The City Lord arrived at the Gold Spring Restaurant. Before he went outside the carriage, he took a mask from his spatial ring. This mask was the same one that Caizha uses. It can alter one's appearance. The City Lord doesn't want anyone to recognize him. Most people only know that the Gold Spring Restaurant has a powerful backing but not many knows that the restaurant was owned by the City Lord himself
Otto put the mask on himself and it quickly change his appearance to a normal looking old man. He went out from his carriage and handed the letter he wrote to the coachman. "Send it to the Enchanted Alliance's branch in the City" Otto said and the coachman nodded his head
The coachman was someone that the City Lord trusted and when he has something to send to the Alliance, he would always ask this coachman. The coachman took the letter and put it in his own spatial ring and bowed his head respectfully before driving away the carriage
The disguised City Lord entered the restaurant from the front door just to witness the commotion inside. There are smashed plates with foods littered on the ground. The designs of the restaurant were cruelly destroyed and few waiters, waitresses, and other staffs were on the ground groaning from the injuries on their bodies
There are no customers inside as they were scared away by the mage that made a mess of the restaurant or they simply don't want to eat in a place where someone was wreaking havoc
There are two people proudly standing amidst the brown debris around. One of them was something the City Lord was familiar with
The youth was Kryle that was thrown out by the City Lord himself while the other was a middle age man. The middle age man has quite a decent power as he is a Magic Knight!
That's a Rank that's only below than the City Lord but the difference in strength was so great!
The middle age man wasn't even holding a magic wand as tongues of flames were shot out from his bare hands landing on one of the waitresses who was covered by a magic barrier. If the waitress doesn't have that protective barrier, just a single spell from a Magic Knight was enough to kill her
The girl has a grim expression on her face as the barrier around her was already on the brink of being destroyed. Spider cracks were all over around it and the light from the barrier was already flickering
This girl was precisely Caizha. The City Lord made her become a waitress in the Gold Spring Restaurant because Otto doesn't want her to be too arrogant. What the City Lord least wants was for Caizha to abuse her power and position to harm other people
That's why, Otto wants her to always maintain humility and see all sorts of people. As of now, Otto can still protect her inside the City but a day will come where he would use all of his lifespan and die. Just how many young masters and mistresses spend their life fooling around and just enjoying the money from their clan?
Those kinds of people will never have real power, the day of their Clan's demise was the day of their own demise too
Coldness spread around from the City Lord's body. All he wants was for Caizha to see all sorts of people and learn but who would have thought that this kind of thing will happen while he's not around?
Although he gave Caizha a proof of being his student but unless she was pushed too much, she won't use it. Due to Caizha's personality and how the City Lord raised her, the young woman disdained on using Otto's influence to get anything she wants
Even when she is Otto's true disciple aside from the cultivation resources that her master gives to her, she doesn't have much money. All her money comes from the money she earned from being a waitress in the restaurant. Caizha was very independent and she never failed to make the City Lord proud
If she didn't fall prematurely, with Otto's teaching and resources she would become the next City Lord of the Soaring Magic City and continue her master's legacy
The people inside the restaurant sensed the drastic change in temperature and it gave them chills. Kryle and the middle age man's body turned and they saw an ordinary looking old man staring at them with a frosty expression
Caizha's eyes lit up at seeing her master while she stared coldly at the people that caused havoc in the restaurant. This time, the two were doomed!
The middle age man had a bad feeling as he can't sense the old man's cultivation base. There are only few scenarios where this would happen. First is the old man doesn't have any cultivation. Second, he has a technique or items that can hide his power. And lastly, his cultivation base was above the middle age man
The attacker thought it was the second thing. The first one only has a small chance as even the most untalented humans can at least become a Level 9 Magic Apprentice in time. The third scenario on the other hand was even more impossible, he's a Magic Knight then does that mean that Otto is a Grand Knight? In the entire Soaring Magic City only the City Lord has that level!
He won't believe that the old man in front of him was the City Lord himself. The middle age man frowned while looking at Otto "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
The Knight was still a bit wary and asked the question in a not so aggressive way. Kryle on the other hand was even more arrogant than a Knight! "Old man, get away from here if you don't want to get hurt!" There wasn't any hint of respect on his voice even though he's talking to someone much older than him. He's the kind of Noble with arrogance that seeped deep into his bones
"Heh..." the City Lord chuckled coldly as the temperature around experienced a huge drop again. Kryle as only a Magic Apprentice shuddered from the low temperature
This caused the Knight to be on guard as he stared at Otto. "Old man, this is our Clan's business, please give the Crane Clan some face" the Knight said as he used his Clan to intimidate the old man. The Crane Clan was after all a Nobility Clan and they have quite a decent power. Even Nobility Clans that are more powerful than them won't necessarily antagonize them as if the Clans clashed the Crane Clan can make them suffer huge losses
"The Crane Clan? Do you think I care about that weak Clan? Even if the Crane Clan's Guardian and I fight he would still lose badly!" You want to be arrogant? Then a Grand Knight can be more arrogant than you!
