level lightning magic Raging Strike which shot out a pure bolt that perfectly embodied the lightnings penetrative abilities.
One of the best part was even if it was not killed it would be heavily paralyzed making it a sitting duck for a barrage of spells or my Grimfrost blade which I discovered can be controlled by my telekinesis. Let me tell you there is nothing more satisfying than waving around your hand controlling every movement of a very sharp weapon like king from the seven deadly sins as it dices a monster.
He also upgraded his first 7 stars of fire magic and with his top quality spiritual grade fire seed he could bring his fire magic 8 times stronger than the normal magic without any enhancement. He would have upgraded the stars of space, but you can't do that for space.
The spiritual barriers are pretty much replacements for upgrading stars and adding spirits except it has more growth potential than the previous 2. Space and chaos are known as unlimited potential elements. While it may say there are 10 spiritual levels, those are only the known ones and it is highly theorized that a magician can keep surpassing that.
Upgrading stars had a limit of level 8 and that was only theoretical since #1 There are not enough Emperor ranked beasts and #2 even if there were no one would have the ability to kill them all.
Returning home Itachi sat inside his room on the ground in meditation. He had just awakened mid tier magic for lightning so he needed to increase his control over the large amount of stars. After reaching mid tier, he had felt his spirit of lightning undergo a tremendous change.
It felt more pure, more powerful, and all that good stuff. It definitely reached the soul grade Itachi thought, and it had turned an even darker purple. He could feel how much more powerful it had become after he combined the element with his soul seed
Looking at the time frame He the attack on Bo city should be happening after the high-school tournament with the winner given a chance to cultivate inside the holy spring. In order to ensure winning the tournament he decided to raise his fire element up to rank three so he could use the strong flame burst ability.
He also had his blue fire spirit grade seed that would multiply the attack around 4 times with the seeds main attribute being mainly being a largely increased blast radius which is perfect for taking as many enemies out as possible in one blow.
Space was already at the very limit of novice tier as well as just having tier 3 of spiritual attainment increasing his control and strength, yet again. If he had to rank the barriers as spirits in how much they increase his strength, he would say tier1-3was spiritual grade. 4-6 for soul grade and 7-10 being heaven grade.
His telekinesis was now very strong and he could use it for many different uses. One use could be a shield of force to deflect attacks while another use could be picking up items and using them as projectiles. One way to do this was a spear being thrown at terminal velocity which could do some serious damage even against low grade commander beasts. Waking up from his cultivation he prepared to go to the school competition.
He had had stainless steel spears and knives specially made with money he earned from selling monster corpses. placing them in his currently 5 meter by 5 meter storage space he could call them out with a thought perfectly complementing his telekinesis.
The level his fire element was at would shock the others. In this world high-school was three years before going to college early. This made alot of sense because in the world they live in you need to grow up quicker or you may die.
While it might be safe inside the green zones that were free of monsters you never know when a wandering monster horde can completely wipe a city off the map. While most of the very strong monster hordes are being tracked and watched by the strong mage organisations, you never know when a group will slip their notice and wash a city in blood much to the horror of others.
This was especially the case with the Bo city incident. The black churches movements were hidden from major officials and they tested a product that brought hordes of monsters to the city in a frenzy. If it wasn't for Zhan Kong's quick actions of forgoing previous levels of threat and jumping straight to blood red alert even more lives would have been lost.
Itachi still did not think he was strong enough as the winged wolf commander that led the attack would take a number of high-tier mages to kill. Walking up to the school arena he was prepared to win it all beating all the seniors to save time cultivating all his elements to mid tier.
He would just use fire element and if someone forced him too then he would reveal his spirit seed for fire. None of them should be able to defend from that. Then he would bring his other elements to mid tier to be more prepared to face the upcoming crisis.
