Chapter 38: 38. trying to change
No one had expected him to walk in just like that and more importantly, no one thought that, after what he did yesterday, he still had the face to come in.
Yes, they have all heard that he picked a 'fight' with his assigned photographer, but all three of them were not present to see what happened after that, as they say, ignorance is bliss.

When these newbies saw YuTang walk in, most of them had a light flash in their eyes... for the record, they were really new to this field and even though they didn't try to make enemies, the competition was very fierce among themselves because everyone was vying for that single chance; many of them have seen YuTang on quite a few occasions considering he used to take 5 to 6 jobs a day at one point and being in a position where they could see his prowess from so close, they were aware that he was the real deal and with him being there, their chance will go to him at some point...
With time, they became aware of this man being suppressed on every front and though they won't say it out loud, they were indeed a bit relieved by it... your talent spoke louder than words, they had faced this at point-blank when he stood in front of the camera, but this time they were a little glad that money could overpower it... it was not their fault, just that human nature has always been like this.
After what happened yesterday, they had all the more confirmed that fact and what happened today was beyond their control and they were a little disgusted by what these girls were saying, but if it could happen, they would rather be glad... as ironic as it sounded, it was true.
As for why they thought that he wouldn't be here was because of what has been happening for over a year now; the photos of this man were always very obscure and very small or, at places that could be overlooked, it also became a reason as to why he was paid less and had to take more gigs... this man was being cornered... after what happened yesterday, even if he showed that much presence, it didn't erase the fact that he had indeed offended a senior and as the matter stood, he will definitely be barred from attending the shoot today, just for that man to keep his face.
Anyway, the two ladies who saw him enter like that were shocked for a moment before regaining their composure... they had already offended him and placed their bets on Zhao Tao, this third-generation rich heir, they thought they didn't need to be scared of this man, without any backing.

Do take offence, if you would like to- no, I would like you, people, to take offence, but are you trying to say that your personal 'views' are at a higher position than the core staff. Even without them being involved, do you think, you can afford to talk like that about a person", he took his phone and showed it to them,
"I've recorded whatever you said about me just now. It'll be a pleasure for me to sue you, or what? Do you think that this poor me, is not able to file a charge against you... mind you, I still have that much money...", his face was devoid of any emotion and his voice sounded straight... nobody could guess that he was the same person who couldn't even open his eyes back in the penthouse a while or so ago!
Well, he was still an actor, he can still do this much. To be frank, he was bluffing and he didn't have any proof and talking this much without sounding hoarse was also testing his abilities to its limit, but it wasn't anything new to him...
He also told a lie about how he had enough money to file a charge against them, in reality, he didn't have it...
But he has promised himself that day, that he will not allow anyone to play with him; his life was for him to live and no one had the right to interfere with his choices or ways. He hadn't stayed with ChunHua for long, but her lifestyle was affecting him in a positive way... sometimes enduring everything, as he did throughout this year, without complaining, wouldn't lead to a better result(!)... sometimes you need to voice out your views for people to know it...
All the more, if they are demeaning your values, just because they thought you won't fight back!
Such a self, he will have to leave behind himself, he will have to move forward and this was just the first step.
Well, you just need one person to believe in you to come a long way...just that one person.
After years of searching with trials and errors and a long run betrayal by who he had first assumed to have been the same... he finally found the person in ChunHua...
This time he was all the more confident because nor his or her emotions were involved in this; as she had clearly stated from the start... she had seen the potential in him and these were the words directly from the mysterious boss, the person at the top level of this showbiz jungle, Ji ChunHua herself... and he has been waiting for this single acceptance all his life and career, and as matter stood, for the time being, he didn't want anything else.
The two ladies were startled now as before they could explode on him, the always silently enduring man, has somehow got himself a backbone and was threatening them... but considering their position, no one would come to support them if the court was involved, they knew their place and hence why they only showed their 'power' against newbies like him!
As for Zhao Tao himself, his eyes cooled down when he saw this man appear.
A little more than a year ago, they had met at an audition for the same supporting role and one way or other, he hadn't liked this man who was concentrating upon his script from the get-go but even with his plain clothes and simple bearing, even he couldn't deny his presence... when he was selected for the role and Zhao Tao, at the corner of his heart, knew that it was inevitable and also why he hated this man all the more... he was someone who had gotten everything he had ever wanted from the start so, when he didn't get that role, he was too shocked...
Though it was on a whim that he joined this circle, for a fact, he had thought a lot on it, he may be joking about doing it for women but he did work hard to enter, till now, he hadn't used his family's influence to get any of his jobs and also joined acting classes, even he had his pride and didn't want to be treated as an outcast, you see.
