Chapter 2: Reborn
Li Na's consciousness floated into a dark space of nothingness. As she was in limbo, her emotions were still causing havoc in her heart. Unwilling to let go of the grudge and pain, she pleaded with the gods for a chance to seek justice.
Just when she thought her prayers was lostin the void. A bright light shone in the distance and was fast approaching. It hit her square on the center of her forehead and her mind went blank.
When she finally came to and opened her eyes, she was sitting on a long beige couch in a small room.
Blinking a few times, she scanned the room to get a bearing of her surroundings. After ascertaining that she was in a private room at some high end club she quickly tried to figure out whose body she was in.
Noticing a mirror, she staggers to get a look at her current self. Shocked at the reflection in the mirror she gasps.
Apparently the gods were smiling down upon her, not only did they give her a second chance at life but they also provided an amazing body for her reincarnation.
A sexy, bombshell beauty was staring right back at her. Her straight, black, raven hair reaching seductively mid length down her gorgeous back. With curves in the right places and model like legs, the body was perfection.
Wearing a red mini dress that accentuated her best assets and red 4 inch Loubotin heels looking like she was cut right out of a Vogue magazine.
As her gaze moved up she noticed that she was of mixed blood. Stunning grey blue eyes, jade like skin and full, plump red lips. She was a seductress in the making.
"Oh my goodness! I'm drop dead gorgeous!" Li Na exclaims, disbelief etched on her beautiful face.
"Wait a minute, I know this person... Isn't she the #1 international model currently in the spotlight right now? Liu Wei...~!!??"
What happened to her? How did she die? As questions kept formulating inside her mind, she suddenly jerks and flops down on the ground, as if hit by something.
Memories of Liu Wei's life slammed into her brain. It took her by surprise as images after images were bombarded into her hippocampus.
Finally after all the memories were revealed, Li Na had a mixture of emotions running through her. Empathy, sadness and gratitude were the main ones.
Liu Wei didn't seem like she had an easy life, even though she was at the top of her career. She was lonely and her family was disappointed that she pursued her passion in the limelight.
The Liu family was one of the top 3 richest family's in Nanjing specializing in Technology. Showbiz was something that was looked down upon in prominent families such as the Liu's. They are an old generation that still upholds the values of old money.
The Entertainment Industry was not where their heir's should spend their energy on. As one of the top elites, they are high born and their education are top notch.
Suffice it to say, the women were reared and groomed to not have their own personality but to compliment their prospective partner. From learning how to cook, managing the household and taking social etiquette classes, these heiresses could be on par with the European royals on how they carry themselves in society.
In Liu Wei's pursuit of her dream she was outcast by her grandfather. As long as she was in the limelight she was not a Liu. Harsh as it seemed at the time of her exile, she understood her family. She wanted to prove to them that she can rise above on her own strength without the backing of her powerful family.
Today was her 21st birthday and her Entertainment company threw her a big birthday bash at this high end club. Feeling nostalgic and wanting to drink her sorrows away she found a private room to do just that.
She was reminiscing her childhood, wondering if her parents were eating well, were they healthy and if they thought of her once in awhile. Oh how she longed to reunite with them.
Her personal goal achieved, she now wanted nothing more than to return to the Liu family and perform her filial duty.
Missing them for 3 years and unable to celebrate holidays and important occasions made her sad. Her older brother was set to marry this year and she wanted to make amends with her family, but she was scared of getting rejected by them.
What if they still hated me?
She unknowingly drank too much of a strong liquor which her body was not used to. She died of alcohol poisoning and no one, not even her manager knew that she quietly passed away on her 21st birthday full of regrets.
"Liu Wei, for allowing me the use of your body I will fulfill your wish of reuniting with the Liu Family." Li Na vowed to the deceased soul of Liu Wei.
Just then her manager walks in and says "Liu Wei, you are going to drive me bonkers trying to find you. Are you playing hide and seek when everyone is waiting for your much anticipated appearance? We even invited the top magazines and clothing designers for this shindig. You better get your pretty ass up on stage!"
Zhang Yifei was known as one of the top talented managers in the modeling world. She single handedly made Liu Wei one of the best and highest paid models within the span of 3 years. Even though she was all work and no play she made sure that her artist had the best of everything.
"Hurry up Liu Wei, let's get your make up retouched."
As soon as she said that a team of make up artist and hair dressers came in and got right to work.
Liu Wei was still processing everything so she nonchalantly went along with it.
After her make up and hair were done she was ushered onto the stage. The curtains were still down and the emcee was hyping up the crowd to introduce her.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce a woman I greatly admire. She has captured the hearts of everyone all over the world. The first international model whose career soars through new heights each time she does a project. And one of the most talented people I know. Please give a big welcome to the birthday celebrant.... Liu Wei!!!"
The applause was deafening, as the curtains were raised up, Liu Wei sashays her way to the center of the stage to give her speech.
The crowd gasps as they see her emerge. What a beauty, the eyes of the males in the building were forming tiny hearts and the women were jealous of her ethereal face.
"I think my heart just stopped, she's so pretty" one man couldn't help voicing out.
"She's still single, I think I still have a chance!!!" another one said.
"Thank you esteemed guests for taking the time out of your busy schedule to celebrate my birthday. I am truly honored to have you here tonight. I also would like to thank my Entertainment company, my manager and to the behind the scenes colleagues who made me into who I am today. My 3 year stint in this industry has fulfilled my personal goal and now I would like to step down. I will be taking time off to figure out what my next course of action will be and in which direction to go. I thank all my fans and everyone's support throughout the years. Please continue to enjoy yourselves tonight, thank you again~!"
Jaws started dropping left and right.
"What does she mean?"
"She's at the top of her career, why would she abandon that?"
Zhang Yifei ran towards Liu Wei only to smack her on her arm.
"What the hell is that speech? Why didn't you tell me about your decision to leave?"
Suddenly her phone started ringing.
"Go ahead answer it" Liu Wei urges Zhang Yifei.
"No way, it's the company and I'm sure I will get an earful. I don't even know what to say!"
"Well my contract is up next week, and I would like to return to my family. I haven't seen then in 3 years." Liu Wei says while smiling at her manager.
"Don't give me that look, I will turn gay because of you! Plus every time you want me to agree with you, you give me that look"
I dont think Liu Wei even realizes that her smile is blindingly beautiful. It could bring a man to his knees. Thank goodness for the bodyguards that she hired, otherwise her little mega star would be swallowed up whole by her many admirers.
Liu Wei starts laughing and just bats her eyes at Zhang Yifei.
"Fine, I know that you have been melancholy these past few months and I know how much you miss your family. I will think of something to say to the higher ups so that you aren't tricked into signing another contract"
She knew that her manager was the best of the best. How did she get so lucky meeting someone who genuinely cared for her instead of profit?
"Thank You Fei Fei!! I wuv you to pieces!" as she gives Zhang Yifei a quick peck on her left cheek.
