Chapter 2: The Day That Was Forgotten
The Forgotten Village Genbu
"BURN THE VILLAGE TO THE GROUND"
I can still remember the flame arrows coming down on the village like rain from the heavens. I still remember the bodies those arrows left behind.
"KILL ALL THE MAGIC USERS AND CAPTURE ALL THE NON-MAGIC USERS"
I remember these foreign men with their crimson red robes and they're wands where their ungodly magic came from. Their swords that were covered in the blood of my friends are still very vivid in my mind.
"Gaia, take Dem and run. I will try to fend them off"
"Aye, we can't just leave without yo-"
BOOOOOM!
I still remember the door flying through my home. A man wrapped in metal and draped with his crimson cape, dashes into the room. His sword already drawn and his eyes stuck on my mother, like how a starving beast looks at its prey. My father pushes her behind him, he grabs his spear and clashes it with the metal beast. His eyes filled with rage petrifies the man, the demon of Genbu was coming out. The force of the clash pushes everything back in the surrounding area. My mother shields me from the blast, the force was so strong it blows us through the wall. My father cries out to her,
"GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
My mother grips my arm tight like a serpent and starts dashing towards the forest. I still remember the tears rolling down her face. Did she know that it would be the last time seeing my father?
"COMBUSTION SPEAR"
Flames in the shape of a long spear hurl towards us. I still remember feeling the heat radiating off of the attack. My mother throws me behind her shielding me from the attack.
"ILE OGIRI"
The ground shakes while a giant wall emerges from the earth, protecting us. My mother turns to me with tears running down her face. She hands me the machete that she has been holding, looks me in the eyes and pleads,
"Dem, you have to run"
"Bu-"
"DO AS YOU ARE TOLD AND RUN"
As soon as she says that a spear breaks through the wall and shoots through my mother's leg. Holding in the pain she turns around preparing for the threat she must face. She stomps the ground with her foot which creates waves in the earth that pushing me away from the conflict and towards the edge of the forest. I turn around and see another spear break through the wall and pierces her through the chest, she falls to her knees. I still remember tears flooding my eyes and rushing down my cheeks like waterfalls, but I had no time to mourn. I felt a terrible sensation run through my spine as if I was being hunted. I had no time to think my instincts took over and I started darting through the forest. While running I felt the earth shake from under me, I tumble over but still in fear bounce up and continue deeper in the forest for my own preservation. Fleeing for my life I could not worry about the pain running through my feet, I lost the concept of time not knowing how long I have been running. While traveling through deep in the forest I see a giant turtle shell that is bigger than 5 houses and tall as the trees in the middle of the forest. I try to rush into the shell for salvation but that is when I felt the sensation through my spine again, but this time it was more intense. It felt like I was at death's doorstep. I dive into the turtle shell in an act of desperation. I stay on the ground curled up like a ball not knowing if I escaped death. For a while it was eerily silent, I sit up thinking the worst is behind me. But that is when a man with carob colored cloak walks in. I remember the dread that I felt thinking that my life was coming to an end. The closer he walked towards the deeper I sank, then eventually I became unaware of my surroundings. I still remember feeling so cold.