Still, he liked to be vane, it boosted his ego... som knwoing these women were trying to flatter him, he didn't stop them.
Anyway, that was the first time, he lost something because he didn't have enough strength... he was a bit riled and fought for another role... The movie did well and he still got quite an exposure, but during the filming every time he saw YuTang act so naturally with care to every single gesture and look, the envy he felt could get him a world record, though he knew that he must be working hard to get to that point and he himself was doing hard work to get to such a point, he couldn't help but be jealous and glared at him every second he found him... it was kind of petty and childish, but he kept doing it.
Once out of the movie, he got some more movies to do and tried to forget about this man, but a month or so later, he found that this man was suppressed to the point of leaving the acting circle and had joined the modelling scene...
Somehow, he hated him even more... here he was trying so hard to get recognition for his acting and even though he had reached that level and gone beyond that, he could let go of this scene so easily?
Then what did he worked so hard for?
He felt betrayed and it somehow got to the point of him using his family's connection to suppress his career in this scene... one way or another, he wanted him to get back to acting and at a point, he will fight against him win... he just didn't find his method to be warped and so, by this time... everyone thought that he saw YuTang as his enemy... well, he thought the same and didn't stop others.
His point was, if YuTang became an outcast here, he will definitely go back... he made up such conjecture and believed in it..
But what actually happened to YuTang?
Well, he was at a point where he was about to throw away his life... if not for ChunHua, his chapter and story would have already ended.
But could Zhao Tao be said to be at fault?
Nobody knows...
Anyway, when Zhao Tao saw the man enter like that and again felt that same presence and exhilaration that he felt from him back then, whenever he had seen him act... he couldn't stop the goosebumps that he got... this man has definitely gotten better, after learning the art of acting for over a year now, he was all the more sure of it and couldn't stand him burying his talent here!
He had to get him out of this place...!
His face stiffened for a second before he got back his sly smile pasted on it, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, he spoke, "hm... Why are you so angry? Weren't they just joking around? I mean, you are indeed doing similar jobs for a year now... wouldn't it be better to just quit?", as, for the 'sleeping and money' part is concerned, he was a third-generation rich kid and to him, even if he didn't do it extensively himself, it was normal in his friend circle so, he didn't know that it was anything to be offended about and so, he took it as a joke...
The two girls didn't think that this man would still support them and just like everyone else, they misunderstood him. When he asked him to quit, he meant this scene, but to them it sounded like he wanted to give up on this business as a whole...
Anyway, they thought that they had a higher position in his heart than they thought and looked back at YuTang, who was looking at Zhao Tao with a serious expression, with a smug look on their faces and echoed, " What's so wrong about what we said? You are indeed trying too hard without results, doesn't that show you have no talent in this field? You should be grateful that we are even giving you money to sleep.. hah!", talk about rotten personality.
With Zhao Tao backing them, they didn't fear anyone, well, at least not this man whose career was already under the rock by now.
"Are you threatening us? Know your place! We were just joking plus, don't restructure our words... We don't think we are above the staff of the magazine, it was just a suggestion. We can also sue you for defaming us!", if there was a award for something like 'turning black into white', these two could put a really good fight for it!
YuTang became silent, well, he didn't have any proof in the first place, but as far as he could see, everyone present was giving him a pitiful look, their stand was clear... the moment, Zhao Tao had spoken, they chose to stand against him... and for now, he really didn't have anything to say against his words.
Maybe because his thin was quite skin and he didn't deal in a war with words, he couldn't find something to talk back with them... he couldn't be unreasonable and nor did he have enough power to fight against all of them as ChunHua did... like it has been for over a year now, he was again slapped by how powerless he actually was in this scene.
His brain was also not doing its job with his fever and he felt quite weak with just that much talking, he was standing there through his sheer will... but he probably wouldn't last long.
He wasn't scared of them, nor did he give up easily... but with an experience of withstanding against all odds, even if he had to endure through them... the habit of the same has taken deep roots inside and it will probably take quite a while for him to fully get over it... because he didn't have anyone to lean on or, someone for that emotional support that he needed throughout this year, he had become a little weak...
Just that... the conditions were not the same now.
He didn't want to involve ChunHua in this occasion, for he wanted to be able to fight and sub-consciously excluded her because of his experience pf depending too much on that woman, but that didn't mean... she herself won't do the same.
The very second, he felt like giving up on all this... because he knew, it won't get him anything good and rather he would make another few enemies... a voice came from behind him that pierced straight into his heart... a voice that made his disturbed heart calm in a moment!
