Chapter 2: Chapter 2| Your dagger is poking me

"Get the men and prepare the horses now," Julian hurriedly commanded the messenger as he dragged me inside the palace. He turned to me. "We are leaving. Pack your things,"

"Why? What is happening, Milord?" I asked him thoroughly confused. Why is he acting this way? His distraught amber eyes were looking at me with intensity, and I was sure I would melt at any moment now.

"My father is dead. We must go immediately to secure the throne,"

With that, he left me alone in the hallways. The death of the king only meant one thing. A fight to the death. The law is if the king has more than one son, they have to fight under a full moon, and whoever wins will be the new ruler. There is only one rule. And that is to Kill or be Killed.

I ran to my room and stopped in front of the guard. "Call for my maids. Hurry!"

The guard scrambled to his feet and ran to fetch my maids. I did not want to sound rude, but I had no choice. We need to leave, immediately.

When I arrived inside my room, I looked around and sighed. This will probably be the last time I get to see this.

The walls had gold linings, and at the center of the room was my bed. A fireplace was on the left side, and on the right one was a vanity.

The doors opened and my maids came inside. They bowed and waited for my order. "Please pack my things fast. I also need to be changed into more journey appropriate clothes,"

They wasted no time to obey me, and before I knew it, I was rushing outside.

There he was, tending to his horse. I approached him.

"Where is the carriage, your highness?"

"There is no carriage," he put a saddle to the horse "It will only slow us down. You are riding with me."

I was shocked. I never rode a horse before, and I was nervous as I looked at the stallion. It has a shiny black coat, and it was also really tall. How will I mount this thing?

"Come," he held out his hand for me.

Lifting me up and saddling me on the horse like I weighed nothing, he hoisted himself up and grabbed the reins.

"Your highness?"

He tilted his head to me. "What?"

"What about the king? Don't we need to let him know that we are leaving?" I asked.

"I already told him."

"Oh."

His men were already mounted on their horses, and they were just waiting for his command. He turned to me. "Hold tight, wife."

Did he just call me his wife? I think I like the sound of that.

As soon as the palace gates opened, we started our journey to his kingdom, Kashmir.

We are already riding for a few hours now, not once changing speed.

Suddenly, I felt the urge to vomit, and at that moment, I knew I would be sick.

I tapped his back. "Your highness?"

"What?"

"I think I will be sick,"

His eyes widened as he slowed down and eventually stopped. His men followed soon after.

Quickly helping me dismount from the horse, I ran towards a tree and spewed the contents of my stomach. We were in the jungle, the rays of the sunset peeking through the leaves.

He held my hair from behind as his hand patted my back gently.

"Follow me. There is a stream nearby," true to his words, there was indeed a stream. I was busy washing my self when he gave me a towel. I muttered a small 'thank you' while I used it to dry my self.

I wonder what his name was. I gave him the towel back and went to his side. "Thank you, Your Highness."

"Julian. Call me Julian when we are alone."

"Julian," I whispered his name. He nodded as he went back to the place where we halted.

The men already set up tents for us to sleep in. The sun has already set, but we will continue the journey before the sun rises tomorrow.

There was a large boar that they were grilling, and almost immediately, my stomach grumbled. I blushed when Julian turned to me, amusement in his features.

I was stuffing my mouth with food when I noticed that Julian kept glancing at me.

"You need to rest," Julian approached me.

He led me to a tent that was lit by a candle, creating an orange glow.

"I will leave for you to change. Call me once you're done."

Julian got out of the tent and waited patiently outside. I quickly changed into my sleep clothes, not wanting Julian to barge in here for waiting a long time.

"Julian?" He hummed in response. "You can come in now,"

Once inside, he rinsed his self and went straight to the makeshift bed made of fur. He covered his eyes with his arm, looking asleep. I did not know where to rest, but even if I wanted to ask Julian, I did not because I don't want to disturb him.

I just looked at him, probably looking like a freak standing over his lying figure.

"Stop staring," he told me. Turns out, he was not asleep at all.

"No, I'm not," I answered him meekly.

He got up and narrowed his eyes at me. "Why aren't you resting?"

"Where should I rest?"

He patted the small space beside him. I felt my face heat up. I have never lain with a man before, therefore I did not know what to do. I looked at him incredulously. "W-what?"

Upon seeing my flushed state, a devilish grin made its way into his face. "Why? Afraid I would do something to you?"

He asked, treading carefully.

"No. Its... It's just that I have never lain with a man before."

Sighing, he propped his self with his elbows. He looked sexy. What are you even thinking Aurora?! I scolded my self from thinking that way.

"I would do nothing without your consent, Aurora. But, if you are suggesting, then I would happily oblige." He gave me one of those smirks that can make any woman fall to their knees.

If I was flushed, I certainly know that I now look like an overripe tomato.

I rushed to his side and stiffly lay beside him, our arms touching. Oh, and did I forget to mention that he is not wearing a shirt?

"Julian?" He hummed a reply. "Did you have anyone before the wedding?"

He did not answer for a while. "Yes. We were inlove, but then I had to call it off because of the marriage."

For some reason, I felt my heart drop. My mood dampened, and all I could muster as a reply was a small 'oh'.

Suddenly, he was on top of me. My eyes widened as I felt his toned muscles against his soft ones. "W-what are you doing? Get off of me Julian!"

I struggled against him, but it was to no avail as he gripped my wrist and held them down to my sides.

He chuckled darkly. "Are you jealous Aurora?"

My name rolled off his tongue effortlessly.

"What? O... Of course I'm not!" I avoided his eyes.

"Tell me the truth," He pried, his eyes now a shade darker. Something snapped me out of my thoughts when I felt something poking in my thighs. He can't possibly bring a dagger in his sleep, can he?

"I-i think your dagger is poking me, Julian."

He was confused. "What dagger?"

"The one poking my thighs."

He laughed. Brushing his knuckles along my face, he looked into my eyes."Oh, my sweet, innocent Aurora, that is no dagger. It's my-"

I did not let him finish as the realization hit me harder than before.

"Oh my god, Julian! Get off me this instant!" I tried pushing him harder than before, but he was stronger than me. He pushed down, causing his... Thing to poke me harder.

I've never been to such embarrassment before.

"I will not get off if you don't tell me the truth. Are you jealous?"

"Okay! Okay! I'm jealous, now get off me and get that thing off my thighs!"

He laughed as he rolled over me, victory present in his eyes.

"To answer your question, I did not have anyone before you. You are the first and hopefully the last."

I tried not letting the last part in my head. A feeling of joy crossed my self when he told me that there was no one before. But, I reminded my self that I just met the man, and he must have another side. A darker, more sinister part of him.

I was awakened by a loud growl, and when I sat up the side of the tent was slashed open. Julian was not on my side but when I got out to search for him, I froze.

A scream threatened to escape my lips, but I held it down as I stared at what was infront of me in complete horror.
