Chapter 2: tributes and threats.
Logan shouted in suprise, after all his entire job revolved around the hunger games. "Im not finished" Frost glared at Logan and then continued "I'd never seen they're apeal, untill i found out how i could use them."
Logan and Frost had stood in silence for a while after that. Eventually the cold snow had began to burn they're finger tips and logan asked Frost if he wanted to discuss the topic over lunch, frost had agreed and they'd returned inside. "I want half of this years tributes to be drawn from... the capital," declared Frost.
"Are you sure? What if someone we know gets chosen," frost began to explain his plan, a knock rang out and they turned to the door, seeing an avoxe waiting with a message.
"Alas, I am needed else where,"
the rest of the presidents words blurred with those of the reporters. He turned to answer questions and his own words rang in his head "what if it chooses someone we know?". The crowd departed and he looked over to the tributes from panem. The first was a girl who looked asthough she was made from the flowers surrounding the stage, she stared out at the departing crowd while tears dripped silently down her face. The next two seemed to be twins, steel grey eyes, dark skin, and, long multicolored ponytails. They seemed excited, logan expected that wouldnt last long.
Then logan turned to spencer, his dark hair and hazel eyes made him stand out against the multicolored crowd of panem. His long lanky body stood straight upright, and a smile plastered on his face. He pulled logan in for a hug and was able to whisper to him, "I need to see cleo," then frost pulled logan away. "why do you insist on me meeting those who already have gravestones?" Logans question echoed in the empty space and frost chuckled in response.
"The day that i answer that i shall be resigning. You pull at the loose threads stitching my plans together" frost turned to logan, "one should stop while they are ahead," the threat was clear. Logan needed to forget about spencer and do his job.
