Chapter 16: [Chapter 16] Dimensional Learning

I stare at the flowers on the vine, and they start glowing slightly! I take a step back from the shock and I look at Estel, my face mimicking my posture. "Why are the flowers glowing?" Estel gives me as decent of an explanation he can. "These are mana flowers, they glow when it gets dark after taking world mana." I nod, understanding the concept enough. 'I guess that could be a basis for my strength increase concept. Perhaps pure mana changes how the body looks and it couldn't change my looks to look better so it changed my body strength wise.'

"Thank you." I say as I smile at him. He looks at me, and waves me off. "We got the rest up here, go help with the tree out back." "Ok." I say happily before I walk into the house and through the kitchen. I have to resist to not eat everything in sight before I walk out the back door. I see Dad hanging up vines on a massive tree that could rival the house. "Where the hell did you find a tree of this size?!" Dad turns around and looks at me trying not to laugh. "I have my ways...." but then he looks confused. "And what is this hell you speak of?" I just give him a simple explanation realizing that they may have Christmas but not everything is the same as my old world. "It is a another name for the underworld."

He looks down while murmuring the word, "Hell. Hell....hell." Then he looks at me, "Sounds like a place fitting for the damned. I'll remember this word." I point at my clothes, "The material works." And I flap my wings lightly, causing the grass under me to bristle a bit. 'Now that I think about it, I didn't see the tree before when I flew in the air around the house...and then I start to look around. We're in a forest now! Flowers are blooming everywhere with different shades of red and green, and the snow falls to the ground, lazily without a care in the world. "Where....are we?"

He looks at me, "This is a pocket dimension we own, it was a retirement gift from the military for my service to the country. It was bare at first but when we brought some dirt in and with a bit of magic..." he twirls his hand around and the patch in front of him grows a tiny birch tree. "...this place started to flourish."

"How did you do that?!" 'I thought that I was one of the few with rare abilities?' He looks puzzled, seeing the shock on my face. "All elves are born with the innate ability to grow and control nature. It's common knowledge. We aren't the only ones but are one of the few species born with innate abilities. I'll teach you more about it during history. Anyway, would you like to help? Because it could save me a lot of time and effort."

Ping!

Bursting out of my shock bubble, I nod. I grab the end of the vine and spread my wings and get into the same stance but this time, I launch forward and wrap the vine around the entire tree and I perch on the top like Batman on a rooftop when I'm done. Dad nods his head in approval and waves his hand, seemingly summoning an item out of thin air, but his ring glows as the item materializes and something clicks in my head.

'That's a dimensional storage item! Although it has a yellow gem, which means it is one of the cheaper one's.' I remember reading manga and watching anime when I was younger and usually the order of gem colors shows power. It supposedly goes, from weakest to strongest, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and white. So it's storage size shouldn't be too big but if I could get one, I would then be able to store my items as I can!'

What materializes from the gem is a giant bronze topper, made in the shape of a diamond with curves instead of straight sides. It looks to be a few feet taller than me! And beside it materializes colorful glass bulbs as big as my head! I jump down and land gently on the ground as the bulbs finish materializing.

"Ok, so we have to hang up these bulbs on the tree.." he points at the glass bulbs, "..and this needs to go on top of the tree." He points at the diamond. "But we usually wait till there is more people here to do it because of its weight." He says, looking at the diamond. "I'll start with the topper." I say as I go to pick it up. Dad looks at me, startled. "It's heavy! Be careful!"

I pick it up using all my strength after hearing his warning and almost throw it. I luckily stop myself and grip it tighter. 'Is this my strength or my dragon strength?' I think as I start flying up. And as I set the topper on the tree, it glows as hidden lines light up on it, making a star on the inside of it. I marvel at it while I float down and my dad starts explaining it. "Massive amounts of mana come from this type of tree and the star carving harness's the energy from the tree, making it glow."

I grab the bulbs and hurriedly fly up and down, the timer in the top corner of my view ticking away. When I finish, the timer has 10 minutes left and I hear the memorable Ping!
