Chapter 82: It's Time to Show Off Again!
Monday, afternoon.
Lan Xiang got up from his bed, all revitalized. He looked at the clock on his phone.
"Pfft, that took 3 hours? To regain all my qi? That took way too long! I thought I would take 2 hours at most!"
But upon looking back, Lan Xiang thought it was reasonable. After all, it was the first time he overdrew himself almost past his limit. His qi reserves must've been completely empty.
He stood up and sighed, heading to the bathroom. "Being a cultivator sure is hard..."
Looking at his own disheveled state in the mirror, he quickly changed clothes. "...Wait! I still need to go to the marketplace and refine pills!"
He recalled his own words to the customers: "The last time I'll be here is on Monday, and I'll only be taking the first 14 commissions. 'Kay, ba-bye now~"

He went to the yard and thought about the alleyway in the marketplace as he opened a portal. "Jian'er was fine when she went through, so I should be as well, right?"
In the end, he shrugged his shoulders, throwing caution to the wind. He jumped through the portal, landing like Ir*nman in the dark alleyway.
Before he could exit the narrow path, he was blocked by a person.
"Um, excuse me? Can I go through?"
The man didn't even turn around as he replied, "F*ck you, you ain't getting my spot!"
"Spot? Spot for what?"
"My spot in line for Miss X's free pill refinement! Have you lived under a rock for the past week? Huh?" The man spun around to this outrageous lady that didn't even know who Miss X was.
There, he saw a black cloak, one that Miss X always wore.
"Ha! Nice Miss X cosplay. Shame it won't get you a free spot though!" The man sneered as he turned back around, ignoring Lan Xiang.
"..." Lan Xiang was dumbstruck.
He peeked out from the alleyway. "--! Why are there so many people here?"
The empty spot was still empty. However, people surrounded every corner of the spot, making it near impossible for him to get there. How was he supposed to get to his spot when his own customers were blocking his way?
Just as he was thinking about a solution, he found a familiar face in the midst of all the people.
It was the leader of the Punk Thug Gang, Wen Kang!
"Hmm? What is he doing here??" Their presence in the capital confused Lan Xiang. Weren't they supposed to be situated in Hongliu City, that countryside?
Lan Xiang observed further.
Wen Kang—who had gauze wrapped all over his head, as well as plaster on his neck—seemed to be fawning on someone, as he clasped his hands with a servile expression. "Boss Xu, here we are, hehe."
Xu Tianping, who was observing the surroundings, became furious. He exerted his cultivation-- Level 9, Quaint Development Realm!
The crowd of people suddenly felt their heart sink. They walked away from the source of the outstanding pressure they felt and stood by from a fair distance.
Wen Kang clapped furiously.
"As expected from my boss, dispersing the congested street in just a second, haha-- ai, aiya, it hurts..." He gently massaged his wrist.
After Xu Tianping's show of might, the vendors who occupied the spaces that surrounded the empty spot felt chills run down their spine. "B- Boss Xu, you're back!"
"Tell me, you unscrupulous merchant! What's happening here? Why are thousands of people surrounding my spot?!" Xu Tianping grabbed one of the vendors by his collar.
"B, Boss! There's, uh, a stubborn girl-- she came out of nowhere, took your spot, and just suddenly started refining pills! Even when I told my customers not to buy from her or else I won't sell to them, they didn't listen to me! Boss, I swear, I did everything I could!" The vendor stuttered as beads of sweat rolled down his forehead like an avalanche.
Xu Tianping dropped the vendor who then let out a sigh of relief.
"Pill refining, huh?" Xu Tianping had a sinister smile on his face. "Heh, a girl? She must be frail and weak. When she arrives, I'll make her refine pills for me, haha! Then I'll be rich!"
He laughed frantically, causing everyone to close their mouths and shut themselves up.
"Ha!? What's wrong with you? Why aren't you lot laughing with me?" Xu Tianping glared at the vendors. They had no choice but to go along with his demands and laughed wryly.
"Um, boss..." Wen Kang poked Xu Tianping meekly.
"What?!"
"Uh, don't forget about me, boss..."
Xu Tianping glared at Wen Kang before he patted the latter on his shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll make that girl refine a pill that'll heal you up and increase your cultivation! But! You have to pay me first!"
"Don't worry boss!" Wen Kang noted to himself to extort more money in Hongliu City. 'But first, I have to make that brat pay for throwing me into the sky and making me piss myself!'
He thought back to that time that he flew like a bird and dropped like a bomb. Luckily for him, the fatty had evacuated him from that place in the nick of time. Otherwise, what else would that brat have done to him?
'No matter. If I get to Level 8, Nascent Soul Realm, then I'll beat that f*cking brat like a punching bag! Haha! Also, I'll get more of whatever strengthening pill I get, then I'll beat up this Xu Tianping! Motherf*cker dares to make me pay him money?!'
While Xu Tianping had his back turned, Wen Kang laughed to himself. 'He doesn't know what's coming to him, hehe...'
Meanwhile, Lan Xiang looked dumbfounded, peeking from the alleyway. After sighing, he headed towards the empty lot as he shoved the strands of hair off his face.
