Chapter 37: Eris
Liu Wei arrived at the location on the business card that the mysterious man left behind.
She needed to know what was happening to her, like why was she becoming inhuman? For example her speed, eye sight and hearing.. All these changes were increasing with each passing day. It was time to get this sorted out and that man has the answers to her unanswered questions.
She figured that this place would be heavily guarded full of security cameras and built like Fort Nox, but to her surprise it was deserted. The door was unlocked as well, anyone could easily walk in from the streets. She found it quite odd but shrugged it off.
A man was waiting for her as soon as she entered. which surprised her. They already knew she was here and must have anticipated her arrival..
The man was also wearing a full black ensemble just like the first man she met a few days ago. But this man had on a long leather jacket, kinda like what Keanu Reeves wore in the Matrix. He was only missing the sunglasses to complete the blockbuster look. She found this quite amusing but didn't want to comment. He probably has never seen the movie.
He suddenly drops down to one knee and says "My Queen... it has been many moons since we last met. It is an honor to have found you again"
Well that was a bit of a weird greeting, what the heck does that mean?
"Are you the person who can answer all my questions?"
"I know some but my Prince will be able to answer everything that you ask. Please follow me, my Queen and I will take you to him. "
Liu Wei followed the man through a corridor into a spacious room with a throne. Um a throne? in modern days? Okay then.... just go with the flow, she said to herself.
On the throne a man sat... he had half of his face hidden in a golden mask. She could feel an energy emanating off of him, but she didn't feel threatened. It was a calming energy...
"Hello my Queen, it has been centuries since we last met. We have been looking for you for awhile"
"Hello... um not to be rude but I don't really remember you, can you explain this Queen business to me? and I'm only in my 20s how can I be centuries old? Also who are you people?" She asked in one breath. Who would believe that she was old? Are these people sane?
"I know you have many questions and I will answer all of them. But afterwards will you do me a favor?" He asked in a polite manner.
"If its not illegal then it shouldn't be a problem" Honestly these people probably just wanted money... that was easy for her to get.
Okay, that was better than nothing he thought..
"You are our Queen.. well actually you gave up your throne to my Step Mother who is now the current Queen of Eris. Her name is Queen Junep and she is no longer the same Queen you once knew. You ruled the Kingdom of Eris with fairness and stability. You gave people choices and protected the Kingdom from invasion. You are and will always be our benevolent Queen Ceres. Eris is a kingdom light-years away from Earth... It is ruled by warriors and we respect those who are strong."
"But I have never left this place..." Liu Wei says in disbelief.
"You were betrayed by Queen Junep and her followers, you were ambushed and drugged. Since you are too powerful she was not able to completely kill you but instead your essence was scattered in space. Over the centuries your essence will start to form again, and you will be made whole once more. You are omnipotent and we don't really know where you came from... you just appeared and created Eris and ruled the land until the day you were betrayed."
"I have one of your essence and was hoping to follow it to you... which worked because it lead us to this body. I can see the energy inside you is from our Queen. It seems that something triggered her essence to fully start activating and attracting the rest to converge into this body. Perhaps another betrayal...?"
Liu Wei's mind was going into over drive with all this information... Does that mean when Li Na died and found out that she was betrayed by the people she cared about the most, it was the trigger that allowed her essence to converge and ignite? Is that why instead of going to the afterlife her essence found another body?
This was some crazy sci-fi sh*t!!!
"You are centuries old and you never age... you are super fast and have inhuman powers. You taught us how to fight and gave us our powers through touch. But you can also take it away. Queen Junep wants to kill you before your full powers can be activated, for she once was your disciple and she knew your weaknesses as well. Eris is now in chaos because of her, we are in need of your assistance. She is out of control and killing innocents"
"But if what you say is true... then I am still not at full capacity and my memories are still blank! How do I fight someone I don't even know?"
"It is only a matter of time before your full strength comes back. As for your memories it will also come to you as soon as you are made whole. It looks like you are at 70%, the next few days will be insightful for you. I beg that you return to Eris and gain back your seat and get rid of Queen Junep. She is also looking for you as well, I believe she may have one of your essence. It is to our best advantage if we attack first."
Liu Wei was still skeptical, she's not going to attack anyone until she is prodded first. Besides this Prince could be lying and he could be the villain. She'll believe it if and when her memories come back.
