「Types of Incantations」
As you already know incantations is the spoken form of spellcasting. It's easy to understand in paper and in practice. A mage only needs to recite a spell and upon finishing the sentence the spell will be casted.
However, incantations can be changed depending on how the recitation is performed. Not only that but a person with a great understanding of incantations can just say one word of the sentence of the incantation for the spell itself to be cast.
「 "Lend me even a fraction of Luin, a replica is fine. Strike my enemy." 」
This is the standard incantation for Luin's spear, which fires a spear of fire at the direction where the staff is pointed.
「 "Lend me even a fraction of Luin, a replica is fine." [delay] "Strike my enemy." 」
This is the delayed-incantation version of Luin's spear where unless the final words of the incantation are said the spell will not activate. Unfortunately, by delaying the casting the power of the spell is halved.
「 "Strike." "Luin." 」
This is an example of a shortened-incantation version of Luin's spear where a single word is only needed to be uttered in the spell for it to activate. There does not seem to be any drawbacks to cutting the spell into a single word.
「Vis and Phials」
Vis as we've established is the 7th form of energy of the world, permeating in all aspects of life. From non-living objects to living organisms the presence of vis is never absent.
It comes in three forms:
Base form – It is what's already known. It is an energy that fills the world and is present in every aspect of Gaia.
Liquid form – Vis as an energy can be condensed down into a liquid form, and it is a naturally occurring process that happens when there is a surplus of vis present in an environment. It can be induced through alchemical tools or simple drip systems such a hollow needle. Of course, the type of metal the needle is composed of will affect how fast vis will condense in it.
Crystalline – Given enough compression, liquid vis will begin to solidify underground and form into crystals. They are a rich source of vis and their existence under the earth has brought on a metamorphosis in some minerals, creating vis imbued ore.