The Knight cannot believe that the old man can say things like that. The Crane Clan's Guardian is the most powerful mage in the Clan. Although he's also just a Knight Rank but his power was not something that normal Knights can compare to!
The Crane Clan's Guardian is a Bloodline Magician! Although other paths of magics are mostly restricted in growth because of limited resources but if you become one you can overpower others at the same rank!
Bloodline Magician has strengthened body, increase mana, and special abilities from the source of their Bloodlines. Their power was great and once a Bloodline Magician become a Knight, it was hard to find someone at the same level who can defeat them
Kryle stared angrily at Otto with a face flushed with anger. The Guardian was someone that all members of his Clan respected and admired! But now his idol was bad mouthed in front of him, how can Kryle take this?
"Stupid old man, how can you underestimate our Guardian!" Kryle said angrily and even took his magic wand to attack the City Lord. His actions were truly laughable!
Kryle wasn't even able to activate any spell before a cold blue light hit his body. Ice grew around his body and sealed him inside it. Kryle wasn't dead or lose consciousness but as his whole body was frozen, he cannot speak or move even a bit
The City Lord's attack was too fast that even a Knight doesn't have any time to react. Otto doesn't want to kill Kryle yet. He has an agreement with Calter to exterminate the Crane Clan but he didn't do so immediately as he can do that any time, he wants
But now that the most important person in his life was almost hurt, even without his agreement with Calter the Crane Clan will cease to exist today! He won't let that stupid Clan to continue existing on his city like a cancerous tumor. He needs to uproot them! If not for the protective item that Otto give to Caizha how can the poor woman defend herself?
"Y-You!" The Knight seethed in anger before generating fires from his hand to melt the ice. His fires however only did little damage. If this continued, who knows how many minutes or hours it would take to free Kryle from that block of ice?
"Release him now or else the Crane Clan won't let you off!" The Knight shouted angrily seeing that his power wasn't enough to release Kryle immediately
The City Lord chuckled coldly again before removing something on his face. It was the mask that disguised his appearance. Seeing the features of the old man they antagonize, the Knight's face fell and darkened. His heart started beating crazily from both fear, nervousness, dread, and despair
Kryle might not know that it was the City Lord, but as a Knight and a true power inside the City, how can the middle age man not know who he was?
"C-City Lord" his words echoed inside the quiet restaurants. The staffs on the floor even forgot the injuries from their body and stared at the City Lord dumbly
Just who is the City Lord? For these normal people he is like a God that's protecting their City. For the powerful Nobles, Otto is like a powerful beast that can decide whether a Clan will survive, continue to exist, and rise or be weakened
"H-how can this be?" The middle age man asked in disbelief. If it was the City Lord then their Crane Clan was doomed! There's no hope left for them
"Don't worry I won't kill your Clan's young master...yet" every word coming from the City Lord were like knives stabbing on the Knight's heart. Even Kryle now felt utter despair. It was fine to offend other Nobles but the City Lord? Then that was simply courting death
"I will present him to your Clan as the reason of your demise but as for you, you don't have any use to me" the City Lord waved his hand and shards of cold, hard, and sharp ice flew out from his hand. The speed was so fast that the middle age man cannot even dodge or activate any kind of spell to protect himself
Even if Otto was considered weak among the Grand Knights but a Grand Knight is still a Grand Knight. The difference between Knights and Grand Knights are enormous!
The ice shards pierced the Knight's body, one even went to his chest and killed him by piercing his heart. Even just a single drop of blood wasn't spilled as the ice shards froze the wound before it can even spill dirt on the restaurant's floor
The Knight has a shock expression on his face with an open mouth and widened eyes. He fell on the floor with that kind of expression. In just a single move, a powerful Rank 2 Magician was killed like that!
"Hmph" Otto snorted and looked at his disciple before they nod at each other. The two has a tacit understanding that they shouldn't disclose Caizha's identity to let her continue working at the restaurant
The City Lord passing in the restaurant can be explained by him wanting to try out Gold Spring Restaurant's dishes just to see an extremely disgusting scene
