Chapter 3: 2- Screams and crying
I wake up again, still feeling drowsy and dizzy. I groan loudly as my head throbs. The pain is so unbearable that I put my head in my hands. It takes me a minute to realize I was able to move. Joy overcomes me, as I hear a blood curling scream. The blood drains from my face as I get off the bed. "Hello?" I call out to the scream I heard.
After taking a step, I fall to my knees and feel so weak. I hold my head and try to stand back up, but fall over and knock things down, "Dammit!" I hear another scream but it gets choked out. I force myself to stand and find the person.
I walk out from behind my curtain and out of the room I was in. I take a step into the hallway. "Where are you?" I call out, and wonder around aimlessly. "Help!" It's another cry. I follow the sound and find more hallways. I spin around in circles a few times and see the same hallways everywhere I look. I fall to the floor and the lights flicker out.
I curl into a ball on the floor and cry. I hear more screams, and the headache I have is pounding. I start to sob, and crawl on the floor like a helpless bug. I feel heat on my face and see a glowing light. I cry with joy and then wake up. I look around me for a second and see the room I was just in.
I hold my head again with the headache. A few moments later I hear the scream again. I fight through the headache and weakness, and rush into the hallways. I take a step out but remember I got lost last time. More screams erupt at once, and I stumble back into my room. I search for something to help me find a way back to the room. My eyes land on something shiny. I suck in a deep breath and pick up the scalpel. I close my eyes and hear more screams. I begin to cry and cut open my hand.
Blood drips out of my hand, and I throw the scalpel to the side. I take a shaky breath and call out, "Where are you?" I hear an isolated scream and follow it as blood tracks my path. I come to an intersection on hallways. "Hello?" I stand for a moment, and then a scream answers my call. The scream echoes down in the the hallways, and I follow.
My hand begins to burn, but I fight off the pain. I look back at the trail of blood and feel light headed. "Oh no." I begin to get dizzy and try shake it off. My mind races and I hold my head, trying to stop it, but get blood all over me instead. I hear sobbing and take more steps towards it and catch a glimpse of a little girl before I faint.
