Chapter 82: Vital Information

Jaune arrived at the place where he would find Weiss, but of course, he wore a mask this time, as there were people around and it wasn't good for him to be found out.
"Jaune?"
It was Ruby who said that he looks at her and still has a hard time believing that she was Ruby, his first friend.
She looks so…mature.
"Ruby, I'm here for Weiss, is she there?" Jaune asked.
"Oh yeah, she's here but I don't think she wants to see anyone right now," Ruby replied with a sigh.
"Oh..I-i see.." He tried not to sound too disappointed.
Ruby raised her right brow and said. "But if you really want to see her then, go to the tent, but don't say that I didn't warn you though she's not in the mood."
His eyes lit up and replied. "Thanks, Rubes."
Ruby's eyes widened for a bit. "It's been a while since I heard that nickname.."
"Ruby?"
"Oh, nothing, just be careful though." Ruby waves her arms.
"I will, I'll see you later then!" After that Jaune left Ruby and went to the tent where Weiss was staying.

Weiss couldn't believe it, she actually kissed Jaune! Not her Jaune, but still a Jaune from another reality!
She buried her face in her new pillows. It felt nice, to be honest, she never thought that she would be able to feel this luxury again.
Bedsheets and pillows were considered a luxury at this point.
Anyway, regarding Jaune she was starting to feel regretful, she shouldn't have done that, he wasn't 'him', but…she just couldn't stop herself.
From what she knew about this Jaune, he was someone who was still in Beacon Academy, naive and possibly immature.
He was someone who had a crush on her, it was obvious to see and she took advantage of it, which she was guilty of, she shouldn't have done that, she shouldn't have used him to ease her past regrets.
As her face was buried in the pillow, her face suddenly started to water, she thought. 'Even though I shouldn't…a part of me enjoyed it…his kiss…his warmth…I-i can't stop myself…it hurts not to act on my feelings…'
Her love for Jaune didn't disappear, instead, it was amplified over the years, it was getting more painful as she got older.
She started wondering what 'if' she didn't reject him when he asked for her hand before, what 'if' she knew better and didn't judge him harshly, thinking that he was just someone who wanted her for her family's fame, money, and connection.
Only if she was in an open-minded relationship, maybe things would be different.
But it was too late for her to do that, as she can't change the past, what happened can't be changed.
Her wandering only increased, and never decreased, it almost made her lose her sanity.
But one day it changed, as he appeared, Weiss knew from the very moment she saw him, she knew that he was different from their Jaune who became a monster, as the Jaune they encountered is far too similar to her Jaune before his eventual death.
Far too similar…she only knew that because she kept thinking about him, it was creepy even for her, but even so she couldn't stop, because it was the only thing that kept her from going nuts.
As the alternative Jaune arrived, it gave her hope for her greatest regret, maybe he might be able to ease her pain.
But that quickly turned into guilt and disgust for herself, not even a day she's already thinking of using him?
How disgusting had she become?
Despite that, she still took advantage of the naive Jaune from another reality.
That's why she had to stay away from him as far as possible because she doesn't know what she would do if he were close to her.
When it comes to him, only then she would make illogical decisions.
Suddenly she heard someone's footsteps, she couldn't help but groan thinking that it was Ruby.
"Ruby, didn't I tell you already to leave me alone?! Is it that hard for you to do?!"
For a few moments, there was no reply, Weiss angrily shoved the innocent pillow out of her face and glared at 'Ruby'.
However, her eyes widened as she realized that this person wasn't her partner, but Jaune who was the person she was thinking of all this time.
"Jaune…" She muttered silently.
"Hey, Weiss, sorry to disappoint you but I'm not Ruby," Jaune replied wryly to her.
Weiss took a deep breath to calm her beating heart and said with a cold expression. "What are you doing here dolt?!"
She hopes that by showing him her cold persona, he'll leave because it would be the best for both of them.
However, it seems that fate isn't by her side today, as she saw him frown.
"Weiss…I- are you trying to make me leave with that fake cold persona of yours? Because if you do, you have to be better."
Oh..he saw through that.
Weiss' expression softened as she realized her 'cold' persona would be useless in this situation, so she decided to be honest.
"Yes, I'm trying to make you leave."
"Why?"
"Because it's better for both of us that way," Weiss replied with a serious expression.
"...I don't understand."
"You don't have to."
"No, I have to tell you, Weiss, why is it better for me to stay away from you?" Jaune had a deep frown on his face.
Weiss didn't like this, she didn't like this conversation at all.
"Please, leave."
"Is that really what you want?" Jaune replied with a serious expression.
"I-yes, it's what I want."
"You're lying."
"W-what are you talking about? I'm not!"
"Then, why are you crying?"
"Huh..?" Weiss only realized that she was crying, she unconsciously touched her cheek and felt the tears that came out from her eyes.
"Weiss…just be honest with yourself," Jaune said with a gentle tone.
Finally, she couldn't take it anymore, she gritted her teeth and lashed out. "You dolt! Why can't you just leave?! Can't you see I'm doing this for you?! Do you think it's easy for me to do this?! I'm doing this for your sake!"
"For my sake? No Weiss, you can't just decide that."
"You! You dolt! Sob* p-please I'm begging you, l-leave i-if you don't I…y-you won't like it." Weiss cried.
Jaune hesitated, however, he stayed.
He stayed….
That's it, this is impossible.
"You…this is your fault for not listening!" Weiss exclaimed.
"What do you mean by tha-" Before he could finish his sentence, Weiss suddenly dragged him from the bedsheet and started ripping his shirt.
"Y-you asked for this..!" Weiss suddenly kissed Jaune without a warning.

-Location Echidna's Wooden House-
I saw Neo come out from Echidna's lab and boy she looked terrified, I didn't think it was possible for her to be terrified of something.
"You! H-how dare you leave me with t-that thing!" Neo's body was shivering in fright.
I thought. 'Omg, what did she do to Neo to make her this terrified?'
Honestly, I don't want to know.
"I didn't leave you, she dragged you along with her. There's a difference, it's not my fault."
"It's not your fault?? Do you have any shame?!" Neo shouted.
"Last time I checked, I did."
Neo was speechless at my reply and she said, "You know what, I don't care anymore just don't let me see that witch again!"
To be honest, I feel like I should be more surprised at Neo acting like this, she's very different from the Neo I know.
But then again this is an alternative reality where there may be changes in her personality.
"It's not like I could stop her from seeing you." I shrugged it wasn't my problem. If I chose between her and Echidna I'd choose the latter 10 out of 10.
"If you promise to protect me from her 'research' then I'll give you every information I know! You're curious about how I ended up like this right?" Neo said seriously.
Now that's a tempting deal, but it depends on how useful the information that she would provide us is.
"Deal, but only if it's useful for us."
"I know this would be useful for you people, you're looking for Jaune right? I heard from that witch you guys wanted to hunt him, I know where he's at."
Okay, I take it back, this is very important.
