Chapter 199: [Chapter 197] Give It A Rest

Soca nervously nods as she motions for Lana to step forward with her. Lana confidently walks by her side as I step back, joining the 2 guards. Soca clears her voice before shouting, "I am Princess Soca of the Lodorn Kingdom and beside me is my sister Princess Lana! Please let us enter!"

Silence permeates through the forest for a few moments before the rustling of leaves erupts from our front. I calmly watch as a guard in similar uniform as the guards walks out, but brighter in color. He has a unique spear in his hands, the tip spiked like a pine cone.

Quickly behind him, several other guards rush out and some holding what looks like a sphere with a yellow crystal spinning inside. They look appalled at the Royal guard's condition and I suddenly feel mana being taken in by the spheres. A bright yellow light appears from within as it circles the girls in a constant stream of gold.

They must of assumed someone got injured or were prepared for injuries when the group didn't return last night, plus the doors must close at a specific time for a reason. I stare at the item as runes glow on the glass sphere's surface.

'This place has seemingly new magic items...and one that can cure physical wounds easily! If I can figure out how this works, I could take it back to my world where repairing injuries without a light affinity healer is rare since most doctors only know how to use light magic.' I think as I imagine the hundreds of scenarios it could be useful in. Small injuries aren't serious in the short run, but in the long run, they can be deadly if untreated and restrict your fighting style.

I shake my head and refocus on the guard who now has several others surrounding him, their suits brown in color instead of green. 'This is possibly a hierarchy in position, the higher you go the more dark green you are?'

Suddenly, a guard appears at the side of the guard who is holding a spear, her clothes even darker than the 2 body guards. She clears her throat as she announces to us, "The queen requests an audience with you 4 along with a fully detailed report of any incidents you have encountered which you seem to have..."

She suddenly lays eyes on my muscular figure, the white suit covering me head to toe as the mask covers my expression. She looks me up and down with a flat expression when I see a hint of curiosity flare within her sight.

"Who is this and what is his or her business here?" She demands as a blade slowly slides into her hand. I look over at Lana who is also being healed by another orb. Lana sees my look towards her and hurriedly clears her throat, "This is Divine Beast Kurayami and he saved us from an enemy ambush when Amelia and Emily were in dangerous conditions. He would like to speak with our queen about important matters which I cannot elaborate on outloud."

The Royal guard seems to see the hint of secrecy as she looks back to me. She slowly walks towards me as she reaches a few feet away from me, her head reaching my lower jaw. She has blond hair and brown eyes, her scales a goldish yellow color.

As I feel her comb over my appearance, she asks in her mature, low voice, "Where are you from? I have never heard of you and to want to talk to the queen is something special. I will have to ask her if you are allowed meeting with her."

I nod as a smile appears on my face, happy I am finally being listened to Amelia! She stares at my ears for a moment as a slight whisper escapes from her lips.

"Purple scales? What the...."

She catches herself staring and her face turns a slightly brighter tone as she awkwardly coughs. She looks over at one of the guards who is silently standing by, "Get him a room in a tavern and keep it guarded..." she quickly

He looks slightly alarmed as he whispers, "But what if he's a spy?"

She glares at him as she waves over my body, "Why would a spy wear such...odd and unique clothing? They are meant to blend in, not be a walking piece of chalk."

I feel a slight sadness awake from within me as I imagine a tear roll down my cheek, 'That's hurtful...what did I do to deserve that?'

She turns back towards our group and simply says, "Please follow me Princess Lana, Princess Soca, Royal Guard Emily, and Royal Guard Amelia. Kurayami, would you please follow this group of guards to a tavern for something to eat and rest which will be covered by me temporarily."

I nod and watch as she swiftly turns on her heal, and begins to walk into the bushes, followed by the group of 4. I stay where I stand as I watch the backs of my 3 comrades and Amelia leave. But just before Soca's back disappears into the woods, she turns around and smiles at me, "Thank you for the dress Kurayami, I won't ever forget it and I will be sure to throw in good words for you."

I nod towards her as I wave, moments later feeling a set of eyes staring at me aggressively. I glance over to see a short guard about my shoulder height, staring at me furiously. He clears his throat as he says in an angry tone, "No one casually waves at the Princess, who are you?"

I smirk as I speak in my dark tone, causing him to jump in surprise. "You want to stare at me? My turn."

'Intimidating Glare.'

His body grows rigid as he slowly falls over, like a log in a forest. I calmly walk over to my escort as I ask, "Can I please get to my room before any more incidents happen?"
