Chapter 3: Asuka High School

As I rode my bike along the way to school, I saw a friend of mine.

"Oooooi, Shinichi!" I yelled.

"Ah?" he says as he looked back, "ohhh, Masato, what's up man? Rare to see you this late haha."

"Had a bit of a slow start this morning, it's nothing much" I say, "say, I had sort of a weird dream last night."

"Hmm? What kind of weird dream" Shinichi said, curiously.

"I don't know how to describe all that well, I can't seem to remember much, but all I could see was pitch black, and then I heard something about being born? I don't know, it was weird to say the least."

"Haaaaa? Dude have you been reading a lot of isekai manga again recently?" Shinichi laughed, "who dreams about being born again hahaha."

"Hey man, just because I read a lot of isekai manga doesn't mean I dream about it" I said.

'Well, I would like to live another life though...'

"Hahaha I'm just joking dude. School's up ahead, I'll catch you later in Math, okay?" Shinichi says.

"Alright man, see you later" I say.

As I began to ride on in through the red gates, I glance up and see the school sign and the sakura trees.

[Asuka High School]

'Un, pretty as always'

<It was springtime and Masato (full name: Haruki Masato) was currently in his 2nd year of high school, his most eventful year in school so far. Well, only substantially, really. Masato was a sort of a loner, not talking much to others or participating in any sports, and just generally riding the waves. This also meant that when a huge wave came, it crashed down hard. And that wave was Daichi.>

I began riding into the school, when I heard an all too familiar voice.

"Sup, loser."

I stopped in my tracks. ".....Daichi."

<Known around the school as a bully, Daichi liked to prey on those he viewed as being a loner. And so, on Masato's first year of high school, he targeted the quiet Masato, and tormented him to this very day. Ripping up notes, drawing all over Masato's desk, splashing water all over Masato- you name it, he did it. But Masato was a sturdy guy, he could tolerate the pain inflicted by Daichi. Until.....>

"Must be nice being a loser's son, huh?" Daichi sneered.

"....what do you mean?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

"Here, look" Daichi showed Masato his phone. It was an all too familiar looking face: Masato's dad. It was a picture of him with puke all over his shirt and sharpie marks all over his drooling face.

Anger swelled up within Masato.

"Where....Where did you get this!!!" I screamed.

"Hehehe" Daichi laughed, "my dad is your dad's boss, and I just had the privilege of seeing your worthless dad in all his glory."

"You...YOU BASTARD" I yelled.

Faces were now turning towards me and Daichi.

"Whoa there, settle down buddy, don't wanna get too riled up now, do we? Or do you want this picture to be spread around all over school?" Daichi sneered.

"...." I could only sit there in anger as the morning bell rang, signifying the start of school.

"Now, we don't want to be late to class now, do we, Mr. Loser?" Daichi grinned, "I'll be seeing you around. Hahahahahah."

'God he really pisses me off. I could tolerate his physical bullying until now but this....this is just cruel.'

I solemnly stare at the ground as I walk into homeroom and sit down at my desk. It felt like eternity until the sliding door opened.

"Good morning, class."
