Chapter 3: Chapter 3
It's relaxing to have a nice walk in the forest. Where leaves dance to an unheard beat, wind plays it's own song, giants who's roots hug the earth so tight and suddenly a small shaft illuminating the path that leads us to a place that I seem to recognize. That's right! I've been here... The tree that is old with its twisted roots. I remember now!
"I think we're near." just a couple more minutes of walking and we are out of this forest. Good thing I have a good sense of direction. I looked back wondering what happened to the woman and the parrot. I keep saying the woman, I forgot to ask her name!
"Hey, I forgot to ask your name." I said while scratching my head. Damn am I really that rude?
"Name?" the woman looks confused at the same time bothered.
"Yeah, your name. Anyway, my name is Knight and you are?"
"I don't have a name." she said as if she was so sure of her answer.
"Of course she have a name! And we won't tell someone like you her name!" the parrot answered.
"Why is that?"
"Because you're ugly." the parrot replied back while laughing so hard. So mean.
The woman and the parrot are talking to each other now and I just keep moving forward. A road! Finally! Now all we need is to follow where this lead. My memories is good enough to remember that it will lead us to a park, near the place where I'm staying.
"Winter is coming soon. Does the two of you have plans?" Where are they going to stay when winter comes? Are they going to survive the cold weather when they return to the dilapidated mansion they used to live at? Why am I even worrying? I should stop thinking about stuff like this.
"Why are you asking huh?" what's wrong with this parrot? Why is he always so mean?
"Because I'm worried. Look at the both of you, seems like you two are gonna die soon. Do you even eat? I'm just being kind and I want to help the both of you." My mom always taught me how to treat other people right. Helping other people is one of the greatest thing.
"Worried?" the woman asked. "What is worry?" "How would you know that you are worrying?" she asked consecutively as if she's eager to know. Really? Doesn't she really know?
"It's like feeling extremely disturb by knowing that something bad might happen." I explained. Why is she even asking?
She looks at me with straight face, giving me no clue of what she's thinking. Suddenly, my water container fell out of my bag as I hurriedly try to pick it up a thud stopped me. As I looked up what I've witnessed is the woman's body laying in the bed of leaves. While, her body stays as still as a corpse, her skin went ashen. I almost stumble as I make my way to her. She's barely breathing! The parrot keeps on pecking her hand in order to wake her up. I panickly look at some parts of her body that are possibly injured causing this to happen. My hands are shaking as I failed to find anything. This shouldn't happen! I instantaneously search my bag for my phone so I can dial 911. I tried to contact the emergency hotline but there is no signal! Not even a bar! Now my heart it beating so fast. My knees are even trembling. I know I'm a guy, I should stay cool. But I'm afraid of scenarios like this.
A cold hand held me tight stopping me from I'm doing. Chills are sent down my spine. Then she looked at me with a blank face. I instantly gain my composure. Did she fake it all? What for? I nearly went nuts due to the situation.
"Why did you do it?" I asked angrily. This is not a time for any joke. Who in the right mind will pull up such an act?! It wasn't funny at all. It feels like digging up memories from the past that I burried.
"I just want to see you worried" she said as if just normally conversing with someone and nothing happened. What the?! Does she know she scared me so much? "I want to know what will you do if something bad happens." Why does she say it like it was nothing?
"Please, don't do it again." I can't afford to experience something like that again. "Let's keep moving forward, there is a park nearby." I said without throwing a glance at the woman and the parrot that are fighting.
We are now at the park and it's getting dark we should probably head to my place. I looked back wondering what's the woman up to now, then, I saw her staring at the man selling balloons. I quickly made my way to her.
"Do you want some?" I asked. She nodded as reply.
"I'll buy 5 of them with different colors." I extended my arms to hand the man my payment for the balloons.
I pulled the woman's hand so that we can leave the park. Why does she likes balloons? Isn't she too old for that?
We are now standing in front of the building where I stay. Now how will take her to my room without Phoenix knowing? I know him he put malice in everything. I pulled the woman again leading her to the bushes. "Stay here for a minute and don't come out."
I contacted Phoenix. "Hello, pick me up. I'm lost and I'm at the park" he agreed. A moment later, I saw him leave the building with his car and now time to go to my room. We quickly hop on the elevator. We sprinted our way to my room. Phew. Right at the moment, Phoenix called and ask where I am so I tell him I went for a little more walk. He angrily hung up the call. I understand cause if I was him I would do the same. I heavily sighed.
Suddenly, a sound of a glass breaking coming from the dining area surprised me. Ugh, what now?!
